that was a nice tree. RIP, nice saw, get a logosol chainsaw mill system and cut that tree up into boards so i can dry it out, make you a nice chair to relax in after a hard days work :)
actually I did make a face cut, you see me brush the chips out of it right at the beginning. Problem was I buried the camera in chips after about three seconds, hence no footage(and better camera placement for the backcut...)
The 660 is a little bit louder but its really more of a pitch than it being louder. You see the 660 has more power and not bog like the 460 so the rpm stays up and the sound is different.
I'm a Chef by trade...when I'm chopping it's usually vegetables, when I'm cutting it's usually meat. Time spent on my Stihl is AAA prime stress relief on my days off!
that tree was on the edge of an unstable bank above the milling area. Now we can work more safely on the landing below when stacking and loading logs onto the mill. The Doug fir logs you can see will be made into beams for the future barn to be built in that same area.
Nice vid! I have an ms 250 and my uncle has a 460. I want to get a 660 for the big stuff. Please post more videos of that thing. That thing is a beast! 5 stars!

What a great video, and a fine cut. Recently purchased an MS 660 Magnum, and you've helped me confirm that I made the right buy!

Ok. That makes sense. Thanks.

Do you cut wood often? If so, you should post more videos of your 660 in action.

Has any one used both a 460 and 660? If so, which one is louder?
STIHL1992 3 years ago
awsome i love the 660 your skill shows in this video

My humble thanks...Most of the cutting I do is with a knife, not a saw. My favorite days are with that 660!

no problem i love my 460 wish i would have got a 600 but oh well with a knife what do you mean?

Sweet drop, right into the mill below. What is the plan for the wood? Hot Saw!

this will be mom & dad's private stock for the hot stove next winter...Doesn't dry well enough to make anything decent from it...
