  • Google Inc,. Search in market. Look for voice search

  • Why i cant find it in the android market?

  • This just doesn't work for me, is it my British accent?

  • it never works

  • @E430c you still have to download it from the android market

  • hi i have a problem it always opens the browser to everything what i say.please help me thanx

  • @E430c It sounds like you only have Google Voice Search and not Voice Actions.

  • @E430c Clarification of my previous comment: You need to make sure you have the latest version of the Voice Search app, which includes Voice Actions. (Only available on Android 2.2 and up)

  • @Herohtar i have the latest voice search and i have samsung galaxy s 2 so i have the newest version

  • yes iPhone can now, they copy all the nice ideas and present them like they are the inventors... even if siri is more like vlingo, with a cleverbot.

  • @BellasKisses SIRI is a failed voice system... its not back by any search system like google

  • I just found out that this phone has stuff that I am still exploring

  • question when i say like send text to mom it will say mom and then what i said to sent to her but in the message box the contact name will not go into the " to " box

  • @tommy19470rocks My guess is that it doesn't recognize a common word like "mom" as a name, and so assumes you meant to say it in the message and doesn't try to look up a contact named "mom".

  • @Herohtar but i do have some contacts with first and last names and it still does not work it shows up in blue in the message box

  • @tommy19470rocks If it shows up in blue, that means the speech recognition didn't recognize the word and is just guessing. Perhaps for those other names it is something uncommon that it doesn't understand? Another thing to check is to make sure the contacts are stored in Google Contacts and not just locally on the phone. Other than that I am not sure what else could be the problem.

  • @Herohtar k i will try ty

  • Also i say text like friends name then say the text but i pause for a sec then say the text and it dont work still also i tried send text to and send text but it still don't work

  • @Herohtar Thanks i added google contacts and it worked :d thanks

  • Nice vid and nice cam. I'm on a stock Nexus One running 2.3.4 and I enjoy the voice commands. Very impressive job with constructing the entire email! I've sent text messages before, but I've never tried emails.

  • how does it define "." and Period as a word?? like.. it's over between us period! will it type.. it's all over between us. or with the actual word period?

  • @eldervinnie It seems to turn all punctuation-type words or phrases into the actual punctuation. Thus, using "period", etc. in a sentence will result in the actual punctuation rather than the word. The only exception I found was that it doesn't seem to change more than one in a row, so if you said "It's over between us period exclamation point" you would get "It's over between us. Exclamation point". There may be a way to force it to leave it as a word, but I am not aware of any at this time.

  • Does voice commands come standard on every device with android froyo 2.2 right off the box ?! Or do you have to activate it first or download it as an app ?!

  • @fodasscara123qwepass I believe the app is pre-installed in 2.2, but it may require an update to gain the voice actions feature. I don't know whether every Android device is the same in that regard, but in any case, it's just a simple visit to the app market to install/update the "Voice Search" app, and can be done on any device running 2.2 or higher.

  • I too have the Droid Incredible which I love. How the heck did you get the voice commands to work for you? Mine will do searches, get directions & navigate. It doesn't seem to recognize any of my contacts for texting and making calls. Any ideas would be great?

  • @Marine322 You might check to make sure you have the latest version of the Voice Search app (and maybe Google Search). Also, I'm running Froyo, for what it's worth. Other than that, I'm not sure what could be the problem.
