God, how do people NOT get this advert? These airport workers just finished a work of day, and they finished with having a race, which is fun and happy like eating a cadburys chocolate bar :D
I love how thick people are on here "What has this got to do with Chocolate?". There is a very small amount of adverts that are about the product being sold, and they're usually cheaply dubbed european imports. Adverts are very clever, it's more about emotion and experience then plain old listing the benefits of a product......problem is some of the GP need to catch up as they evidently can't pick up on that!
It has nothing to do with the trucks. Its the ad and the music that are so well put together means you will remember the ad and the song and therefore remember the chocolate...
The creative team behind this seem to be regressing to circa 1983 and being 13 again.
Are we now supposed to be merely impressed by the budget and logistics? They seem intent in excelling at overblown and empty pieces of advertising. Maybe the original Bravia 'Balls' ad owed its poetry and nuance to the Director rather than the creative team. The follow-up work, a prime example being Bravia 'Bunnies', suggests it was a one-off. This ad looks like further evidence.
nice to hear someone nod towards a director in one of these things. directors do sometimes have to bail out or provide original spins to poor creative. I agree that was probably the case on balls (that music, the melancholy tone, gave it depth and stopped it being simply spectacle), I also agree this is rubbish, not funny and does work, and that fallon have been on the slide for a while.
same here. the everyones talking about it argument is nonsense. take the cadburys flake advert starring joss stone. everyones talking abnout it because everyone HATES it. er... thats good for the brand then yeah?
completely agree, awful awful song for that ad. The gorilla ad worked cause it was a good piece of music to back it, id actually like to know what that ad would be like if they added a different track to it.
The guys that thought it would be appropriate must be about 50+. It's a horrible overplayed track, the kind you'd find if u went to a flares, or a cheesy night of karaoke. Completely ruined the ad, more suitable for a woolworths commercial.
My mate Wayne said this is why the opening of BA's Heathrow T5 was delayed - The staff were eating chocolate bars and driving the airside vehicles along the runway!!
wtf is your problem ? we won the contract for that ad over 25 production companies all over the world. It's not our fault the director's vision didn't work as well as the gorilla advert.
congratulations. what do you want a medal? its not your fault as production company, its the agency. that much is true. so why are you taking it personally? concede its no good, go win another contract. life goes on.
No need to concede. I thought you were talking about something else, my bad. I don't really like the ad either. I wish they were my contracts, i just worked on it.
Sorry but I found this uninteresting, very nearly bland. It doesnt bring anything to the table, found myself waiting for something to happen. And waiting. Gorilla worked for every reason that this doesnt. Got first comment! and its truthful.. may do well, doesnt make it good.
Both adverts were crap, neither sells chocolate. agree that the gorilla one at least had some passion to it but nothing to do with chocolate whatsoever
proof that you can't polish a turd

This is a briliant ad. The music choice is great! I like it much better than the eyebrows and gorilla ad in my opinion :)

As a huge Queen fan, I was pleasently surprised to hear this on an advert.
I remember when I first saw this and I was like 'Sweeeeeet u.u' but after watching again, it's a bit dull and not much really happens.
And the biggest shock is the fact that it's for chocolate?
Sorry but no x.x
