  • I think I used to lover her. And maybe I still love her.

  • I know what this song is about but to me it´s for a good friend who was murdered two years ago and he was a week away from getting married so it reminds me of him. Bless your heart, wherever you are my friend.

  • This song is Excuses before it was Excuses. Same melody basically, just different lyrics and title.

  • Thumbs up if you're like a 90s Noah.

  • ...and they laughed at you as you packed all of your things. And they wonder why you're frustrated, and they wonder why you're so angry and is it just me or, Are. You. Fed. Up?

I can't get all the lyrics to this song, I think it's about ?lesbians?, but even as a straight white male, I have to admit that Alanis really does an amazing job at getting her emotions and point across with this very moving song.

  • @karlwhubbard its about her brother.

  • T H E B E S T

  • DAMN ALANIS.. BRING 'REAL' MUSIC BACK TO THE MAINSTREAM HUNNI.. WE FANS NEED YOU!! *SERIOUSLY**

  • one person needs to drink some cappucino with alanis...to change her opinion about this song. :)

  • This is absolutely beautiful, especially the words, as I'm going through my spiritual revelations..... I love Alanis, I miss real music that made you think!

  • This is one of her greatest songs and the setting was appropriate for it as it was up close and personal. LIke abbedmblover 2001 I too would have loved to been in the audience to experience it first hand. Very emotional song as it is a timeless acoustic classic. Thanks for posting and sharing!

  • I love Alanis Morissette!

  • "well you may never be or have a husband. you may never have or hold a child. you will learn to lose everything, we are temporary arrangements."

    goosebumps. every time. without fail.

  • this woman drives me into tears almost every time I hear her. Damn.

  • I loved this song more than I thought I could but then I found out what its written about and I fell in love with it all over again. She's a true poet, putting life into lyrics.

  • not only one of the all-time excellent lyricists, but also able to perform her songs. i reckon this is for her bro', who's a gayer, and this song's for him. and it's blisteringly honest, and disengenuous, and syeeewperb. and felt. oi.
