Yeah..Teasrea Grave left Laugh in for this show...but at least she rebounded with Get Christie Love....Bert and Queenie were the actually a married couple
Two 90-year old actors doing disco moves on a 10-foot high platform? I'm sure the network lawyers were sleeping VERY comfortably during this series' run...
I recall seeing a few episodes of this short-lived early 70's NBC show....sort of a musical-comedy series. Wow...fascinating to see Cindy Williams before her "Laverne & Shirley" days. And I recall Warren Berlinger from a few 1950's movies. And who can forget every woman's wet dream: sexy Burt Mustin! Probaby few people today remember this show....certainly an odd premise...even for back then! THANKS for sharing it with us! And HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you & yours! :)
It's great to see future characters from the actors in this show: Kaptain Kool singing with Shirley Feeney and James Evans Sr with Christie Love, if you get the picture, LOL!
Burt Mustin is the old timer who tells Bobby Brady that his "hero," Jesse James, is nothing but a "mean dirty killer." And then Bobby has bad dreams. Love character actors. Michael Lembeck was Julie's husband on One Day At a Time, and of course, Cindy Williams went on to Shirley Feeney fame.
The old man is Burt Mustin, who did tons of TV work. He was Gus the fireman on "Leave it to Beaver," how I best remember him, but was also an elderly Mayberry citizen on "The Andy Griffith Show," Arthur Lanson (the old man who married Mother Dexter) on "Phyllis," Jack Benny's vault guard in a few TV appearances, bits in movies from "Cat Ballou" and "Detective Story" to "Herbie Rides Again," and much more. So you've probably seen him somewhere.
Wow he was a good dancer for an old man.

Great seeing an early singing version of Kaptain Kool. Michael Lembeck is a great real life singer, so his off-key, about Ralph Nader, was parody.

This reminds of me "Laugh-In." I always enjoy watching things from '71, my birth year.

Cindy was sexy in the day

Should upload all the episodes from 'The Funny Side'. The series ran for one season but the genius of Gene Kelly made it most watchable.

Cindy Williams and Kaptain Kool singing a song about Ralph Nader in matching camouflage pants. Priceless. XD I love it. <3
And Queenie has some sweet purple hair. It matches Burt's tie.

this was the show Teresa Graves left laugh in for ...big mistake there. At lease John amos scored with 'Good Times" afterwards.

Wow, I can see why they would've canceled this. Cindy Williams looks so cute, though, and that song about Ralph Nader is ridiculous.

I think Michael Lembeck is cute!

Interesting fact - Dick Clair (0:46) was cryogenically frozen in the 1980's.

maybe ol Ralphie boy could drag out that supportive song from Lembeck and Williams to use in his presidential campaign.
