  • Silly physical therapist thinks gamers thumb is tendon related. When its actually the repetitive control striking especially game cube or n64 control stick. Such sore thumbs.. Callouses don't even protect thumbs from a 15hr onslaught of carnage and mayhem :/

  • I meant mw3

  • Idiots.

These exercises are to help with tendon pains, not blisters and such.

Said tendons join to your thumb through the wrist and the rest of your arm, hence the stretches.

Also, they won't help overnight >_<

  • 1. the description contains a grammatical error. wtf

    2. why do they show her touching all of her fingers all 5 times? its not like each time was different, they could have demonstrated it once and said repeat that took up half of the video.

  • this actually helped alot!

  • so doiing these stretches does it mean i can play every now and then to avoid injury?? and it wont hurt my wrists or forearm?

  • I had "designer's thumb" this morning from my laptop. These exercises helped to ease some of the immediate pain.

  • this is only help coz its keeping you away from the game pad lol

  • just keep playing and you'll develop a calius and when you get a blister put a band-aid on it and dont play for a day or two and your good

  • And... and how does this prevent blisters?

  • @sublimeDii So what can you put on your thumb to help??

  • @sublimeDii what exactly is gamers thumb just pain on the base of the thumb or something?

  • this should be helpfull for extend playing time like all night or something...

actually since i changed my mouse from media center to gaming+pad i have stop feeling the stress of gaming maybe because the mouse was more proper to my hand...

  • That's weird. I usually do all of these things anyways as a nervous habit...

That's probably why I've never gotten this "gamer's thumb" that te video speaks of...

  • This doesn't work for me, nor do I have that bad of a case of gamers thumb. My fingers are extremely thin, with almost no muscle.

  • ya i got WOW thumb :(

  • as a physical therapist, i find this embarrassing.

  • @amart005 So what type of hand excersise would you reccomend?

  • OW OW OW OW this hurts to do, everytime I touch the tip of my thumb those blisters from fight night are killin me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,mabey if i keep doing it itll get better?

  • If you do this a lot it'll help avoid gamers thumb (doesn't mean you don't get it still), not get rid of the pain immediately

  • damn....i'm not going to compete in the hand Olympics lol. Is this really necessary? I have a sore thumb from playing tekken 5 dr, i don't have arthritis lol.

  • she dun sound like a gamur... nice monotone ;)

  • thank you! its also guitar player thumb :/

  • to cure it either get rid of the thumb or twidle them about until you rub the cartiladge away

  • 1st person to get video gamers thumb gets a cookie and is excused from getting rick roll'd for 4 months

  • this doesn't seem to help my numb and dented thumb from my xbox 360 controller's joystick

  • you can say that again!!!!!! trackmania on a ps2 pad, mine has gone crusty :/

  • *attempts exercise* MY THUMB IS BLEEDING, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

*blood squirts out of the hand* ow ow ow ow

  • i doubt this would work for me. i have full blown arthritis from video games

  • peeps who think this is Funny or useless might find it more relevant when they are middle aged; literally 'working fingers to the bone'...until then, Ignorance B Bliss.

  • fucking gamer kids...

this can help u but it doesnt work overnight, it takes time. stretching ur hands like that can prevent serious injuries, so STFU!

  • yeah it does work..thank god i aint ignorant like these other kids..

  • this shit dont work ==

    just makes it worse !

  • umm well i had gamers thumb for about a good month and a half, doing these excersises didnt help me at all lol

  • @thedeadeyes i have it 2 months how did it go away from your thumb plz tell me

  • umm well i had gamers thumb for about a good month and a half, doing these excersises didnt help me at all lol

  • How the hell would that help gamer's thumb?

  • Thank you. I have had Tendinitis for more than 2.5 years. The cause was for playing the guitar too much. I hope that doing this exercise my left hand get well.

  • I barely play video games. If you have to do this, you have a problem, and are probably addicted to video games.

  • I can understand why I'm watching this =/ What is this??

  • lol americans...

  • Hmmm... after doing all this, I have found that... my thumb still hurts.

  • wat did that do can someone tell me

  • Wow

  • why am i watching this

  • why did i choose to watch this video?

  • i don't even know why im watching this lol

  • Cool.

  • I think overuse causes the tendons to rub against the tendon sheaths. That could cause inflammation and pain. The tendons in your wrist might press against your nerves and cause pain. I think these exercises are to keep your tendons moving smoothly to help you avoid pain or loss of movement in your hands.

  • What's Video Gamer's Thumb? =/.. =$
