Man how I miss the old NYC. It was sleazy and dirty and you can say it wasn't for the meek but thats what I loved about it. Me and my friends used to cruise the deue and eat chinese food at 2 a.m. Miss those days. Now I get depressed everytime I go into the city. It's just not the same.
I remember watching this movie on WHT. That's when cable only had one channel. I was living in bay ridge Bklyn. I was 12. Now I gotta buy this movie gotta check Amazon. Does anyone else remember WHT?
I once ran into Trini Alvarado in a chinese restaurant on 57th St. in NYC. She looked pretty good so i recognized her easily. I told her right away how much i LOVED Times Square. She was very friendly & said "That was a long time ago!".
Anybody think that Robin Johnson's character predates Susan Berman's one in Susan Seidelman's SMITHEREENS and Madonna's in DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN? Robin's performance should've been star-making. Trini was good too, The shot of the Times Square marquee circa 79/80 w/the girls on top makes me cream my pants.
I love this movie. I was only 12 or 13 when it came out. I remember it after all these years. I've tried to find it to buy. Amazon had only a few copies for about $100. A bit high. This movie was so empowering for girls I think. Tim Curry was awesome
Two friends and I saw this shortly after its release in 1980. The only two things I remember about it: 1) TVs being dropped from apartment windows and 2) the three of us were the only ones in the theater.
Wish someone could upload this. Netflix doesn't have it and I'm sure no video stores would. (Since, if they're even around, they've been raped of all selection.)
My Brother Jow and I used to watch this whenever it was on when we were kids.... didn't matter if it came on @ 3am.... he's passed away now but remains one of my favorite movies and memories of us together <3

Wonder if the creators of "Kick-Ass" saw this film, which is pretty fun, and was influenced to create Hit-Girl's look?

This film tried to do for punk what Saturday Night Fever did for disco and Urban Cowboy did for country. And Stigwood produced all three.

One of the most under-rated, coming-of-age dramedy films. Stas Trini Alvarado, Robin Johnson and Tim Curry.

Pretty ahead of its time for 1979/1980. The inclusion of very fresh new wave tracks, cutting-edge fashion, it's at least 5 years ahead of its time.

There should be more movies from ALLAN MOYLE. Pump Up The Volume is coming up on its 25 anniversary - can you believe it?
