"Hello, my name is Kay Hagan, and instead of defending the Atheist community, I've decided to shun them completely. I'm just tossing their vote away because the Bible tells me not to trust them. Come now, fellow Christians, let us shun the unbelievers.
I approve of this message. Why? Fuck you, Atheists. That's why."
There are lots of atheists in government. They're called Republicans. They're good at lying about their beliefs and using religion for political leverage. They talk about Jesus but do not act like Jesus at all.
Who the fuck gives a flying shit if some politician believes in a fairytale sky god? Dole's attack makes me want to despise her. But this dumbass's response causes me to lose all respect for her.
Yes, an industry. They don't do it for free my friend, they do it for profit. The corporatist Obama and Mrs Hagan have encouraged that particular industry to expand.
Oh you mean the fact that she willing teaches children they will burn in hell forever if they do not love, worship and believe in Jesus? That's child abuse you fucking retard.
its funny how Christian's think atheist haven't read there bible , when in fact its probably why we came around in the first place the bible is full of unethical crap that wouldn't stand up in court today.
that why all christian must apologize for there bible, and they forget jesus was Jewish
I literally can turn to a random page in the bible and find something I don't agree with. And when you confront a Christian about the repulsive stuff, they get really angry that you don't tolerate their bronze age morality.
This is a classy response; it's about time someone challenged the Republican Party's monopoly on religion. Do they think God came down from heaven to found the Republican Party? It's amazing how easily a direct and adult response can dismantle Republican tricks and gimmicks.
yeah, but too bad she didn't just say : hey what's wrong with atheists? are you saying that they can't donate? that they aren't american too? that would have been nice, but i don't expect politicians to do that often
I really agree with you! It's just like Colin Powell discussing McCain's response to the women who called Obama a Muslim. McCain said "no that's not true," but Powell thinks (and I do too) that the best response would be "what's the problem if he were a Muslim?" You're right, though, don't expect nuanced argument from politicians.
I was waiting so long for someone to say that about the "Muslim" thing, then I read what Colin Powell said and damn it I was glad we gave him a knighthood.
The Republicans take the Lords name in vain constantly. Jesus taught to help the poor and the sick, for the wealthy to share their wealth. Republicans call that communism. The caste stones while being guilty of many crimes.
They would call Jesus a muslim, terrorist, communist, gay liberal if he was around today. Vote against hate this year.
Kay Hagan is a fascist, filing a frivolous lawsuit because someone dare criticize her. And why does a Senator from the Tar Heel State need Massachusetts money for her campaign?
wow that's lame. then Dole's campaign is more about bigoted prejudice, lying about candidates, putting the fanatic religious right in office, and keeping her stingy little fists closed tight even after she dies. Now see how stupid you sound?
Typical Rove-ist tactics, fabricate just enough of a lie to make it appear truth. Lucky for the American people this is working less and less with each election, as the electorate becomes more sophisticated.
Abraham Lincoln once said that you can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time. But, you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
The Karl Rove-wing of the Republican Party had better get some new tricks if it wants to fool all the American people once again.
I wrote to Dole months ago asking her to honor the separation of church and state. I told her that I am a patriotic American, who spent 10 years in the military. I told her my family's military service has extended back to and included the Revolutionary war. We've paid taxes, given our blood in war, worked in public service and been mostly Republican.
I told her freedom of religion included not disparaging others faith or lack thereof. The closest thing I got to a reply was this ad.
It's sad politicians have to make ads stating personal beliefs rather than talking about what they'll do for the people.
Thanks GOP!
Dems say: "vote for me because I will do....to make your lives better." Gopers say: "don't you hate hate "those people" (Muslims,Gays,Non-Religious, Non-Christians etc.) We hate those people TOO, so join us in hate and vote AGAINST the Dem candidate.
As long as GOPers want power, we'll have their money continuing to incite biggotry/fear among us. Sad.
I first met Kay Hagan 25 years ago when we both worked for NCNB. We have since lost touch, and I was very intrigued to learn that she is running for US Senate. I have long been an Elizabeth Dole fan, so I have been postponing my decision about whom to vote for. No longer.
Elizabeth's legacy has taken a serious hit from this tasteless and mean ad. Kay and her husband Chip are loving parents, very involved citizens, and amazing people. They, and WE, deserve much better. Shame on you Dole.
This is just bellow any sewage of intellectual bankruptcy orchestrated by no other than Elizabeth Dole. What are we, 5th graders? Folks, this is our country, these are the people we want to put in power, to throw mudslinging at each other!! I am not baffled; I am deeply disturbed by the trend that politicians are employing deceptive with blend of red herring to stray us away from the real issues.
Elizabeth Dole should either profusely apologized or have herself recuse from the election, period.
Dole used someone else's voice that wasn't Hagan that said, "There is NO God!!" imposed on Hagain's face. So any person who is uninformed and doesn't actually research, would think Hagan herself said it. To be honest, at first, when I heard it I thought they had gotten audio of Hagan saying that. Then I researched as saw that Liddy Dole is big fat pompous liar and Hagan is in fact a Sunday school teacher. The GOP has never been acused of telling the truth.
This response to Elizabeth Dole's sleazy ad bashing Kay as being some kind of "atheist" is BRILLIANT! Dole has lost her respectability and deserves to lose her Senate seat.
Paraphrasing "Hello, I'm Kay Hagan. Dole lied in her ad telling the world about me being rational. I'm not, and stories without evidence do still guide my personal decisions in life. I approve of this message."
