Asking Babcock if he thought the Wings had a chance to win when Crosby got hurt is an insult to BOTH teams. The same Wings team (mostly) in 08 defeated the Pens with a productive Crosby, so of course they could have defeated an unproductive Crosby in 09. The Penguins managed to get to game 7, and ultimately win the Cup with said unproductive Crosby. The Pens had plenty of talent to win the Cup other than Sid, so his injury wasn't so fatal that it gave Detroit that much a better chance to win.

Speed kills. Red Wings had some good bounces go their way in this series and looked good because of them. They had problems with Penns speed from game 1 and could not adjust to it.

Penguins coaches, after dropping the first 2 games, made the adjustments they needed to make in order to win 4 out of the next 5. After winning the first 2 games, Detroit coaches were unable to adjust their game enough to win 2 out of the next 5. I'm not sure on what criteria coaches are judged on ability, but I'm pretty sure "making adjustments" should be pretty high on that list.

I am a big Pens fan- I have to say this to the moron Pens fans below that cut down on Babcock- He is an amazing CLASS ACT! From his greetings of the players in the handshake line all the way to this gracious interview, you can spot a good man when you see and hear one. Mike Babcock- congrats on a GREAT season. We took this one this year but we all hope to see these 2 teams competing again in a 7 game finals. LOVED IT!!

totally agree with you. i have always been a huge pens too. babcock i think is the classiest coach in the NHL right now. he knows how to win and he knows how to lose. from giving an interview you could never tell if he lost or won. and congrats to the wings on another great season and i hope these two teams meet up again next year and do it again. it was a great ride.

He's a great coach. He has class & so does his team. Wings will just take this as another experience that they can feed off of. They will find away to use this as an advantage just as Ozzie used his terrible regular season as an advantage. I'm proud to be a Wings fan no mattter what. I have to congradulate the Penguins on a well played series. They took advantage of their chances. Thats something The Wings didn't do much of but overall a great series proud of The Wings and congrats to Penguins!

It's so nice to find classy fans on YouTube for a change. :) I'm a Pens fan and felt that the '08 and '09 Finals were both thrilling and awesome to watch. These two teams make a great matchup, and I've always respected the Detroit Red Wings and their organization. Maybe we'll meet in the finals again down the line here sometime.

why not?i mean when you make the finals and it goes 7 and both teams lay everything on the line, and a series like this that was very entertaining.why not give the other team credit?the only bad thing about this series was the officiating.det 29 pp-pgh 19.very lopsided,and calls were missed both ways.however,i like mike babcock he's a classy dude.
