COLD AIR INTAKE?? ARE WE WATCHING THE RITE VIDEO?? CAUSE ALL I SEEN WAS A DIRTY ASS PAPER FILTER AIR CLEANER (CHROME?? WHO KNOWS?? DUDE IT JUST KILLS ANYTHING YOU ARE TRYIN TO DO ..IT WOULD LOOK MUCH BETTER LAYIN ON THE GROUND........
WTF!!! ARE SERIOUS!!!??? TAKE THAT POS BED COVER OFF THERE!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? THAT LOOKS LIKE SHIT!...ATLEAST PUT SOME SLATS IN DA BITCH SO YOU DONT HAVE A BIRD BATH BACK THERE !! CMON MAN! UR MAKIN US S10 GUYS LOOK BAD
no way thats an 88 s10 looks more like an 84-85 with that old interior the 88s had the new dash in them, and weres the cold air intake? lol unless youve got a dyno sheet tp prove thats a 400 horsepower 355 i call bullshit no offense and im not hating on your truck just stating the obvious , i like the convertible top thats kinda neat
always use 1% two stroke oil in your fuel to prevent engine and fuel system wear and corrosion caused by modern E10 Eco Fuel! Its just too dry and aggressive to your engine and pump and tank materials. 2 Stroke oil neutralizes the acid in the modern eco-fuel.
well i put small blocks in 2 different 82 model S10s and a 97 s-10 and i had to beat the fire wall in on the pass side only and only at the bottom for the header flange to make it through and that was it
Take that Edelbrock carb off and throw it in the trash, and put a Holley on it!!! Edelbog's are junk... the design is from a Carter AFB Dodge carb that Edelbrock redesigned and F'D up... I promise a 650 double pumper will wake it up
@danaandbillsmith holley is better for racing..but the edelbrock is better for the street..its a good carb ..no power valves to blow out..and less tuning..i have both holley and edelbrock..im not baised but holley makes a little more power but edelbrocks can be tuned to make just as much..i want a holley 750 dp with annular boosters instead of downleg squirters because the annular boosters produce a cone shaped shower of gas..check them out they make alot of more power threw the whole rpm band.
this this is horribly ugly my friend,, u deff need to loose that old bed cover and ricer body kit.. and get that exhaust redone... it sounds leaky..now my 93 with a 383 is a beast.. 11.20 in the 1/4
i had read it in a book i think called 1001 greatest cars. had a picture of a Veyron on the front cover. The V8 S10 was in there and it said its 0-60 was 4.1 seconds.......................sounds too good to be true though doesnt it =/
like the body kit you put on it looks nice on this truck. i want to do this to my 92 s10 but from what i gather it costs around 7 grand would rather buy a fast car for that and just leave my truck the way it is for haulin stuff
no thay did not from the factory the small blocks that chevy made are 265,283,302,305,307,350and 400 and from thoes you can mak 377,383,355 and others that i cant remember lol
ford did a better job with the 289, and the 302 5.0, other than the original 69 camaro with the 350 thats the only chevy beast in my book! but then again im old school so if ya ask me when mustang came with the 302 it was a beast!
Cold air intake means the edelbrock intake has a an open air passage under the plenum for cold air to pass through. Not sure how effective that design was. A tach setting has nothing to do with the way an engine idles, it measures the rpms of the engine.
you siad it has a cold-air intake at 1:09. I think you've been working on them ricers too long. Don't brag about a muscle truck with a cold-air intake, you won't impress many people
S10's are not badly built trucks. They are as well built as any other chevy. It's the fact that people expect them to do the same stuff as a V8 Silverado or Avalanche. The S10 is a light duty truck, not a god damned 1 ton.
so i have a 305 thats been souped a bit. its a 2nd gen block i believe? dont quote me! but, its out a 89 silverado that used to be throttlebody injection. i had to buy the weiand intake to convert it to carb. cause, of the angle of the headbolts in the center for the intake? you followin me? anyway. i picked up a set of 492 camelbacks from a junkyard today. and, there in great fuckin shape! and, only for 50 bucks.!im wondering if anyone knows if i can slap these heads on my 305?
They were found on 1970 LT-1 engines. They had 2.02/1.60" valves, 64CC combustion chambers, DO have accessory holes, intake port volume should be 161CC's, exhaust port volume should be 62CC's. These heads have double hump casting marks. This particular casting head was also available as an "over the counter" head from GM in straight or angle plug configurations. you will loose a litle bit of compression compared to a 305 head wich is 58cc combustion chamber (492 heads are 64cc)
with the 492 head there will be a better air/fuel flow that's an important thing..........so definatley it will fit on your 305.....it's a good head swap....good luck :)
ive got a 92 s10 ive been thinking about putting a 327 in, but i keep hearing rumors from garage junkies, that i have to beat back the firewall more than 2 inches to make it fit (700R4 tranny and all)
Honestly I'm not sure about a 1992 Chevy S10...but I know that you could fit a Chev 350 sbc into a 1987 s10 without any firewall mods...I would suggest going on some S10 forums or even on cardomain and asking some people that had done that mod.
yeah dude.... i have a 92 S-10 shortbed with a 350 and 700R4 in it.... i have to pound the firewall back a little over two inches. the neat thing is when you clear that room if you dont have the money for headers for the swap the stock exhaust manifolds will clear the frame. i would reccomend running two into one exhaust though! run the tubing high along the bed with some heatsheild otherwise the axle will knock them loose
@evhgl87 my friend also has a 92 and its a rumor used too they had too or a small block wouldnt fit now they make a engine swap kit with new motor mounts and all that good stuff
@evhgl87 A 92 is basically the same as an 87, that way to 93. There are kits that assist you in installing v8 in these S10's without moving the firewall. If you stay with a small block, you'll be fine. Not saying you won't have fitment issues possibly with headers, but that can be worked with as well. Check your forums, read all you can find.
thats prety nice...i dont like that thing under the front bumper..but im now a low rider guy..check outmy s10 vid.. took to s10s one with bent frame and built one nice one..i like it.i just got the 4.3 v6.. what mods do you have to do for big block?
To do a big block mod you would have to do quiet a few mods...but to fit a chevy 350 small block you basically just tear everything out of the engine bay that may get in the way fab new motor mounts and radiator supports and you are good to go =)
Very true, I bough the truck in this condition and there was no step to convert it back to normal but i think the cab should have been reinforced before it was cut
Did you have issues with the top leaking?...My roommate and I built the motor up in a S10 with the 350 swap, and the previous owner had the top chopped to come off like that too. It leaked like a mofo!
Duh the cam is probably just a light cam, you can hear the lobes if you are a v8 guy. V8's can sound "rough" but run hard, a 4 banger or street ricer needs to think before speaking.
How do you make a 355 Chevy smallblock?

I am injection and weber carb specialist in Germany
located in Stuttgart. Older cars need some additional protection against
the E10 fuel and E5 fuel these fuels contain aggressive ethanols and
this causes fuel system corrosion and engine wear. A good two stroke oil
contains certain additives to preventing these aggressive radical chemistry in modern fuel. I wish you some fun with your nice vintage car!
