I have not heard this song since I played it in grade 9, 5 years ago at my high school's end of year concert. I was very privileged that year to have Del Borgo come to my high school and host a clinic.
The Bad: Every "first" note sounds "blotched" because the tonguing isn't spot on. And an obvious balance issue persists in the introduction when the trumpets sound "timid".
The Good: great alto sax solo. Good synch with the runs, and the last dance "Hussar" was perfect.
@nairblin i went to this camp for 4 years and was principal percussionist for 3 of those years. We only have a week to prepare. so a 8.5/10 is pretty darn good for 5 days of rehearsal!
