@brewmondoe You could record the audio output to your laptop if you have some software (Goldwave [PC] or Audacity [Mac] are good free options), and I'd suggest an audio interface rather than your laptop's audio input, which is likely to be "noisy", if it has one. You can't save out sequences as MIDI or the positions of the knobs because it's all analog. Or analogue, for our British English spellers :-)
@brewmondoe Yes. You could do it two ways. 1) Use the CA-110 to trigger the Monotribe's sounds by playing one of the automatic rhythms on the Casio and plugging its audio output into the Monotribe's Sync input. 2) Play anything you like on the CA-110 and plug the Casio's audio output into the Monotribe's audio input, which would let you filter the Casio's sound on the Monotribe.
@billbobkid2 :-) It can make less annoying sounds, but that wouldn't be showing it off its full potential. I'm hoping to post a video of it hooked up to my Roland TR-707 soon in a more realistic set-up.
When processing external audio does the VCO have to sound/sequencer have to be running? Also, if so, is the external audio effected by the gate control? Thanks!
@TheWhokulele As far as I can tell, yes, the synth part must be playing for the audio to be passed through (unlike the Monotron, which will pass the audio through regardless).
And yes, the audio input is affected by all the synth controls, including the gate time (note length), envelope, LFO etc.
The way I've used it with an audio input is to fill all the notes and set them playing, using a single note frequency that's in key with the audio that's being processed.
can i save my work to a laptop?
