I don't get the lyrics. It seems to have an overload of very basic female emotions, nothing deep. There is no poetic quality to it.

In fact, now that I come to think of it, it is exactly what one would think, while lolling around in bed one morning. But, that does't mean those thoughts would make good lyrics.

But, yes, the song was very well sung and it does have -Streisand- kind of quality in it.

Good lyrics? That would be a lot of stuff by Gordon Lightfoot like Sun down, If you could read my mind and Edmund Fitzgerald.

I will go out on a limb and say that I even like Pretenders 2000 miles and Angel of the morning those kind of songs are great to hear from a female vocalist.

Good lyrics is that which I would go and google on the net and read again and again to understand what the lyricist meant.

Those are good examples. Thanks! Lowe and I actually had a discussion at one point of doing a song with more "show don't tell" lyrics the next time around. Something with room for different interpretations. We'll see what we come up with! ;)

One last thing, before I shut up for good.

Making something with metaphors and all that is possible. But, its not just the same thing as writing from experience. its clear to the listener that something is written just for the sake of writing. I think that is why musicians who have a crisis in their life become more famous than others because people view their work through their crisis.

So, don't be so happy all the time! And go get a crisis for yourself. :)

This song is not the normal thing I listen to but I think that the song is beautiful. I'm not sure her husky voice is the right match. I would have personally liked to hear her in a Broadway musical because she's just got this really professional, musical-ish voice. I like it.

Good call! Lowe actually does quite a bit of professional musical theater. She's most often doing stuff in the LA area but did a 3 month stint in an NYC show this year. Very nice song... I personally like highs and lows, loud and soft variation rather than than consistant melody. I am aware of how hard it is to write a melody, I have been involved in music in some way for 30 years. You will get there, you could write 100 songs before you strike a hit...!!

Lowe, you have a beautiful voice and are captivating, but the song doesn't do your voice and looks justice; it plods. The video however, is excellent! Its quality makes me want to watch more than once, even though I wasn't grabbed by the song. Although I'm nobody, I would love to hear you (and see you) sing something more upbeat or jazzy that stretches your range. Have JesiErin make the video; her work enhances your image.
