Thanks, and by the way, sorry if this is annoying, but the TKs r pronounced
Sae-tihn tufs. Like the devil. They call them that due to its gothic colorway. This is only for future referance, so apologies if this reflects as an annoyance
Got a few things coming up, but I've been wanting to do some more in depth trick tips since I posted the Impossible one a long time ago... as soon as I get my next two real clips up, I'm going to make a sincere effort to get back on the tutorial stuff. The one I did was super fun to make, and I like getting geeked out... plus I can up long videos and really explain stuff now. So... hell yeah.
Dude that line that was from your point of view at the end was sick.....wait what am i saying the whole video was sick haha keep doing what you're doing man
Thanks Dj! First time I ever reviewed shoes... all the other reviews I saw on YT were from shoe collectors, but I wanted to do something more skate-centric. I'm still kicking in both pairs, really digging them a lot! Thanks again for the good words, stoked!
Well, as mentioned in the vid, they fit really true (I'm a size 9.5 US)... the TK's are a bit slimmer around the foot... more snug... the Muska's have a bit more width to them, but they both feel perfectly fine.
...though the TK's make me feel like I have magical ninja powers. hehe
@grimcity Got a reply from Suprafootwear they are almost the same material as the other TK's and the same features/durability etc. so yeah i think im going for them! Thanks for the advice/support keep on doing with what you are doing! Awesome skater awesome guy!
@grimcity Haha! Yeah i guess im taking my 43 EU Then, I really like the black with red sole but on the other side its kinda boring comparing to the charcoal neoprene tuf with purple accents and purple sole. so yeah, what do you think? Im considering buying the so called "Wet Pack" ( Charcoal neoprene tuf w/ purple )
I can't speak to the durability of the treated neoprene, but they look awesome as hell! I think I saw 'em on Supras Instagram a little while back. Super good looks.
I ate shit so bad on that damn thing! It's not a big ollie, but you have to hit it nearly 90 degrees but still with some forward motion... I got pitched off and rolled at least 10 times, haha! I was bleeding after that day, had to take a week off because of bruises and the head knock, too. Damn I love skateboarding! w00t! Small Time Soldiers for life!
Today I got the Muska Skylow 1.5 Black canvas/brown gum and they feel pretty comfortable but its snowing so can't skate them until around april or may :/
The toughest soles I can recall having were on a pair of old cupsole iPaths, but that was before they got bought out, so it's been a while... with vulc though, they're gonna get bald pretty quick in comparison if you're skating on a regular basis. I recall some Nikes being pretty tough, but again, haven't skated in any for a long time. Cheers!
For cupsoles, I've had good and bad luck with nearly every brand... when I can, I try to get gum rubber (the brown/natural-looking color like on the Duffs in the vid). The gum rubber can be tricky though, best if you can touch it before buying it.
Hey man, you should check out footprint insoles! They sound great and I'm thinking of getting a pair but haven't seen any feedback on them, they sound right up your street! Anyway I'd love to see you do a review on them, their site is foorprintinsoletechnology! Anyway great vid!
Ah, that's actually the lenses... I used a .43 wide angle conversion lens for some parts and a .3x fisheye for a lot of it. I shoot with wide angle and fisheye conversion lenses a lot since I tend to self-film for the reviews... I try to set up the shots like a photographer taking single-shot sequences.
BTW- the conversion lenses I use range between $30 and $100, the high end ones are too much (considering 99% of my recordings are for YT).
"Skateboarding Is My Lifetime Sport" has detailed truck reviews as well (Theeve TIAX, Venture Low/High, Thunder, Indy, Destructo, etc). Those are the only other skate related blogs that go as in depth as your reviews. Not a contest. Not comparing. Just an fyi of cool sites (because detailed, relevant reviews are hard to find).
Nike Harbor is a Vulc with airbag. Zoom air (webbed nitrogen mini pillow design) but not sure if set into the actual footbed or part of the (inserted) insole. btw: Ripped Laces blog just reviewed the Skytop III cupsole and really liked it.
Never been, but always mean to go... it's just that I work in BR, so sometimes hit that park, and I live literally around the corner from Dreamland so it's hard to get out, haha. I need to go though, when I do I'll holla!
I help represent my local shop (Small Time Skates) and Flat Fitty headwear. I also beta test stuff for Deluxe sometimes, but it's not a sponsor thing- they're friends and they know I'll geek out on whatever they send. Peace!
another banger of a vid BRutha. rail to big bank? insane!! I don't even want to drop-in to that. [keep the kids off the ketchup folks. it's a gateway condiment]
Glad you got a kick out of it! I'm going to enter again next year, but film especially for it... but silly (maybe with a theme of some sort). Still got time to think about that one! haha
LOL packets and packets of... ketchup. good info tho mang, u learned me about the vulc and other sole. That little janky white rail made me laugh i've skated those before.
@grimcity a friend sold me an element flatbar rail for 20 bucks! 13" max height 6' long and 4" wide. saved myself over 80 bucks, and it's legit. :) if ur ever in the area we might just have to skate.
Thanks man! After I uploaded it I looked at other reviews, but they were mainly by shoe collectors, which is fine, but nothing really about skatability. So far I'm pretty impressed!
Honestly supras sneakerhead following has always turned me off about the brand. Although after seeing the insoles, the hidden lacing feature, and how they actually almost feel like an ankle brace. It seems like a really good shoe to recommend to people who roll their ankles/deal with constant heel bruising.
Thank you for finally uploading an answer to explain cupsole/vulcanized for those who don't already know!
hey man, I really appreciate that! Hearing the vulc/cup q on sb-c (and in real life) is really what made me want to address it since everyone else seems to figure that everyone already knows what it means, haha! See ya at the clubhouse, brotha!
