The chapter that really grabbed me in "Road to Cana" was Christ's encounter with Satan in the desert. I thought it was so clever how the devil was visually and psychologically tempting Him while emitting his lies. Intense and brilliant!

As a Christian and as a die-hard Rice fan, I've felt like the vampire books should've been laid down to rest after Queen of the Damned just because it was such a perfect wrap and ending to the first two books. I loved the vampires and the witches, but it's the end of an era I'm so excited for Anne's new direction and can't wait to see all the new books she'll be writing! She has all of my support. And Christ the Lord has been amazing and incredible so far.

Not going back, my friend. That part of my life is over. I have to tell all I know and feel in a book, and I have to write the books of now, which are Christian. No possibility of anything else.

I am so sad that Anne has backslid from atheism into Christianity. She should read "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. A superb book.

It's a funny thing. Richard Dawkins never read the bible, but constantly critizises it. To critizise a book you have NEVER read makes you a hypicrite and steals all your credibility. You need to read "The Dawkins Delusion", you'll learn something!

Didn't I just tell you to first read Alister E. McGrath's book? You might want to check out his other works as well. Several of them are about Dawkins' work.

Thank you for the citation re: Mr. McGrath. But you didn't answer my question. Give me evidence of your allegation that Mr. Dawkins never read the Bible. I suspect that you dodged the question because there is no proof. The Bible would be a natural source for his research. Hello.

Anne, I too gave up my belief in the Christian God when I was 19. It was because I lost someone and I felt that he abandoned me. Maybe one day I will go back to him when I am ready, like you did.

I was blown away by your Christ the Lord book in 2005, so beautifully written and so light and bubbly in comparrison to the Gothic Novels. Belief is really a light place to be.

I can't wait to read the next one.

I will miss Lestat though, he is a good man.

Not 2 weeks ago I pulled Memnoch the Devil from my book shelf to read again and it held a new significance for me than the first time I read it. This time I read it with the Lord in my heart and in my mind. I must say it blew me away, I was so intrigued by Lestat's journey and by the picture you gave of Jesus.

These new Christ the Lord books are nothing but poetic beauty to give a fictional account of our Lord's story. Rice has presented works which are new, inspirational, historically interesting and spiritual. I hope they hold off on adapting it into a film so her novels can stand the test of time of their own genius.

I agree. As I read more of Mrs.Rice new books,I am amazed and given much food for thought.

I don't understand those who say her gift left her when she ended the Vampire Chornicles. I believe her genius is still there,just as strong,only turned in a new direction that pleases Mrs.Rice's heart and soul.

She simply outdid herself with these books and her faith,love of God,and talent make them beyond good.The fact that she has me,a non religious person,avidly reading these books is a miracle!

After finishing the book I remember wishing or maybe praying that someone would write a book about Jesus that would help me know him better. Low and behold I go to the library THE NEXT DAY and what do I find on the shelf but Christ the Lord by Anne Rice! I don't need to tell you what it meant to me to find what my soul was seeking, you've walked that road yourself. You have given me a new passion for biblical scholarship and for the study of Jesus's life and death and resurrection.
