Jerry Remy is a baseball genius. I read his book "Watching Baseball" back in 2004 and it was great. If you're a fan of baseball no matter what team I recommend that book. I even got to meet him once and tell him how much I loved his book.

Hey guys, I'm a Jays fan, but here in Canada, we actually get to see a lot of Red Sox games on TV, & I have to agree, Orsillo & Remy are two of the BEST at calling ballgames. Unlike those two numskulls calling the White Sox games, you never hear Orsillo & Remy saying stuff like "3-2 lead for OUR guys" or "2-0 GOOD guys" or any of that crap. One reason I enjoy watching Sawx games is I get to hear Orsillo & Remy in the booth, those guys are doing a tremendous job:-)

Remy was on the NESN broadcast last night and it turns out the little homer has a case of general 'craziness.' All in all, I guess it just goes to prove that the curse of the Red Sox is alive and well (his kid was implicated in the dealing of roids). Years ago I remember reading David Halberstroms' book, 'The Summer of 49,' and in it he wrote about the parralleled decline Mel Allen and the Yanks in the 60s. Don't look now but that might be happening now to Sox.

Another thing I may add is I just watched a Red Sox/Yankees game on Fox and those announcers sucked. They goofed off for half the game and was talking about getting Derek Jeter a present for his birthday. That's pretty off topic, is it not? I'm just saying the quality of the NESN broadcast is a little suspect. It's a little too folksy and the fun in the booth is often at the expense of quality insight. Orsillo and Remy rarely touch on real issues in Red Sox Nation. I've already refered to the Gagner oversight but there are others too. The guys ignored the decline of Lowell, Schilling, and Ortiz. The guys in the YES booth took on Bernie's and Paulie's aging head on; after Jetes there was no one more beloved than old 51.
