If you want to enjoy a great wine, don't eat. Although there are some full bodied styles that sometime require some food to deal with their higher astringency and phenols, no food will allow you to appreciate or understand your wine better. Wine and cereal is retarded

I goofed up and paired the Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a riesling (Kendoll-Jackson 2007). It was actually great! The apple/pear component of the wine really blended well with the sweet cinnamon. The milk and alcohol fought each other and kind of killed the finish, though. Now I have to try it with the right chardonnay.

i find a nice Riesling to go quite nicely with some shortbread which is something i discovered lately, or a butterscotchy type Chardonnay for that matter! i thought it was a bit weird at first but after watching this it makes perfect sense..

I just got turned on to this show and there are so many episodes. Any ones to note on in particular. On a side note, I just moved to Oregon and there are some incredible wines here. Was there a show(s) on Oregon wines?

Gary, I have been so busy working lately that I haven't been watching the show. I'm finally getting caught up and this is absolutely fantastic!! My wife thinks I am insane because I have been talking about pairing wine with cereals! Capt Crunch is my absolute favorite cereal, definitely going to pick up a bottle of the Riesling to give it a go!

On a side note- I'm trying a 2006 Jacob's Creek Reserve Shiraz. What are your thoughts on this wine, I'm enjoying it more than I expected.
