  • you need a match bone marrow to do a transplant.

  • i did some research the bone marrow transplant can cure it.

  • Keep on pumping ! It is worth it, even if it is hard.

With propoer iron chelation you can live a normal life without complications.

  • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves of Exjade (deferasirox), an oral iron chelator developed to treat chronic iron overload due to multiple blood transfusions.

  • Thank you for posting this video. Ida & Teresa, you were in my thoughts when I posted a note about Thalassemia on my Facebook. Ièm working on doing fund raising for it very soon. My name is Chadwyck and I am an alpha thalassemic minor. This video has been inspiring for me.

  • What type of thalassemia do you have? I'm still in the dark with my severity level. I don't require transfusions but I have alpha thal. and every time I go to the emergency, I have to explain my history. It's weird that other people know so much about this blood disease and in my area nobody knows what it is, only me.

  • its good that you have done this video-- i hope lots of people watch it and make use of it-- i had a lovely little 10 yr old daughter who had thalassemia major but she died after a bone marrow transplant which was supposed to have saved her from blood transfusions!!!!. father of "kiran ashfaq" remembered for ever!!
