  • Slowly and slowly it starts up!

  • nice! nice catch!

    great job

    5/5

  • computers, what happened, they piss us off, whats the use?

  • my dad workes for bnsf

  • tell him to get me a job, lol

  • lol hahahaha

  • the start up almost sounds steam.....lol

  • GE for ya! Time to bring out the big guns! EMD SD-70ACe. How many videos are there of GE's blowing pistons, and other troubles out there? GE is over rated. The AC-6000s TROUBLES. I know the EMD SD-45s had troubles and the SD-50s were not relable or the SD-75, but hey its a EMD product so it looks better sitting still than a GE in motion! Great Video.

  • I agree with you 100%

  • I think the best locomotive is EMD

  • @chefjavier Yes i agree, emd's are better, my favorite emd is an SD40-2.

    I have no favorite ge's

  • good video

  • was thee alerter go'n off at the end?

    nice vid.

  • hehehe.... she purs like a kitten.

  • i want that all to myself...lol

  • This is one of the reasons why I love being a trucker. I take my camera everywhere and take great train pics and vids. I like the new bnsf Paint job. KInda modern and old school at the same time..The colors jump out at you. Alot nicer than the old black and white of Norfold and southern. or blue and yellow od csx. now Cheesie had a nice paint job. Please check out my train vids too thanks

  • I wish the kept the woubornet colors

  • This is a new BNSF ES44AC.

  • Actually, what's going on is this is a coal train unloading, and the crew has disconnected the lead loco from the rest of the train that way they're not jerked around while the dump shed moves the train.

  • i love BNSF

  • same. Totally awesome

  • I keep coming back here! "this is a great piece of video". *I blow out my subs darn near every time I crank it up!! ... Thanks !!!

  • This is why engineers love the older non computer locomotives with standard cabs and no computers in the cab like the SD 40-2.

  • nice paint job

  • Slow speed is needed in pretty much ALL aspects of railroading. No matter whether it's drilling cars in the yard or starting up after a crew change, the last thing you want to do is break a knuckle coupler or worse, pull out a drawbar. In this instance, this unit, and many other GEVOS like it, lacked a key piece of software for proper operation when going to a coal unloading facility. The locos move at very slow speeds (less than 5 MPH) while the coal is unloaded.

  • Slow speed is a nice thing to have but isn't necessary for loading or unloading a train, nor is it used for worrying about breaking knuckles. At most coal plants, the indexer moves the train so only the alerter needs to be nullified. No slow speed is needed.

  • so whats the problem no slow speed so whats going on here im confused

  • ITs a big nono for all rail companys

  • Was this gust the loclmotive or did the locomotive back up to the train or by it self?

    Nice video

  • Where was this located.

  • Montrose Ia Southeast Ia.

  • no horn when starting to move thats a big nono on union pacific

  • haha ge imagination at work.....lol how ironic that logo can be!

  • Sentimental video. My Dad used to work for ALCO & GE in Schenectady, NY and GE up the river in Burlington, IA, plus he was born down river in Keokuk, IA, and his Dad was born right there in Montrose, IA.

  • I notice when the engine started up, it also sounded like a steam engine departing and leaving station. Great video.

  • that was a cool video...but those things have the

lamest sounds ever....listen to GP38 start up

and then see how much you like that

  • Alco its exagered !!!Lol

  • Sounded like an ALCo for a second during startup!

  • cool video

  • Happy New Year Marvin -Of course that,s a great video but

    there is a part 2?

    pit

  • I have to say that that was an excellent video.

  • Thank you!
