  • when the bar is thicker the forearms work more :D

  • This exercise is good if you haven't a lot of strengh compared to your weight. If you want more grip try a campus board or a regular training board. For example the exercise shown in the vid isn't much of a workout for my foreams (I can take my whole bodyweight on two fingers of the same hand)

  • "You're gonna start to function like an athlete." i love this line.

  • Would this work with opposite hand position. In chin up position I mean.

  • what protein do you take? and is issit possible to go on a fat burning regime whilst taking protein to bulk up??

  • @lesssel08 eat lots of fish in a can and chicken and brown rice and other healthy stuff

  • Why couldn't you just wrap a big towel or 2 around the bar?

  • yo jeff dude i need ur help.i am trying to do pull ups,i have access to 2 kind of bars one is thick and another is thin .on thinner one i can do 3 pull ups but on thicker bar i am not able to do even a single pull up ,what do u think abb this?

  • Hey Jeff can you show some exercises that really target the lats

  • great I just spend 60 dollars on a gym membership and I could have gotten the part for 3 dollars at home depot -__-

  • who is cool young reese?

  • Good info , ive got lots of grip exersizes on my page, check me out when I snatch the york 50lb blob, the 2hp developed by David Horne is awesome for grip as well.

  • An Alternative to Fat Gripz.. You are a legend!! I can spend 3 dollars on this, For fat gripz you can spend 40 dollars

  • Some of the best stuff I have seen for forearms and the neck have come from Matt Furey. He has reprints of some of the original strong man publications.

Basically, for fore arms, its not the contraction that builds strength, it is the continuous application of pressure to a wide grip. Develope clamping strength when doing pull ups; don't rely on the tendons and curved fingers.

  • I think what you want to achieve is "Boiler" proof forearms, as in the forearms of a pipe fitter/boiler maker. I believe you have the right idea, but a few hints. Look at some of the Navy SEALs training videos, and look at their pull up bar. It is about 2 1/2 " thick.

The Thomas inch challenge was to lift his 100lb dumb bell an inch off the ground. Why could only one guy other then him ever do it? It had a very wide grip.

  • Bulletproof NECK!!

Tired of seeing big shoulders with pencil necks. I need safe exercises to strengthen my neck, like it was when I wrestled.

  • $3 is expensive? so your $67 programme are not? lol

  • @flameon888 he says inexpensive means cheap

  • @flameon888 he says "inexpensively $3"

  • Amazing thanks.

  • One of the most, if not the most innovative and fun workouts anywhere I have come across. Great job JC.

  • I've used a towel that burnt tha hell outta my forearms before. real similar to this.

  • Now I just need a bar to wrap it around. ;-]

  • V lines for lower abs???

  • fair play this guy is shredded, massive slab abs

  • bullet proof biceps

  • you could also do rock climbing. Not only does it exercise a wide range of muscles, but the small grip sizes will make your finger tendons rock solid with continued practice

  • Think your going to need a higher ceiling.. Lol. :)

  • awesome tip jeff!!! hey is there a way to do a decline bench press without a bench???

  • @318r3c08 Put your feet on a chair and bench from the floor make sure you but is in the air and your core is tight WARNING USE A LIGHT WEIGHT OR A SPPOTER BECAUSE IF YOU DROP THE WEIGHT( Well actualy now that i think about it if you drop the weight the 45 pound plates on both sides will hold the bar up becauseyour on the floor so nevermind):)

  • anyone what those 2 balls are called that you rotate using your hands? I heard they increase your grip strength

  • @TooBloodyEasy gyro ball?

  • @TooBloodyEasy Yes, It's actually really good for the forarms

  • good one

  • great video Jeff, keep em coming!

  • Rubber band exercises arent hard to do at the gym and if you dont utilize them you are missing out on strength and muscle gains believe it or not. Take your rubber bands and go to the gym and thumb your nose at the meatheads that think iron is the only way. I do 90% of the exercises in Athlean x with bands at home. Some still need a db or a plate but im limited on those so the bands do the trick. I like it when he shows me more stuff to do with em.

  • Thanks for this video Jeff!!

  • Jeff, keep these videos coming -- you're one of the only people I truly trust to demonstrate the best techniques to incorporate into my workouts. I like your innovation, but please do fewer rubber band exercises...they're just harder to do at the gym. Keep up the great work

  • Love your video's, im gonna start using your workouts at the gym now! Keep up the good work!

  • hey Jeff, great stuff...can u really point out the main reason(or reasons) for 'back spasms'.....and how to address these issues with the proper exercise. been playing football(soccer) and i have back spasms which keep relapsing....thank you man...cheers

  • Hey Jeff, I do a similar workout by wrapping a towel around the chin-up bar - and it burns the forearms like hell. Another great vid Jeff.

  • hey jeff, another workout for stronger grip can be the push ups by pressing on top of your fingers and not using your palm....it is really good..

  • Bulletproof obliques

  • can you rap like a towel or something around a bar to get the same effect as the foam ?

  • THE DARK KNIGHT RISES TRAILER /watch?v=XH-gcTFqOrg

  • The foam at Lowe's is better =D

  • Jeff would you do a video on deltoids, how to grow big felts, please...

  • BULLETPROOF CALVES!

  • BULLETPROOF LEGS!!!

  • try out a hand stand push up against a wall or if you can do them with out support, they really work your shoulder and arms

  • After the 90 days of the AthLean program will there still be workouts that'll grow along with u?

  • hey man.. i shoulda swore i saw you in the new transformers movie.. could you get back to me on that please?

  • reverse forearm curls wit that tubing is killer too

  • bulletproof the neck please!

  • Jeff, when will the next video be?

  • tryed this before its a killer but does work

  • Would AthleanX help my cousin prepare for bud/s SEAL training?

  • really usefull stuff.....

  • has he done a bulletproof chest yet

  • good stuff

  • Could u please make a video on abb exercise's with limited equipment all I have is bands and a pull up bar thanks ur videos helped alot and now I have 8 pack abbs

  • This is a killer workout!

  • @quinton101 I don't know man. But you should mention that to your doctor.

  • Bullet proof Traps

  • I have a questions, somewhat related to this video. When i do pull ups, about half way through my first set I get a pain in the upper part of my neck, around where it connects to the skull. And then a headache quickly follows through, starting from the back of my head and going to the front.

This only happens when i do pull ups, and it usually goes fully away after 45 minutes to a hour. Do you (or anyone) know why this is happening and how it can be prevented. It only started recently.

  • Cool

  • Bulletproof upper chest

  • bulletproof calves

  • you are such a smart man!

  • biceps and triceps guides plzz, great video btw

  • @justforsec1 there is a video for biceps. i think it was the first one in the bulletproof workouts.

  • BULLETPROOF SHOULDERS!!

  • another great video...keep it up!

  • Nice to find a guy from the UK giving fitness tips.

  • @AtoZyzzyva

    I am stupid.

  • I want a bulletproof SHIN

Now here me out on this. A lot of athletes, especially amateur fighters like myself, noticed our shins wear down faster than bodybuilder types because of all the running and jump roping we do. I am plagued by shin splints if I run two days in a row. It's killing me not to be able to do heavy cardio when I want. Fighters need this cardio training so much more than the average athlete does.

  • PLZ BULLET PROOF ROTATOR CUFF's

  • Hey Jeff,

How long have you honestly been training to achieve such a body you own today?

  • @rippaallday dudue I am have a hard time watching another dude naked anyway why you had to make it even gayer

  • @putzamoale99

LOL oh so true my friend!

  • hi! i already tried this and worked a lot. i play tennis and im ussualy a number 3 grip... what i did is started to practice with a grip number 4, and my forearm started to gain muscle.... of course this practice is only for tennis players.

  • hell man,I like you principles of recruiting as much muscle as possible when working out.We are not meant to work in isolation.-i hate that bodybuilding part of information is soooo tempting and sooooo misleading

  • i used to do pull up grabbing a towel or a Gi (jiujitsu) you put around the bar. those are tuff ones also!

  • BP Lats,calves,or triceps

  • BULLETPROOF CALVES

  • bulletproof shoulders

  • bulletproof lats!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • "BULLETPROOF ABS".. of you got a workout of that.... would be of great help...

  • @emoneal there is one for abs too, search

  • I have notice this in the military when there are certain bars on the monkey bars in agility courses that have loose bars. I think the foam brings that concept to a whole different level. Thanks for the idea!

  • Great advice!!

  • hey Jeff good creative tip here, we have those foam things in our gym, might try and use 1 next time im doing pull ups!! bulletproof quads, shoulders and how about bulletproof protection for your knees?? also a workout in the style of training tennis hero rafael nadal would be nice, the guy is ripped!!! thanks again Jeff

  • what about your extensors?

  • I do pullups on playgounds on the swings and their bar is approximately as wide as your bar after extention. I can tell you from experience that it kills my forearm. I can do 12-15 reps there meanwhile I can do at least 20 on a normal bar.

  • Jeff I Have wrist problems when making Hang clean and Shoulder press can you help me with that?

  • Hey Jeff. I don't really have the money for any of the bands that you make look extremely useful. I am also preparing my body for the tests of the military therefore wondering, do you have any suggestions for cheap, good bands?

  • another great vid jeff! ive purchased ur athlean-x program, n im already done with week 1.. i already feel stronger. thnk u so much for sharing! btw, can u make a vid for bulletproof pecs?

  • hey Jeff, what is your opinion about doing push ups on your finger tips like Bruce Lee? i can do them and i feel like my grip got stronger after doing them... What are your thoughts?

  • Hi Jeff, what about a bulletproof workout for shoulders?

  • you need to punch that skylight out so you can get your chin up to the bar!

  • I wrap a towel around the bar = same outcome :-)

  • great idea, thanks for the tips!!!

  • Youre bicep is a football

  • what about bulletproof legs jeff ? i think i rather have strong lower body then upper body people always forget about the legs???

  • Bulletproof CALVES. they are my weak spot!!! Nice work!

  • Jeff, I understand that Athlean-x is a 90 program. But is it something you could stay with after the 90 days.

  • @refdoc1 yes

  • great video jeff

    keep 'em coming

  • bulletproof bicep peaks

  • @MrGangstar3600 he did already

  • @MrGangstar3600 jeff already did one of these. It's called build bigger bicep peaks with one trick. Just search his channel for bigger bicep peaks

  • @2phranky5 lol i didnt even look thx

  • Did something that is pretty similar: did pullups with THICK cloth gloves that are really slippery around the iron bar. Not only does it make the area wider, so you have a bigger grip area which is harder, but I had to really squeeze just to keep myself from slipping.

    Great video.

  • bulletproof triceps and abb like how to burrn the fat offf the abb area not just buld up the abb cuz thats what i find most of my friends that go to the gym with me struggel with we have abb its just u cannot see it unnless u just fin a workout and how often should u do abbs but ya thx and talk about diet aswell plz thx agen

  • bulletproof biceps and triceps!!!!!!!

  • if you do only 10-15 pullups , you will do 3-5 of these

  • bulletproof glutes video please.

  • awesome thanks bro

  • b-p triceps

  • excellent vid Jeff. I have the Iron gym Xtreme pull up bar that fits into the door frame and all its grips have that foam stuff on them and I like it so much better than any or the real pull up bars I have tried at my gym. I find the having to squeeze more brings my forarms, and rear delts into it more, but still works your back a lot since you are going slower as well

  • bulletproof traps

  • gonna try this for sure. Thanks again Jeff!

  • Man you are really doing a phenomenal job with video and exercise tips.

  • towel pull ups are great to!

  • love the idea of starting with an intro-story and then start the music.

    Much more enjoyable to watch!

  • What an amazing idea!

I'm totally going to try this.

  • Bulletproof traps and calfs!!!!!!!

  • I've seen some pull-up bars with a soft-cushion grips, which sorta acts as the same thing. But I like how your idea has taken what i think, is on step up. It really does train the forearm a whole lot more. Thanks Jeff. Good on you for sharing these tips.

  • bulletproof lower back/core! That would be awesome!

  • Hey Jeff I think you should do something involving the Iron gym aka the hook-on pull up bar. Maybe you could talk about the different workouts we can do on it?

  • Would this work with those shoulder pads people put on the bars for weighted squats?

  • @bullet4mv93 I thought of this too but wouldn't those pads be too thick to grip? The ones at the gym I go to at really thick.

  • @XxSSjUltimatexX yeahh come to think of it they might be too thick...but idk, maybe that would make it harder/a better forearm workout. I'm gonna try it lol.

  • I hear doing pullups with towels have a similar effect

  • great video again man..i love the way you explain and teach things..thanks for posting this

  • Is there a bulletproof calves? if ot I want to see Triceps

  • hey jeff and fellow athletes. ive been doing this for a while but theres a slight variation that works a bit better but you lose even more reps for pullups cuz its a hella lot harder.what i do is wrap 2 face towels from my gym on the bar and have them wrapped around the pullup bar. then grap a handful of towel and hold on for dear life as you pull up. mak sure you dont wrap the towel around your wrists or fingers otherwise it defeats the purpose. i hope some of you guys like it!

  • You need to make a BULLETPROOF NECK video. I'm sure a lot of people could make good use of that!!!!

  • never seen someone do pullups with such ease like something ain't right

  • Comment removed

  • Bulletproof glutes!!! :) You are awesome. I love your tips and I love your 90 day training system. It was a great purchase. I am a woman, by the way. But I bought the men's Athlean X.

  • Great vid, I do feel the burn!

  • nice

  • That maneuver is very helpful...oh and also one thing...it reduces the pinch factor you get on your palms during gripping whenever you do pulling exercises that results to painful callouses...that extra cushion is really of great help. Thanks very much Jeff.

  • Bulletproof Quadriceps, love your tips Jeff, thanks.

  • love your vids man

  • has anyone tried his program?

  • @Robinater111 Yes

  • Jeff, have just started subscribing to you videos. Your work is awesome.

I know you say we miss the point if we think it's about making a gym from home depot, but it's definitely a bonus. The majority of my gym includes chains, metal bars, benches all of which are free or bought from Bunnings (Australia's home depot).

  • bulletproof traps!

  • i feel like a poor person when i say this but i dont have a pull up bar but what i use is a tree just a regular tree branch that is nice and thick i use for working out

  • awesome Jeff keep them. You are the most creative traier out there. Many try bu they can not do you

  • Great idea! Thanks!

  • bulletproof lats please!

  • BULLETPROOF CHEST! :D

  • you have cannon balls for biceps.

  • It was hard to find a cieling that low to work out in. I ended up putting my head through the foam ceiling and then I slipped off the bar breaking my ass and face.

  • @U3X6785 did you make a video of it? it would be great

  • I'd laugh if home depot runs out of these so the people that actually need them can't get them. XD lol jk but this is an awesome idea, nice job man

  • @stylezNout whats that

  • So Jeff, you think I should apply the bulletproof workouts to the athleanx? or just wait until i'm done with the 90 days?

  • JEFF I LOVE U FOR THIS!!!

  • how can I send you my success story?

    Cheers

  • Jeff, I'm an avid rock climber, specifically bouldering and I train using a finger board, doing 3/2 finger pull ups. So my forearms are pretty strong...do you know of any more advanced techniques?

  • ONLY 313 views!!!!!!!!!!! wow this guuy is not gettig enough views as he should be

  • Bulletproof Shins!!!

  • fat gripz!!!!

  • how many days are required to get bullet proof forearms in this workout?

and should i do this every day or 3 times a week?

  • BULLETPROOF CHEST!!!

  • towels work well too, just put two towels one for each hand over the bar and hold on to the ends (dont grip the bar grip the towes)

  • what i do that helps alot with forearms is whenever i lift or do pullups or anything that involves me working out and using my hands, i do something i learned in mma called monkey grip, which is not using your thumb

  • kick ass!!!!!!!!! I feel it!!

  • ive heard about this and ive done things like rap thick cloths around different bars like dumbbells and it kills forearms
