@vivitar45 I have hit a few deer with mine the factory bumber caved one the first one then I threw on the one that covers the grill n everything not a scratch or anything since
I trully love the retro craze going on these days breaking the mold on ugly same looking vechicals. I seen the New Holland Boomer 8N last summer ,and one of these semi tractors last fall thought it was very nice change from boxy trucks.
the comment that turbine power69 made i found untrue. in the UK most fuel is retailed through supermarkets this stuff is like turpintine that u wash paint brushes in.this gives poor fuel mileage compared to fuel of 10 years ago.on vehicle reg docs type of fuel used to say heavy oil .fuel used to be green shell and blue esso
Walmart had no influence on this truck. This isn't the type of truck they run in their fleet. They may run a cheap Prostar, but this isn't a fleet truck, especially for walmart.
Which is the same idea as the Coronado. We, Freightliner, won't sell a large group of Coronado's to fleets, like we do the Columbias for example. It keeps the resale value up and make them more exclusive so O/O are more interested in owning them for a premium. That will be the same concept followed by International on the Lonestar.
Peterbilts are nice for what they are, but they don't dominate all trucks. The only Petes that are worth driving is the 379/389/386. The 387 is the biggest turd on the planet.
thats why international designed this beast. to piss off all the peterbilt drivers who think that driving a peterbilt is hardcore trucking. there aint nothing special about a pete. every rookie fresh out of jb schneider fuck up school wants a long nose truck so they can be a hardass. this truck puts kenworth and peterbilt to shame. it just looks better
Wow, finally a truck company thinking out of the box, and staying away from the box design. This is the super model now of trucks and this design will revolutionize the industry. I bet in 2-3 years, the other companies will make crazy truck designs like this just to catch up. I want to get into trucking part time as a life long dream and this new toy might just get me into it sooner then later. Nothing but Interantional!
wow, what a beautiful truck,, seems international combines up to date aerodynamics with a excellent look,, the sleeper part with wooden floor and walnut imitation covered shelfs,, to me this trucks looks very good,, spectacular design work
looks ok. cant say im a fan as it looks way over done to me. looks like an overgrown kids toy. i got no dramas with trucks going more aero in styling but this has tried to do too much of both i think.
no, they run almost exclusivly COE's & it has nothing to do with milage. it has to do with the fact that the roads in europe were designed for horse drawn wagons origanally, so they have alot of rather tight intersections to navigate.
with the cost of fuel constantly rising and taking a huge chunk out of an owners profit margin, the big square hoods are probably going to fall away in favour of sleek rounded lines. I personally love the look.
Europe has worse problems then the U.S does with tree huggers. fuel is about the same. euro cabovers get about 4 MPG & are burdened with extra emissions.
The interior of a classic truck wasn't made of that cheap plastic that you see in a pete and kenworth. But I guess things change. This truck is definatly the nicest aerodyn truck on the market from what I see here.
straight hood with a flat grill. something every wannabe hardass trucker wants to drive. yeah ill bet you like that big ass fuel bill too. i had a prostar that would get 6.5-8.4 mpgs and had great power. rather drive an international than a pos pete lor kw

Nice truck with nice backdrop. Looks like Northern California in
early Spring; I recognize the Bay Bridge lower deck, what looks like Interstate 80
on approach to San Francisco, possibly even Napa Wine Country.

The old saying.."The more "we" progress....the
more we....REgress" definitely applies to IH's
new "Lonestar"......because they "took" the
hood design right from one of their trucks
built back in the 1930's [or early 40's]....
Very Nice....but, only wish they had "carried"
the design into the cab and the dash.
TurbinePower69 3 years ago
@jamesathen as a truck driver and fleet owner i tell you just try volvo before you try for any other truck !!!!!!!!!!

yeah, I agree with you. I think as of right now volvo's designers have pretty good taste comparing to other brands
iluha9 3 years ago
Volvo Hasn't got a clue how to build a REAL truck......but, then again....there aren't any
"REAL Truck Drivers" out there anymore either
come to think of it......thats why you see all
those "fleet trucks" with AMT's (automated
manual transmissions)...because how to shift one themselves, is way beyond their comprehension and "ability".
TurbinePower69 3 years ago
Volvo VT880 anyone? No contest. Volvo sucks.

kazper01 4 years ago
We'd get ALOT better fuel mileage, IF the damn
oil companies would quit producing such Crap
fuel (and gasoline to!!).
The Europeans have much better quality fuel
and it shows in their fuel mileage.....and
their still running alot of COE's.
...And with the latest forced emissions crap
that the tree huggers had forced on the truck
engine manufacturers, they effectively set
them back 15-20 years.
TurbinePower69 3 years ago

Personally....I would LOVE, to see Pete & KW
do what IH did.....because they both had some
REALLY Great looking trucks way back then.
I am definitely hoping that they will both
follow IH's lead....and dig back into the past
and come up with a new "old" truck design, like the extended hood "needle nose" of the
mid/late 50's would be "killer"!!
TurbinePower69 3 years ago
That's a PT Cruiser on steroids.Or it looks like that Green Goblin monster truck on Maximum Overdrive. Pretty cool though.
