If you want to enjoy a great wine, don't eat. Although there are some full bodied styles that sometime require some food to deal with their higher astringency and phenols, no food will allow you to appreciate or understand your wine better. Wine and cereal is retarded
You Yanks have the worst breakfast cereals. I'm glad we have healthy packaged cereals where I live. Everytime I eat a US cereal I tweak like this motherfucker in this video.
@LOLDISNEYLAND Holy shit you can't be that retarded. HAH.. You think we just have these 3 cereals? We have the same "healthy" crap cereals you kangaroo fuckers have. You probably have worse cereals than us, to be honest.
@munkey505 Fuck was I asking for someone to reply to my comment? My original comment is true to me only and I didn't ask anyone elses sentiments. No point calling me names because I don't think anyone takes your "shock and awe" abuse anymore rather they take your abuse lightly as simply coming from another comment section asshole. I never said US cereal is bad for YOU in particular, it is bad for ME. Youtube means ME-tube. So if you can't take someones likes/dislikes then fuck off.
I goofed up and paired the Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a riesling (Kendoll-Jackson 2007). It was actually great! The apple/pear component of the wine really blended well with the sweet cinnamon. The milk and alcohol fought each other and kind of killed the finish, though. Now I have to try it with the right chardonnay.
i find a nice Riesling to go quite nicely with some shortbread which is something i discovered lately, or a butterscotchy type Chardonnay for that matter! i thought it was a bit weird at first but after watching this it makes perfect sense..
I just got turned on to this show and there are so many episodes. Any ones to note on in particular. On a side note, I just moved to Oregon and there are some incredible wines here. Was there a show(s) on Oregon wines?
Gary, I have been so busy working lately that I haven't been watching the show. I'm finally getting caught up and this is absolutely fantastic!! My wife thinks I am insane because I have been talking about pairing wine with cereals! Capt Crunch is my absolute favorite cereal, definitely going to pick up a bottle of the Riesling to give it a go!
On a side note- I'm trying a 2006 Jacob's Creek Reserve Shiraz. What are your thoughts on this wine, I'm enjoying it more than I expected.
This brings back memories...not with wine, but coming home from school, eating cereal (Apple Jacks, Lucky Charms, Fruity or Cocoa Pebbles...) and watching Zack Morris, A.C. Slater, Screech, Lisa, Jessie, Mr. Belding, and Kelly Kapowski on Saved By The Bell.
Yes, I still remember all of them. Probably always will.
Did you say something about Zack Morris on one of the late night shows Gary?
I like it !

I like the concept. Most Sunday mornings I go straight to the wine w/o the highly sugared cereals, but hey, why not? Just kidding.

Anyone who can pair wine with nreakfast cereal either really knows his stuff... or is begging for a labotomy.
You've got me fascinated by the Cinnemon Toast Crunch/Chardonnay pairing. I'm going to try it and post about it later.
PS: You are very entertaining!
