  • What year was this?

  • Atom Willard in the house!

  • this is my favourite video on youtube without a doubt.

  • @Bman420420 i was about say the same exact thing!

  • Pat Wilson looks more like Rainn Wilson in The Rocker here. I had to look really close to tell the difference.

  • emo ftw !

  • I love how happy the dummer is with himself when he pulls of that beautiful drum break :D And the solo is pure magic

  • excellent =w=

  • omg his scream is beautifully orgasmic..!

  • Why do they wear those stupid Devo suits now?

  • i went to lupo's the day of the show and a real pretty lady heard me pleading with some dude getting off the tour bus to help me get in. turns out she was on the guest list and her +1 was a no show... so she took me in with her. that set of club shows was the last time weezer was worth seeing.

  • =w=

  • i can't stop playing this song!!! fucking awesome!!!!

  • its the bass tyhat makes this song

  • too fast. killed the song's groove

  • am i the only one who thinks that this song would sound sick with a digitech whammy.

  • am i the only one who thinks that this song would sound sick with a digitech whammy

  • 2:05 - 2:18 :adore:

  • So fucking good! what happened? :(

  • god damnit rivers

would it kill you to pick up your damned guitar and give us solo's like this

    WTF are you doing....

  • @superluigi92 I heard it was because reviewers didn't like his music around Pinkerton where he actually tried his best writing lyrics and pouring he emotions but they didn't like it, it got negative reviews.

  • I was never that big a weezer fan but this is some oldschool badass stuff.

  • I only like their self-titled albums and Pinkerton. Pinkerton doesn't seem emo to me, but it apparently is. Doesn't mean it's gay, it's a terrific album!

  • The reason why their earlier material (TBA and Pinkerton) is their best is not simply because of catchy melodies and good songwriting, but because of their heart and vitality. Whenever I listen to those two albums I feel young again, full of visceral emotions. After Pinkerton I feel like Rivers could give a shit about what his songs meant- I mean come on: "Cheese smells so good on a burnt piece of lamb". The FUCK is that Rivers? Post-Pinkerton weezer may still be catchy, but it's SOULLESS.

  • @cherry88 so right. it's sad really.

  • rivers was a beast

  • People who don't understand how one can be tired of sex are the people who haven't had very much of it.

  • This is such a good song, i never really got the title "Tired of Sex," like who is gonna be tired of sex? But I heard the song, it sounded pretty damn good. And this live? HOLY SHIT, friggin awesome-ness! lolz

  • @TheBigCheeseSauce

He's looking for love not just random sex.

  • 99,801 :D

  • Yeah, Weezer had already deserted us all by time Green came out.

  • Epic solo is epic.

  • Yeahyeah, go Rivers!

  • son of a bitch... what the hell happened to weezer now. sure you can say theyre still good and all but they cannot compare to this

  • @DemonicMuffinMan It's because Rives stopped playing lead guitar... That sudden loss of ambition can really change someone. I'm hoping for another Maladroit or Pinkerton. Raditude was acceptable, though. They've announced a heavier album titled Odds and Ends will be released this year.

  • Yeah gonna be out in Spring apparently, Should be good. I didnt like Raditude so I'm hoping it'll be good

  • @kingcon101

They're calling it a studio album. It's a collection of songs written since the beginning and up to this point, but haven't been recorded yet... so, yeah it's not a compilation.

  • oh great another album? 3 in 3 years. man it seems like all efforts gone unless odds and ends is like rarities

  • agreed.

  • @DemonicMuffinMan yep its sad man

  • @DemonicMuffinMan

Yeah I know. It's fuckin sad. I'm going to see them live next week but I'm having second thoughts. I just heard "I'm your daddy". What the fuck happened? I'm actually thinking of getting a refund and just going to see Modest Mouse instead.

I pray they play some blue album. Wish I could have just seen them when they had no choice but to play good songs.

  • @DeadJ0ker27 Aw modest mouse is awesome too.

  • @DemonicMuffinMan

    dude, it was fuckin awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • @DeadJ0ker27 @DeadJ0ker27 you should definitely go still. even though their newer albums arent as good, i just saw them live and 95% of what they played was blue ablum, pinkerton, or make believe and they were really good

  • @RFFVNS

yeah I went. It was fuckin awesome! got to hear some of my favorite songs live and sing along with everyone in the crowd. they fuckin rocked.

  • @DemonicMuffinMan Get me some-Raditude=Pretty Nice Song

  • @DemonicMuffinMan exactly..

  • @DemonicMuffinMan the people who will try to fight you on this werent there for 90's-early 2000's weezer...

  • @DemonicMuffinMan Can anyone compare to this?

  • Green era rivers was the best rivers.

  • false. the correct answer is anything before green.

  • Green album rivers was probably the last era where his voice was still fantastic.

  • @mcboltron

there was definitely some good stuff on Maladroit.

but to say it simply, pre-green is the way to go

  • Rivers sounds like a little boy, after the solo :D Great song!

  • remember when I first heard that solo... I went like wow... Cause I really didn't expect that from Rivers.. It really shows his potential.. And I'm not saying weezer is bad cause they are friggen ROCKINI!!!!

  • i came in my pants a bit...

  • His voice has such anguish in this performance. Rock out!

  • 2:04

  • YEAHHH!!!!

  • fuck yeah

  • Weezer's genre has stayed the same throughout their existence- power pop. It's just that the quality has steadily declined as time has gone on. Maybe Rivers let fame go to his head or something, but my expectations for Weezer after Pinkerton were sky high, and they never came close to meeting them. Sure, Green Album and Maladroit are good albums, but they are nowhere near as good as the first 2. The red album, I am sorry to say, is just bad.

  • its not as bad as raditude. red is great compared to that im sad to say.

  • word...red delux wasnt all tht bad

  • Yeah, you know there's something wrong when the 5 Bonus Tracks are better than the actual album itself.

  • I have to wonder how much can be attributed to Matt Sharp leaving the band after Pinkerton. I feel he added a large amount of creativity to Weezer. There was nothing special about his bass playing, but I feel like he largely contributed to the song structures and lyrics.

  • Yeah, that happens a lot in bands; a lot of the creativity is attributed SOLELY to certain people. In this case, Rivers gets all the credit when his bandmates probably contribute more than everyone realizes.

  • I don't think Matt's departure had as much to do with Weezer's change in music as many people seem to think. Sure, maybe Matt had something to do with the change but I really think it was more coincidental as during the time between Pinkerton and The Green Album, Rivers changed alot (and so did Weezer's music).

Weezer's sound changed more because Rivers changed and not because Matt left. (and I doubt Rivers changed because Matt left, in case anyone tries to make that argument xD)

  • I just Pissed myself. That was the most amazing thing ever. Especially when the distorted guitars come in. Rivers was insane!

  • I Only wish Pinkerton hadn't been a flop in terms of sales (Their best album IMO).

Then maybe they could've kept in that direction instead of changing like they did with the green album =/

  • blue album was a genre changer.

pinkerton didn't exactly suck, but it was a real big step down from the blue.

  • How can the blue album be a genere changer if that was their first album???

  • A first album can't be a turning point for a genre? Nevermind the bollocks? The chirping crickets? Sweethearts of the rodeo? Led Zepplin? I could go on but I think you get the point?

  • Well the way you said it made it sound as if you meant a genre changer for the band.

  • do you even know what a genre is...?

  • Uh yea like wtf dude bands change genres all the time I personally feel that red album and even maybe before that weezer went to a more mainstream alternative rock then say blue album. Lol dont get mad at me for your vague comment. Once again the way you said it made it sound as if it was a genre change for the band.

  • Oh now I get you, you meant that weezer switched genre, right, no I meant the blue album changed the punk/grunge genre.

It is incredibly rare for a band to change genre though, I can't actually think of any example off the top of my head here... That's why I didn't understand you.

  • Thrice has changed genre.

  • Oh no wait, I got one, the beastie boys, the started out as a new york hardcore band and somehow ended up in hip hop, I'm sure there's some others.

I'm sure there's plenty of bands that think they changed genre because they hired a keyboard player or some shit too... but no dice there...

  • how about the kings of leon, they went from Awesome southern rock to girly ballads and synthesizers in one album.

  • I don't think hipsters count tbh. They're only immitating genres, they're not actually a part of it.

  • I don't really understand what your getting at...

  • "the blue album" IS weezers biggest mainstream recod LUXZ0R...are you not old enough to remember it?..it was alll over the radio and MTV

  • just learned the solo myself.

can't quite recreate it but i'm close.

    Rivers is the man.

  • This was like 2000? I remember being at this show, and at that point it seemed like Weezer was completely off the radar, but they drew a crowd and played a hell of a show

  • 2000? this show was around 1994-1995, no way in hell were you at this show and just skipped 6 years on the date. Lying on youtube is beyond stupid.

  • Ehhh, this was actually probably around 2000/2001. Matt's not on bass, it's Mikey- so it has to be between '98 and 2001. And it looks like green era rivers, lol.

  • They went downhill went Matt left, the green album with Mikey welsh was pretty average. Only way this band can be saved is if Matt rejoins full time.

  • I miss the mid 90's era weezer. I was only a youngling then, but i love the blue album and pinkerton. although green and maladroit were good, they don't seem like the band cares as much about them as they do the first two. And when i heard weezer's new single off of ratituted, i was so disappointed. Oh well, i love this band, and as long as they still rock live i'll see them

  • I loved weezer back then, when they still cared about their music.

  • whata...yeah me too. i was walking past a bar tonight and i heard something off their self titled album playing. so i decided to go back to the first weezer cd i'd ever heard, pinkerton and i remembered that man, i really love this band

  • It's still pretty rockin!

  • jesus christ I forgot how much I love weezer.

  • omgggg...how long ago was this? this is soo amazing <3 =w=

  • omg, CHECK that solo! If even possible, it's better than on the record!

  • The slide in the solo is him bringing his finger towards the neck, and pushing the string down on the pickup as he slides, giving it the super bright "slide" sound.

  • The solo gives me a boner.

  • does he have like a mini slide on his finger or something, how the hell did he do that??!?!?!

  • idk could he just like put some piece of metal or glass or w/e on the tip of his finger? lol

  • i liked weezer when they were uncomfortable nerds

  • Why doesn't he say the " taking some E's" line

  • I think the line you're thinking of is "thursday night I'm making Denise" which he does say.

  • i NEED to watch this clip at least once a week.. this is crazy..

  • many people said, "Blue is best, Red is worse" but i think Pinkerton is the best one ever.

  • I think it's safe to say if you don't like this song, you may as well stop listening to music altogether

  • i totally agree with above statement

  • omg! how does he freakin do that solo?!?! that's crazy, i'm tryin to learn it

  • i know its hard as shit. I just learned it but it doesn't sound as nice as his

  • This song is made of win.

  • Con: Their new songs are shit compared to their old ones.

Pro: Weezer shit is still better than SlipknotKornAvengedSevenfold shit, and that's a fact! ;D

  • love those harmonics before the band rips into the outro

  • Pinkerton is way good, but i think the blue album is the best.

  • Even though I like Pinkerton better, I can't argue with you; both albums are brilliant.

  • I like to split those albums into two categories:

    Blue = Light

    Pinkerton = Dark

If you like more lighthearted material, go to the Blue Album. Edgy, more heartfelt and dark material, go to Pinkerton.....my personal opinion :D

  • one of the best Weezer tracks, easily.

  • one of the best tracks. period.

  • wish i was there

  • nah i think it's the meditation

  • No he has been doing the meditation thing for a long time already. i think they are just experimenting with different sounds.

  • if you have an i mac press control, alt, command, 8. enjoy!! make sure you press them in together.

  • love teh solo

  • So I downloaded this album off of iTunes not expecting at all what to hear since I hadn't heard any of the songs from Pinkerton before I d-loaded it. I put the album onto my iPod, sat down in my comfy chair, and listened to the very first song off of the album. To my delight, it was "Tired of Sex", and it BLEW ME AWAY! One of the best songs I've ever heard, best song off of Pinkerton, and one of Weezer's best songs they ever put to record!!!

  • definately... pretty rare to listen to music and hear such raw emotion like this. Fucking incredible album

  • sexy solo

  • yep

  • i disagree i think their albums get progressivly better. they started off raw and moved away from that but i still wouldnt say they suck now

  • better times. too bad weezer is horrible now... rivers' solos are just the chorus. this solo was better than the album version - perfect.

  • the end of this song is one of weezers best moments

also the guitar solo in falling for you

  • fav

  • my fav weezer song

  • lupos in provdidence...what year is this??(:

  • shit yeah, thats what the weez are about. my fav solo just beats out Dope Nose and Say it aint so

  • how the FUCK did all those fuckin idiots hate on pinkerton when in came out?!?!?!? look at this!! this is fuckin amazing!! why did people hate it??? fuckin asses...

  • Dude pinkerton is seriously up there for their best album ever

  • that is possible the most epic solo of all time.

  • srsly that solo! AWESOME! love the end of it

  • wow solo !

  • wow that was goood

  • God Pat Wilson just is an animal

  • So amazing ... his hands aren't even on the fret board during that solo. How does he do that?

  • why cant I be making love come true... YEAH!!! just plain awesome guitar, awesome solo, and well rivers is singing so I guess you can figure out what that is =)

    =w=

  • Their best song on their best album.

  • good life ftw!

  • Meh, I like the Good Life but I don't know, I like all the other songs more.

  • wow

  • prefer this to the album version

    more rocking

  • I think some call Weezer emo because of the context of his songs, most of them are about him whining about something, usually girls. Not that I'm hating on them it's just how it is. Rivers is no Bob Dylan when it comes to lyrics but maybe...maybe that's a good thing.

  • ha, look at the little obey sticker on the kick drum

  • i'll admit it--i felt a stirring in my loins during the solo.

  • holy solo

  • can someone explain y people say weezer is emo, i know MAYBYE this is alittle of the reason, but im serious someone tell me

  • cuz they don't drink jack daniels and have big tits on their minds all the time. and they DO have some emo-ish songs. But really don't give a f*ck...i don't like it...i love it. LOL My fav is In the Garage cuz of the D&D ref and the comics mention and throwin' it up to KISS. But I'm Tired is cahllenging for the number 1 spot. They should cover Frehley's "New York Groove" Yeah, KISS was kinda emo too LOL

  • I remember in the mid 90's, we used to call weezer "college music". I certainly don't hear the expression anymore, nobody ever uses it. It kind of meant you perhaps had nothing proper to write about, and instead would pen songs about burnt toast or something like that.

Brilliant song and well performed, btw

  • Wow, he plays the solo even better live. That was fucking awesome.

  • Tonight it bleeds!

  • Fuckin NAILED IT!! Rock on, Rivers!!!

  • Love this song. And the performance is great, too.

  • ..oh why cant i be makin love come true....

  • cool pickslide at the beginning

  • there are very few bands that play at this level live, weezer is fucking great

  • hay hay hay. ;D M

  • my boobs feel firm today

  • that solo blows my mind every time i hear it

  • best tired of sex live?

  • best period

  • you sure this isnt tulsa oklahoma from 9/9/00? i was there

  • i love this song! They inspired all the music i write :)

  • PINKERTON BEST ALBUM EVER!!!!!!!!!!

  • thats my personal message thing on msn
