Back in the 50s and 60s America was more egalitarian when it came to income distribution. The 50s and 60s were one of the most prosperous times in American history. Incomes for Americans of ALL economic status increased tremendously, and so much wealthy wasn't as concentrated in a very small percentage of the population. When too much wealth is concentrated instability occurs.

I also find it pretty astonishing that huge multinational companies don't pay their fair share of taxes, but yet company profits are at pretty high levels. Back in the 50s and 60s America was more egalitarian when it came to income distribution. The 50s and 60s were one of the most prosperous times in American history. Incomes for Americans of ALL economic status increased tremendously, and so much wealthy wasn't as concentrated in a very small percentage of the population. When too much wealth is concentrated instability occurs.

I also find it pretty astonishing that huge multinational companies don't pay their fair share of taxes, but yet company profits are at pretty high levels. The Republicans had a 600+ billion stimulus, too. And those unemployment numbers Obama gave were economist estimates. 2 months later he said the severity of the downturn was underestimated. This stuff has never been a science. Unless you can see the future. To create jobs now trade laws need to be enforced, & both parties won't do it...

You do you because of Republican the Stim bill was 50% tax cuts and the money sent to the state were not earmarks for projects. Therefore many states used the money to cover past ills.

How long did the democrat controlled: senate, house, and presidency have to pass a budget? They purposely put it off so the GOP would have to be the adults in the room and do it for them. Sadly, too many of the Republicans are more worried about the party than doing what us right, so it will probably take a true meltdown for our representatives to pull their heads out and cut spending. The printing press only works until people realize what you're doing, then the economy collapses.
