  • ok problem im looking to get this tattoo. my problem is i live no were near any buddhist and no way of getting to thailand to be blessed for one. so how would i go about getting blessed to recieve this tattoo?

  • @Deoblo61369 if you cant get the real thing then dont worry about it...too many people are getting suk yant from tattoo shops because it looks cool...thats not what these tattoos are about

  • @somboonmuaythai well i was told by my teacher that i need to recieve the 9 blessings to be into the temple. but that was back when i was in thailand, i moved but i still need to get it done.

  • farang not believe this like us they just do this for Art only

  • @mookza08...alot of farange yes but i am a farange and understand more than most Thais...

  • im american half cambodian and i can read every single word in that yant .its awsome!

  • I should have knowledge of sak yant bec all 3 of my uncles explained it to me the same way and they're all are head monks of Buddhist temples in Thailand for over 40-50 years...Sak Yant tattoo are Buddhist sacred scriptures and only the sacred and wise monks can read, understands, interpret it's meaning..

  • If it really belongs to Khmer then; it wouldn't be call Thai blessing tattoo..it would of been called Khmer blessing tattoos..and why does people go to Thailand to get these type tattoos and NOT Cambodia to get them..I rest my case..it annoys me when I see ppl argue or try to claim things that's not even theirs and not even true.

  • @cjade70 People do get them in Cambodia and it is Khmer culture and was adopted by the Thai because Thailand (Siam) didn't exsiste as a country yet when the kind of Tattooing started. half of Siam Was part of the Angkor empire for about 500 years as well as half of Lao and a quarter of Vietnam.

  • sak yant doesn't belong to anyone NOT Khmer or Thai Lao or Indonesian ..it belongs to the language or scriptures of Buddhism ...like Spanish, French, Italian, English are all part of latin language...so this is Buddhist language...don't know why Khmer like to claim everything..it's NOT khmer it's a scripture from Buddhism sacred blessing language...that everyone uses who ever is buddhist should know..

  • tourist.

  • @Ajxskyline i dont know what you are implying by writing "tourist".....we are residents of Thailand and have been for more than 10 years.

  • It is 'Wat Bang Pra' in Nakon Chai Sri

  • @SONGsanmanwah no...nakon phathom....or somthing like that....about an hour out of Bkk

  • @somboonmuaythai was that just sharpened bamboo.no steel right?

  • @5tonyvvvv

they use steel at Wat Bang Phra

  • @somboonmuaythai

it actually is in nakhon chai sri town....which is inside nakhon pathom province. Nakhon Pathom city is the easiest place to get to from Bangkok, then take a taxi to the temple...approximately 20-30 min drive

  • That's not Thai tattoo. It's Khmer tattoo. If Thai want to show their own tattoo they would write Thai letter on it.Sak Yant is the Khmer language write in Latin letter. Sak = Draw , Paint or Delineate on the body or on the papers..... Yant = Magic script including by the letter.

So at 2:5,2:8,2:18 ,2:27 2:38 you can see the Khmer letter on that tattoo, not Thai.

Know more about Khmer and Thai alphabet just search on youtube u will know this tattoo is Khmer or Thai.SHAME on You Thai.=))

  • @KhmerMjasSrok1113 Just like 'Origin of Species' was written in Latin even the Romans were long gone - sacred texts in Khmer is common because it's ancient language used in Buddhism scriptures.

It is actually Pali written with Khmer alphabet if you want to be more precise, read your references man.

  • hai..wat is the meaning of sak yant ...and wat is the benefit from the sak yant tatoo...tkzzzz

  • Sak Yant is khmer tattoos not thai,... thai jsut copy it.. in the old khmer empire 1000 years ago.. the khmer soldiers used the sak yant to protect themsleves durin war... even my grandpa has tattoos on his chest and back from the khmer rouge time period.....

in khmer languege Sak - Tattoo and Yant- magic

so yeah its very ncie and khmers use it for protection in war but thais copied and and use it to make money

  • hai....thankz a lot 4 the information.....I 2 have 1 of it AT BEHIND OF MY NECK.......thats y asking bout it..TKZZ , IHyRaXI

  • no problem.. khmers are proud to admit that our culture was infuluenced by hinuism and indians.. but thai never like to admit they copy everything. they just enjoy taking credit for somthing thats not theirs

  • i really want a sak yant tattoo but im not a buddhist but they mean so much and are so beautifull

  • The power of Khmer sak yant

  • this is sarigaa koo (pair of paradise birds)

good for charming and believability when enticing people into business sales, and the other sex into liking you.. good for job hunting too or any kind of interview to be convincing.

    Attraction charm

  • do you fight muay thai? I trained at Tiger gym and I swear that guy in the number 9 jersey was there! Next time i go up in December I'm getting the one of the nine peaks with the nine buddhas, forgot what they called it. What is the one at 2:08?

    Very nice set you have

  • I want a Sak Yant. I am a falang, but I am Buddhist. Mostly I enjoy their aesthetic design though. I am scared about getting HIV though, so probably won't get one. Does anyone know what sterilization methods they practice?

  • theres no sterilization...if your lucky the monk might sharpen his needle with a piece of sandpaper but thats it....

  • ohh mann, since u say that, i have to rethink about getting one

  • do plentiful of research... some monks do swap new needles and ink for you

and little things like getting it on Thursdays will increase the 'magical' properties for instance

  • dosent that mean your ganna probably contract deseases from this

  • @soul0luos if you believe in the power of hiv over the power of sak yant tattoo then i would surely not get tattooed if i were you,,,

  • @snel908 can you show one case where a person has contracted HIV from a tattoo done with a spear or a tattoo gun?

  • @somboonmuaythai no i cannot as i do not believe there is one case,,,anyways i do believe in the power of tattoo and not in the power of infections and sickness,,,there is an english tattooer i heard from back in the day who tattooed himself with a needle used on a hiv infected person 10 minutes after just to prove a point,,,another story of 7 american marines that got tattooed in amsterdam and all got hepatitis but never mentioned their daily hooker visits ofcourse,,,

  • @somboonmuaythai by the way a tattoo machine is not a gun,,, it is not used to shoot people with and i don't think the monk call it a spear either in thailand pretty much for the same reason,,,usually older ways of tattooing have a specific name,,,mai sak for the bamboo and khem sak for the metal but these refer to the points being used

  • @snel908 Yeah, I had wondered about what cross-contamination prevention measures they practice, and after digging a bit deeper, it wasn't encouraging.

  • @soul0luos then i quess you are the man,,,but after your findings,,,have you found one incident that caused hepatitis from tattooing,,,is it not just like cancer that they can state you have it and only assume where you picked it up (ooooh, so you are a smoker....)and that assumption is the mother of all fuckups?as i mentioned before,,,i believe in the power of the tattoo and if i were to get sick the sickness will find its way into me no matter what as it is meant to be

  • @soul0luos by the way,,,it takes only a small act of misconduct in the chain of events to possibly cross contaminate,,,so the 'cleanest' looking shop in town does only that,,,look 'clean',,,just what you want to see

  • sak yant is so beautiful nd its so nice dat thai nd khmer monks now sak yant since it is khmer ancient sandscript!!

  • their in ancient khmer language

  • i got mine here.... its amazing especially when klong khun......but be careful because they reuse the needles

  • if you're still don't know what scripts are being used for sak yant...well, they are Cambodian alphabets. We no longer use a few of them due to at least 10 times of modification. If you want to learn on how to read them, go and learn Cambodian alphabets.

  • bruh dont translate them into cambodian..its actualy sanskrit mixed with khmer....its Buddha Language...or brahma language depends which 1 u get....hindo or buddhist......if you got to WAT ask the old people...

  • Do you know that every Thai temple has Khmer Yant written in Khmer round letters hanging inside the Thai temple? Thais can't read those Khmer round letters just like Thais can't read Khmer round letters on Sak Yant. Khmer can read those round letters because Khmer are writing them every day.

  • your right ...thai has no culture but the culture they got from the khmers

  • yes u right

  • very nice

  • beautiful!

  • Watching the tattoos get done was awesome but scaring when i first went i got asked to get one but with no ink i was scared lol

    miss you harlee xoxo
