Um...what? Most of the shows on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon now aren't any good...at all. There are some good ones, but shows like Johny Test and Total Drama Island are terrible. Just about anything from the 80s is way better than that.The only newer cartoons still running I would ever watch are Generator Rex, Ben 10, Adventure Time, Avatar: The Last Airbender (but it ended), that new Batman cartoon, Young Justice, and Spongebob (but it's fallen into decline).

The attention to the toys was created for this special so the rest of the series (included the later movie) it's cheaper and don't need to get at this level anymore.
Cartoons are very expensive (just go check the info about Mattel's He-Man) so sadly Hasbro didn't invert more cash on the cartoon (as didn't invert on new molds and just use a "palette swap" into all the ponies).

I noticed that, too. I thought the series and all the movies following this episode were rather poorly done. The animation in this one is so much better ... it's almost movie quality, and the songs and acting was great. All the other My Little Pony episodes after this were so bad they were hard to watch. This one is a masterpiece.

this was the Pilot episode (was originally shown as a special in 2 parts
and the animation was done by marvel,the other special escape from Katrina also has better animaton than all the following episodes and films
if they all had the quality that this first one did it would have been fantastic!
still i do love this episode makes me feel 5yrs old again!
