i heard behind blue eyes and heard a song on the radio that sounded the same...it goes like''i feel like im gonna break down and cry i get lonely.....so lonely,....living on my own''.
Mechanix was the original song written by Metallica when Dave Mustaine used to be the lead guitarrist, you can see even on the kill'em all album mustaines name in a lot of the songs, it wasn't a ripp off he helped compose that song! and yes behind blue eyes is originally from the who!
Would love to know who some of the poster's favorite bands are because I guarantee THEY too have ripped off songs. Folks, this is an age old debate. Wanna know who the gultiest band of all is doing this? They are called LED FUCKING ZEPPELIN. Maybe Robert Plant should think before he rags on Coverdale as Plant himself is NOT a unique vocalist.
yes, original is made by the who,but the original song doesn't have that intro like limp bizkit's version which is probably ripped from angels fall first.i am pretty sure it is
A lot of these are just what we like to call "influence." This abstract concept is when one musician hears something, likes it, and takes inspiration from it. While there are legitimate rip off songs out there (mostly in the pop, hip hop, and alternative worlds), many of these are not.
how can limp bizkit be a ripoff from within temptation when the beat and melody is exactly the same like The Who...who wrote the original song in the 1971? Besides, as Limp Bizkit stated it's a cover with his own twist to the song so he never claimed it was an original song he wrote. By your logic, you are implying that Nightwish ripped off The Who...which is probably untrue
I don't think this guy realizes that "behind blue eyes" was first done by the who, the one in this video is just a cover. As for the one song that sounds like beethoven... well, that song is just stupid anyways. If you really want to shock people you have to show them that their favorite songs stole from other songs, not some random song stealing from a famous one.
Enter Sandman and The four horsemen aren´t ripped of...
Kirk Hammet wrote a riff for Metallica, but that hadn´t sounded like the Final Version. They changed many, many things and the intro wasn´t the first riff.
Dave Mustaine Wrote "The Mechanix" for Metallica. They kicked him out before the records for their first album started. On Kill´em All the song is called "The Four Horsemen.
And i think that Master of Puppets sounds a bit similar to the song of David Bowie, is a coincidence.
You do realize that Dave Mustaine was IN Metallica in 1982, right? He was fired for his aggressive behavior during his frequent drunkeness before Kill Em All was recorded. Mechanix was a Metallica song that got reworked into The Four Horsemen. Megadeth didn't release their debut until 1985. A band can't rip off a song that was written by one of their members.
@MrPsyKOlogical yea thats about the only song dave fully wrote himself was the mechanix fourhorseman has changed lyrics and a added part which is better in my opinion
@dio52 actually when dave left he told james that he did not give him permission to use any of his material. of course metallica generally having more money than him at any given moment he had no way of fighting them
everybody copies or "borrows" from someone else.....Robby Krieger from the Doors had a lick and Ace Frehley from KISS "Borrowed" it and in turn Pearl Jam "Borrowed" it from him....it happens
Gah... Dave was the original writer of the mechanix (which later, changed by lars and james, became the four horsemen on kill em'all. dave still used mechanix on his first album with megadeth, but kept it to the original sound that he wrote.) metallica used alot of his old material. his name appears on the writing credits though, so they are all in the clear.
The beethoven one is stupid. copyright only exists for 70 years after the original owner has died. it becomes 'public domain' meaning anyone can use it.
The mechanix and the four horsemen are the same song dave mustaine was originally in metallica and brought the mechanix to metallica when he was in the band, but they decises to change the lyrics and call it the four horsemen.
Holy shit, what an awful rip off video. The only songs on here that seem like legit rip offs are the Maiden riff by Papa Roach and maybe Lustra by Miley Cyrus. Nas is a sample, Megadeth and Nelson are from the same year, so it's really unlikely that it's stolen. Obviously Behind Blue Eyes was before the Nightwish song, and even then they aren't that similar. Mustaine and Beethoven were credited. Enter Sandman and Excel aren't that similar. MOP is a very simple progression.
Mechanix = the four horsemen. Dave Mustaine wrote the song when he played in Metallica, but then he fled/got kicked out; Metallica released kill 'em all -album with the four horsemen -song with different lyrics. Because it's a great song. Later Mustaine releashed the mechanix -song because he wrote the song, with the original lyrics... And btw The Who wrote Behind Blue Eyes.
Get smart, some of this is done on purpose with an agreement from the original artist. It's by design. Oh and it only makes you look stupid if you become popular. And that's a good problem. lol
at 0.46 but isn't all rap music a rip off of other songs as a music it has no originality at all.... never be classed as music in the first place.............
A lot of these are samples or the people they 'ripped off' were credited for what they used in their songs. I think you have a misconception of 'ripped off'. That or you just don't check facts. Which makes YOU look stupid.
Technically, Enter Sandman uses a variation of a tritone, which is also known as "The Devil's Note" and "diabolus in musica". Black Sabbath's self-titled song was one of the first to use it. So it's not really a rip-off, just a variation on a musical interval.
@1979alien megadeth version "mechanix" was the song written with metallica..... hetfield changed the lyrics... and he got wtiting credit so its not a rip off.... and megadeth is my favorite band but i think the four horseman is better..... wouldve caused a lot less hate if they got mustaines permission tho
I have created guitar riffs and been told it was something else, I said BS! Then heard a song by a band I never heard of and it was incredibly close! Guess there are only seven musical notes, and six strings on a guitar...so your bound to run into similarities, in fact, with the more musicians and songs, it is a mathematical certainty!
The song was Mechanix... when Dave left they changed the lyrics and renamed it The Four Horsemen! They know its the same song! I have Metallica bootlegs with them playing Mechanix and YES they even let Dave sing lead on that one, it was HIS song.
wow never realised it but papa roach totally ripped off maiden. Anyway u guys wanna talk about ripping off? Van halen ripped off the kinks with a song called "u really got me" not only did they musically rip it off..but they stole the words too. They also stole a Beach Boys song called "cali girls" they also stole a Motle Crue song called "shout at the devil" but changed it too "runnin with devil" so people dont notice. They also stole one called "jump" which i believe to be a stones song
good list however...the mechanix i believe was written by mustaine while he was in metallica. after he left metallica kept the song and changed the name to four horsemen
C'MON MAN! theres only 11 notes in music and they can only be played so many times in different tempo's and time and key signatures before all music starts to sound similar. its very hard to be original as a musician nowadays cos there's so much music out there thats all been done already. though i do agree with you bout metallica and mustaine thing, i love metallica but they did rip him off big time. good vid.
dave mustaine wrote mechanix and the four horsemean from the same riff! so when he made megadeth he saw that metallica took the four horsemen so he took mechanix. its not illegal to take a song that you wrote dumbfuck! behind blue eyes was made by the who in 1971 and limp bizcuit did a COVER!
lmao... if your gonna do a video like this at least have some knowledge. The Four Horseman and The Mechanix are the same song basically... wrote by D Mustaine
Enter Sandman barely sounds the same to the other song Dave Mustaine was in metallica in 1982 and made Four Horsemen with them Master of Puppets idk mabye metallica wanted to do that cause they thought it was brutal sounding and wanted to kinda cover that little part but idk .. But seriously maybe bands wanna make some songs to kinda tribute there favorite bands or songs just leave them alone
To All.. you half to ask yourself.. would the later songs that sound like ones that got ripped off exist if it wasn't for the original sounding songs? if so.. why would you want to copy someones else's material instead of being original?
You're stupid, you should check the info about the band AND songs before you make these. most of these are similiar becouse of influence and legally copying
most of this excerpts are just simple chord progressions which have been used for decades (or even centuries) in all kinds of music. it is no coincidence that some offem sound similar but its not ripping off! especially mechanix/horsemen isn't ripped off just read the backstory and you'll know
Dave Mustaine was in metallica when they wrote the four horseman and then metallica kicked him out and Dave changed the lyrics of the four horseman and made mechanix....so your facts are messed up
When dave mustaine recorded the song when he was in metallica, it became property of metallica, thats the way it goes, even though he mae the chord progression.
Dave left and had no longer the sole right of his songs released or unreleased, so while he released the mechanix with Megadeth, Metallica did the same and place the lyrics for the 4 horsemen under it.
So if you want to point some fingers to a band whos ripping who off, it should be megadeth
jay-z didnt stole anything from fur elise, since its past 70 years, they have the right to use it, and i dont think they tried to hide the obvious fact.
Behind Blue Eyes is a cover from The Who's Behind Blue Eyes, so isnt nightwish the supposed ripp off and not Limp Bizkit, since they made a cover of it(a very bad one)
funny u place only dave Mustaine on the mechanix, u do know he was in metallica back then?
this is just ridicolus. just cause some songs use the same chord progression its a friggin ripp of. its like, amagad, they use E opened palm mutes, they ripped of the first guy who did it.
scotty doesnt know ripped that riff off from sum 41 "still waiting" in 2002 then you can say miley ripped it off in 2006.. The dave mustang/ Metallica stuff if a given Dave played/ work for Metallica then can use it....
the four horsemen and mechanix are the same song , mustaine create it when he was in metallica , and played it whit them , but when he leave metallica still owns the right to play that song because a law , so they changed the lyrics.
The second caveman banging a drum beat on an old log was only copying the first caveman. The next generation of music will always copy the last. Like it or not, this is how music works...
Its taken you that long to realize that everyone is ripping off everyone?
Music, film, books etc...
There hasn't been originality since Vivaldi's 4 seasons (lol)
Come-on man, get a grip.
Like Lemmy once said, who gives a fuck if the kids are ripping Motorhead off. If its loud and heavy and sounds good, who gives a fuck? Good luck to 'em with success.
It keeps the spirit alive ...the rest is history ;-)

The Mechanix was a song Dave wrote, and published short after leaving metallica
tagmission 7 months ago
C'MON MAN! theres only 11 notes in music and they can only be played so many times in different tempo's and time and key signatures before all music starts to sound similar. its very hard to be original as a musician nowadays cos there's so much music out there thats all been done already. though i do agree with you bout metallica and mustaine thing, i love metallica but they did rip him off big time. good vid.
Themrjamman1990 7 months ago
dave mustaine wrote mechanix and the four horsemean from the same riff! so when he made megadeth he saw that metallica took the four horsemen so he took mechanix. its not illegal to take a song that you wrote dumbfuck! behind blue eyes was made by the who in 1971 and limp bizcuit did a COVER!

Check your facts: Behind blue eyes was originally made by The Who in the late 60's/early 70's...

lmao... if your gonna do a video like this at least have some knowledge. The Four Horseman and The Mechanix are the same song basically... wrote by D Mustaine
swilliams070889 7 months ago
Enter Sandman barely sounds the same to the other song Dave Mustaine was in metallica in 1982 and made Four Horsemen with them Master of Puppets idk mabye metallica wanted to do that cause they thought it was brutal sounding and wanted to kinda cover that little part but idk .. But seriously maybe bands wanna make some songs to kinda tribute there favorite bands or songs just leave them alone

conclusion: metallica are the masters of rip off
resman4 7 months ago
To All.. you half to ask yourself.. would the later songs that sound like ones that got ripped off exist if it wasn't for the original sounding songs? if so.. why would you want to copy someones else's material instead of being original?

You're stupid, you should check the info about the band AND songs before you make these. most of these are similiar becouse of influence and legally copying

dave mustaine wrote mechanix while he was in metallica then he was kicked out so the song kinda belongs to both of them...

For "The Four Horsemen/Mechanix, Hetfield and Mustaine got both the rights on this song, cause they wrote it before Dave got fired from Metallica.
Swanton619OfDX 8 months ago
You're lame. Behind Blue Eyes is a cover of the original song by The Who.

it seems that metallica is the #1 rippers in the world
sa3dorfe3e 8 months ago
most of this excerpts are just simple chord progressions which have been used for decades (or even centuries) in all kinds of music. it is no coincidence that some offem sound similar but its not ripping off! especially mechanix/horsemen isn't ripped off just read the backstory and you'll know
soadfe 8 months ago
Andy Warhol uses a similar riff but master of puppets is in power chords and includes alot more different notes
KIATynut 8 months ago
Dave Mustaine was in metallica when they wrote the four horseman and then metallica kicked him out and Dave changed the lyrics of the four horseman and made mechanix....so your facts are messed up
KIATynut 8 months ago
What about Stone Temple Pilots? They're the biggest rip-offs in history. Post some of their bullshit. I ain't got time...I'm employed!
radpcdrums 8 months ago
to state my fact about the mechanix more.
TerreurTerence 8 months ago
@TerreurTerence Yeah, not to mention the fact that Megadeth have ripped Metallica off countless times after Kill 'em All.

Don't make such video's...
it just makes you look stupid
jay-z didnt stole anything from fur elise, since its past 70 years, they have the right to use it, and i dont think they tried to hide the obvious fact.
Behind Blue Eyes is a cover from The Who's Behind Blue Eyes, so isnt nightwish the supposed ripp off and not Limp Bizkit, since they made a cover of it(a very bad one)
funny u place only dave Mustaine on the mechanix, u do know he was in metallica back then?
idiot

Wow....someone thought that Limp Bizkit wrote Behind Blue Eyes. That's just sad.
INTOtheVOID11 8 months ago
this is just ridicolus. just cause some songs use the same chord progression its a friggin ripp of. its like, amagad, they use E opened palm mutes, they ripped of the first guy who did it.

the four horsemen and mechanix are the same song , mustaine create it when he was in metallica , and played it whit them , but when he leave metallica still owns the right to play that song because a law , so they changed the lyrics.

The second caveman banging a drum beat on an old log was only copying the first caveman. The next generation of music will always copy the last. Like it or not, this is how music works...
SHSLaxstar13 9 months ago
this is so dumb...
dave wrote mechanix in 1982.. metallica recorded four horsemen in 1983, and megadeth recorded mechanix in 1984...
also i think this hiphop stuff was intenionally taken from beethoven cause they too lazy to make a new sample they could stutter to.
TheWolvesCurse 9 months ago
@TheWolvesCurse you don't make new samples. Using the beethoven song to create a rap beat is sampling, creating an something original isn't sampling.
npetrie76 9 months ago
omg -.- dave wrote the riff so technically metallica ripped of megadet (Dave Mustaine)
trash4evr 9 months ago
Dave Mustaine created The Mechanix (Megadeth) and The Four Horsemen (Metallica),so,not plagiarism
peterhatakekakashi 9 months ago
Its taken you that long to realize that everyone is ripping off everyone?
Music, film, books etc...
There hasn't been originality since Vivaldi's 4 seasons (lol)
Come-on man, get a grip.
Like Lemmy once said, who gives a fuck if the kids are ripping Motorhead off. If its loud and heavy and sounds good, who gives a fuck? Good luck to 'em with success.
It keeps the spirit alive ...the rest is history ;-)

the thing about beethoven and copyright is that after the guy's been dead for more than 70 years you can use his songs in any way you want
