Well its cheating because without his suit Captain America isn't fighting Iron Man hes fighting tony stark a man with no real fighting skills and with the suit as heavy as it may be puts tony at a disadvantage, if Cap and Iron man had a fight without any outside help of any kind Iron Man would win, his extermis is simply amazing. and tony fought Norman without Extermis due to the events of secret invasion and Tony had to fight Norman in his older model while he was mentally ill.

The only real problem about making that type of suit is finding a power source that is able to dish out an enormous amount of energy. It would just take awhile to make the suit as small as it is as opposed to the ironmonger
