Bungie didn't do these cutscenes. This game was by Ensemble, the guys behind Age of Mythology (among others). That's why the cutscene graphics are so different (plus they weren't rendered in game, like in the Bungie games).

No...there has always been a line of Arbiters in the covenant. Being the Arbiter of your time used to be an honor but by the time Halo 2 came around it became a mark of shame. The Arbiter in this game is NOT the Arbiter we know.

@illegalprogram it wasnt a mark of shame. the prophets just used a loophole so that they could use an admiral (im guessing since he was in charge of the fleet which followed the autumn?) of such skill in a time of war.

they explained that since the arbiters of the past always met their death to overwhelming odds on some holy mission or another that "the council will have their corpse". its because he's an arbiter that all the covenant forces treated him with respect after he became arbiter.

@RhysGarrish In order to make a Spartan, they had to have certain genes and crap like that. Also, I forgot the number but it was like 90% of the people that took the Augmentations to become Spartans died. Also, only people that took those augmentations could wear the armor, or else they would get crushed by it. There are many reasons why they couldn't mass produce Spartans. Spartan lll's however were easier to make, but it was still a challenge to find the perfect candidates for it.

'Sir' is not 'acceptable' and it has nothing to do with respect, that's just how it works. Spartans have been trained since childhood and should know this. Besides, Sergeants = E-5, CPO = E-7.

the war started because the covenant religon was based on forerunners and they ahd a device which could locate forerunner artifacts but when they saw one on harvest but the device mistook the humans for artifacts because when the forerunners dissapeared they left everything for the humans and named them their successors and the covenant high prophets got pisssed and tried to keep it a secret so they decided to wipe out man kind.
