@GolfgreenThe The problem with most "ultralight" cub style copies is that they cannot pack anything. To do this kind of flying one needs payload and space to carry the necessary survival gear. Plus they're structure is not suited to operating in this kind of terrain.
Tricky stuff,,,,, the spot you work one day, add some sunshine and/or rain and wind, the surface can change more than enough to bend your aircraft the next,,, the white snow/ice hides lots...
if you want a cheap cub look at tiger cub ul i'm building one with a used mtr should be around 7 k
