Loretta: Your old gospel/hymns that I learned from my Mama when we still lived in East Tennessee are keeping me propped up right now. Thank you, for the person you are and the beautiful old songs that you sing beautifully. Being from Butcher Holler I know you would understand.
I spent my childhood listening to old time gospel songs like these sung by artists like Loretta and Tammy Wynette and Johnny Cash. My grandparents raised me with a strong faith in God and how I miss them and the ole' times of sitting on the front porch pickin' and singing our gospel songs. I love and miss you Ma and PA.
Saw her at the Grand Ole Opry a few years back. I bet she did 4 encores. The people just wouldn't let her leave, nor would Little Jimmy Dickens. Great show.
I took my mother on vacation with me to Tennessee back in 88, went to the grand old opry when it was at the opryland park and although she wasn’t listed miss Loretta showed up and sang a couple of songs, she sounded incredible in person that made my mom’s day right there and mine too. She is an amazing lady
My Grandfather's 2 favorite singers were Loretta Lynn and Johnny Cash. Listening to this just takes me back to my childhood with him playing his old records. Those are some of the most cherished memories that I will keep with me until we meet again one day. Maybe he, Loretta and Johnny are all up there in heaven singing away.
@pris72 Loretta ain't dead maybe he and Johnny are but Loretta still going at it and touring I am going to see her in May 2011 at Country Tonight Theater in Pigeon Forge Tn. I Love You Loretta.
There'll never be another LORETTA LYNN! I was thrilled to have met her twice and was there on the side when she was presented with a star on The Walkway Of Fame in Hollywood way back in 1978. This is the stuff that legends are made of.
Will the circle be unbroken By and by Lord, by and by There's a better home awaiting In the sky,Lord in the sky I was standing by my window On one cold and cloudy day When I saw the hearse come rolling For to carry my mother away Undertaker, undertaker undertaker please drive slow for the body you are carrying Lord I can't see her go
Loretta, I have known you my whole life through my mom. She is on life support and will not make it through the week. I remember growing up to her singing all of your songs. You were her hero...She is mine. I wish she could of met you and I wish you could have met her..Thank you Loretta for a lifetime of memories
Personally I don't like the Carter Family I mean I know they have a lot to do with music and stuff and i like their music I just don't like to hear them sing sorry. But I LOVE LORETTA!
um on youtube slides set to music equals vid. and thankyou for posting this... minds me of my young godfearing churchgoing days. thanks a friggin lot.

This is very amazing! Loretta did a very good remake. It's probably the only cover I actually enjoy outside of the Carters.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and The Gaithers did a super version of this song. It is every bit as good as the old Carter Family version.
