Dear Keith I'm not overstating things when I say that your music changed my life forever when a friend of mine first said " come and listen to this, it will blow your mind". I stuck a pair of headphones on and listened to Trilogy. Up till then I'd been living in the dark from a music point of view. Unfortunately, this was 1974 and I never had the good fortune to see ELP. I am still devastated about his however Youtube gives us an idea of what it must have been like to experience an ELP concert.

Keith is a God. Where are the artists now? He changed the world of music. Sad that he's been so sick, and probably there never will be another ELP tour. I missed the last one a few years back. Tell me... how is out there now that even comes close to ELP, or the old King Crimson, or The Nice, or "3"?

I was a beginning keyboardist in the 70s, and you, and ELP, were a large part of my teenage years.

I had the pleasure of a front row seat at an April 2010 performance of E and L, in the Midwest of America. To top off the performance, I was able to get you to autograph my copy of your book. I'm 52 now, but at that moment, I felt all of 17 all over again !

You have touched me personally and your music brought me through a dire, desperate period of time in 1974. I was only 17 then. I became a musician partly inspired by you and had fair success in the industry (although in a more commercial vein). Despite this, my heart will always belong to Prog Rock (and also Jazz) where creative expression is infinite!

@weednlogic I was at that concert, too. I was the one who caught the tambourine that Keith threw into the audience at the beginning of Karn Evil 9, Part 2. I had seen them in Chicago, 8 days earlier, so as soon as I saw Keith playing the tambourine, I knew he was going to throw it. It came right to me and I still have it. It was great seeing them twice with the orchestra, both shows were amazing.
