  • I say one yrs old after that use a breast pump and bottle/cup feed if you please

  • What track are you playing?

  • Your body is able to nurse up to 5years... It's NOT anything nasty.. It's nature & a way of LIFE.. Public nursing, I say to each, it's own.. When your child is hungry, you do what you have to do, when & where you have to do it! Some people feel comfortably enough, to cover up where ever they are & NURSE their child & some women prefer complete pricvacy.. It's all what makes the mother comfortable.. Nursing a child & sexual pleasures completely contrast.. The feelings are completely OPPOSITES!

  • mama titty??? LMAOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In Toni Morrison's book, Song of Solomon, one character is nick-named milkman. His mother breast fed him for a very long time because she was lonely in her marriage with his father and it comforted her to still treat Macon (milkman) like a baby by breastfeeding him. Maybe they're scared to let their babies grow up. I don't personally understand it:)

  • i have no comment ! the whole damn video was......

    LMAO !

  • I'm sorry you were formula fed:(

  • and youre claiming breastfeeding is wrong.. so feeding formula aka artificial aka FAKE milk is okay? then drinking from cows is okay? most of the American minds are ignorant and corrupt with stupid beliefs. and think again, most of us drank from our mothers too and if it's so gross - do you hate your mom for doing that to you? maybe to 4 years old is a little ehh though but breastfeeding in general is a natural part in life. accept it.

  • it's an American norm to view breasts as a sexual object but they were actually made to feed babies.. I would think around 2-3 is a good age to stop. I agree with whatafeeling88 and disagree with missylou. and missylou, if you see someone breastfeed then call the cops. I'd LOVE to hear what happens.. you'll just look like a fool.

  • Educate yourself before you spout ignorant opinions. Just because a child has teeth doesn't mean it hurts- children position their tongue and teeth in a way so it doesn't hurt when they breastfeed.

The World Health Organisation recommends breastfeeding a MINIMUM of 2 YEARS. Minimum.

Breastmilk is beneficial to people of all ages- in terms of calories, antibodies, vitamins and fluid intake.

  • @yianiamber if your kid can remember sucking your titty something's wrong

  • @whatafeeling88 thats ur opinion and many ppl disagree with it you cant get upset at that... i actually agree with B.scott! im sorry idc if the age for a child to be weened is 2-8 years old i need u to not be suckin on the tit when u can eat solid foods! thats ridiculous and u knwo it is and its not to attack anybodys parenting skills

  • I love ignorant people who try to rant about something that they know nothing about. The world health organization recommends breastfeeding up to 6 months on demand, and after that, for children to be breastfed with supplementary foods up to 2 years and beyond. The natural weaning stage for a child is between 2 1/2 years old to 8 years old.

  • Well considering that they come from Ethiopia, I would consider this more a cultural thing and from a famine stricken country then it is probably a way to survive. I would judge this case a little less severely. Most cases that is WAY too old but this is more or less a cultural thing.

  • there are plenty of people in america who do this same thing. Raising children is not about worrying about what people think but giving your children the best that you can. Some parents, who do choose to breastfeed, want to let their children wean peacefully and naturally. Now, are parents who either bottle-feed or wean at 2 years old bad parents? Not at all. Are parents who choose to let their children breastfeed til 4 or 5 wrong? No.

  • And children who are about 4, they breastfeed much much less often than an infant, it's more of a comfort thing than nutrition thing. So its not like that's the kids only form of nutrition and the kid is breastfeeding often.

  • So I get a thumbs down because I actually know what I'm talking about? I love ignorance.

  • Well then its better to wean them since its no longer a nutritional thing. Its not cruel to wean a child if its done correctly. We wean them off pacifiers don't we? Breasts are not supposed to be used indefinitely. It is different in other cultures and I can see the need for it in famine stricken areas. It's not natural to see children over the age of 2 in this country nursing. Breastfeeding is supposed to be nutrional and I think sometimes its mom who does not want to let go.

  • I never said it was cruel to wean a child. I just don't think its fair to give moms who want to do it naturally a hard time. There are plenty of mothers who do this in this country. I'm sure sometimes it is the mom who doesn't want to let go just as I'm sure there are some moms who want their children to stop breastfeeding but want them to gradually stop. I"m sure that that 4 year old probably only breast feeds maybe once a day at the most.

  • Breasts are meant for the children that the woman has. The only reason people think this is wrong is because we've been taught to view breasts as sexual objects and only sexual objects.

  • Eww that's gross, and i think breastfeeding in public is innapropriate as well since you asked. no one wants to see that! they can do it at home or something, seriously yukkk!

  • I think that when they start growing teeth it is time to stop the breastfeeding ^^

  • yeah i think he is a guy.. but i dont know :S :P

  • is that a guy i mean who ever who was talking

  • yes it is a man

  • Comment removed

  • This is very unhealthy for this child. We hope that this child's teeth are not at risk. I personally think that there is a time and place for the deed.

  • "Mama titty," what he need a cup of milk and a plate.

  • well I'd say when there old enough to ask for the "titty" it's time to cut them of it! but as a proud lesbian I'm not one to talk.. cause I love me some Titty!!! and I'm 23... shhhhhh

  • Honestly,I think when they start teething.

  • sarahjeanful1 if u don't care what he thinks why are u watching the videos must i read somebody once again!!!!if the child is old enough to talk and walk that's it...and this is america not the u.k!!!ok miss....and noone said it was wrong to breast feed more like no WHEN THE FUCK IS WHEN~~~...IF YOUR CHILD IS WALKING AND TALKING WHICH YOU'RE BOYS PROBABLY WERE AT 3 THAT'S SHAME ON U...so if u don't care about what he has to say don't watch his shit!!!!ok.....u won't try to read my love muffin

  • ahah lmfao!

  • B baby, I'd call social services. Something does not sound right about that. 8 months to a yr. anything more than that the mama is enjoying! That is disgusting imagine the pyschological damage she is inflicting upon that child! He's gonna have to deal with this when he's older!

  • I watched a BBC America Documentary where a woman was breastfeeding her 10 and 8 year old daughters.

  • i slapped my broter and asked him do u kno who bscott is and he was like no and so i made him watchsom vids wit me then asked him do u kno who bscott is he said oh yes i do no from this tuesday on he has been asking everyone in the world random people do u kno who bscott is

  • If the child can walk over to the meal it is well past time for you to pop your tittie outta they mouth and give they ass a sippy cup......I can't even get with folks doin that for a child that old. I breastfed all 3 of my kids but there are limits to everything!

  • diggs1976...??? LAMEE.. STOP iT.. yU kNO!!! THAT "bAbY" iS TOO bIG

  • B... i FKN LOVE YU!!

YOOh ARE [SUCH] A bEAUtifUl MANN!

  • ROFL @ "If i get got, i'ma get got saving my t.v."

Chile, you crazy but cute as hell.

  • u r out thereeee

  • Breast feeding is okay in public. I was always discreet. I never felt that I had to hide the fact that I was breast feeding but I did cover up. Breastfeeding a 4 year old is way to old. I mean really.

I love your videos. You are truly a Southern Belle.

  • You stop breast feeding when the kid starts cutting teeth. You fuckin kiddin me! Anyone that breast feeds past that point is messed up in the head. I when your child can ask for the titty its time to take the nipple away. It starts to make me think that some of these moms that breast feed for that long begin to like it. If your that fucked up someone need to call cps lol nasty bitches

  • @Missylou they should get themselves a man lol

  • lmaoooo omg!

  • until the gett teeth

  • Oh-Em-Gee! Lmao! it is a crying shame. but on the other hand my mommy breast fed me till i was almost in kindergarten...because my pediatrician told her that it was okay and that its very healthy!

so im not ashamed...maybe thats why im so smart...LOL haha

    but ii loveu B.Scott

    --Love Muffin

  • Mama tity. LOL. I think 1 and a half.

  • LMAO when the baby can ask u for the titi thats abut were u should draw then line.. Or when they can pull it out for them selves an start suckin..

  • the wig!?

  • ..anywho, but in response to the video at hand, I 'd have to agree with iceangle. I think the proper time to stop breast feeding is when that child starts to grow teeth, or maybe before-like when they are able to hold their "ba-ba's".

  • I don't normally do this, but you are SO pretty!

  • i breastfeeding my son when he started getting teeth. and its ok to breastfeed in public as long as you go into a rest room or cover up

  • Are you barking after you do your B Scott song in the beginning? hahaha

  • He's saying, "hi hi hi hi hi!!"

  • I say till age 1 if you wish to continue though use what the store gave you a bottle baby! and in public okay as long as you have it covered up NO ONE wants to see that it's not only rude, but pretty nasty.

  • There is nothing wrong with giving your child breast milk for the rest of their life; however, a woman should stop putting her tittie in her kids mouth when they are able to hold a bottle. Express the milk and give it to them through another source. It's just gross in my opinion to have your walking, talking, 4 year old sucking on the tit.

  • kids will breast feed for life if you dont wein them towards a bottle some will just not want anymore but for the ones that will keep going and going its up to youto get them onto a bottle or if you gonna breast feed till 4 or five ...a sippy cup!lol

  • It is a fact that you can breast feed until a child is five years of age

  • you can breastfeed your child for 20 years if you wanted to .. although it is gross woman can naturally produce milk even if they haven't ever been pregnant that's a fact my mom is a prenatal nutritionist and does a bunch of other stuff with mothers and babies

  • Thats not nice B, so what if she has a mattress on the floor?. Probably she cant afford anythin else

  • Stop breastfeeding at 8 months or when they get their first tooth and give them milk in a bottle and some cereal in it.

  • ur retarded...

  • I STOP BREASTFEEDING AT 6MONTHS..$HIT I NEEDED A DRINK(ALCOHOL THAT IS)lol..NOT GOOD TO DRINK ALCOHOL AND BREASTFEED AT THE SAME TIME

  • If I get got. love.

anyway I think up to 2 is tolerable BUT pushing it... i'm sad to say that i know two women who have had babies reach that point where they come over and pull out mama's titty like they just popped their own bottle out the microwave.. what??

    gross.

and ummmm public breast feeding needs to be acceptable, baby's gotta eat and mama gotta get that paper or whatever her hustlebunny ass is out there doing...

as long she wraps it up before baby straps it up (cover the titty) we good

  • Ugh. I hate ignorant people with the passion of the Christ.

    Shutup!

  • I'm the ignorant one here LOL. This lady needs some freakin manners, and you people who think its ok or even funny that she's rambling like she's better than the people she's mocking... you are sad. Why do bitches (men and women) like her exist? Tell my why, I don't know.

But those of you who praise her are even worse.

  • First of all.. this is a man. Second of all, wait there will not be a second of all because i do not have time to waste on your dusty ass. You have been dismissed. And if I so happen to find a spare minute that I'm bored outta my mind, then I might.. MIGHT correct your ignorance.

    -Until then.

  • "This lady" points to the video, not you idiot. Now go waste your life.

  • ummm Bscott is a man a pretty man but still a MAN

  • umm i hope you know this is a dude

  • he just hopes its a woman cuz he wants to do him w/o other ppl noeing

  • "The traulope (troll-oupe) with a banshee", omg, -I'm dying! I love you!!!! kisses doll!

  • As a woman with a child. . . That is outrageous. What is her problem? She is going to give that child a complex when he is older. The age of 1 is when you need to ween then from bottles and pacafiers. They have teeth at this point and can handle solid food. They should be on solid food. Or at least that gerber baby food.

As far as breast feeding in public? I've seen women very discreatly do it. With a cloth covering them. If they can do it like that then I don't have a problem.

    Love you!

  • i loved u big the big hair

  • if they are old enough to ask for it, they are too old for it....but some people breast feed their children untill they are 5 years old, I know freaky right

  • lol... u r 2 silly

  • LMAO at 3:10, (do you)

  • I stopped nursing my son at about 18 months. Nursing him at night was the hardest to break him of because they crave the comfort. As far as nursing in public, sometimes you can't avoid it. I would say it's definitely more appropriate to try and take measures against the need to nurse in public though.

  • I breastfed my son till he was 18 months and I'm still breastfeeding my 6 month old daughter. I hope to breastfeed her till she's 2, but I'll let her decide when to stop, just like I did with my son.

  • LMAO, "mama titty"

well im going to be breastfeeding once my baby is born and I will stop once they get teeth, lol

  • i just wanna say i fucking love you and one day i hope my videos are as fab as yours are!!!!!!!!!

  • hahahahhahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ..too funny

  • i breastfed my twins til they were 6 months. lol if he can ask for the titty by name, its time to stop nursing him lmaooooo

  • The average age for weaning around the world is 4-5 years old. This isn't weird or gross at all. I commend her for giving her child the best nutrition possible for the longest time that she could. Just because we live in a country where the majority of women don't even breastfeed, doesn't make it the right thing to do.

  • whoa, whoa....sweetie, the weaning age, for everything from pacifiers and bottles, is a year old. What the HELL do you need to BREASTFEED a 2 and 3 and up year old child for? The suckling stage is NOT to be prolonged. At least pump the shit!

  • 3:10 LMFAO... go b.. you're funny!!

  • lmaooo i swear i tell my teenagers to watch B. Scott

  • i saw that video/documentary opn the lady that breast fed til 8. both my aunt & uncle ar5e pediatricians and say a woman can pyscilogicaly until age 5 but most women stop before age 2. i know i was for 18th months. and i don't think he was "freaked/grossed" out about the breast it was the age!!! yes 4 is pretty unheard of in the states but she it may not be in her culture...love you b scott!! xxoo

  • My mother stopped breastfeeding us when we were old enough to BITE her

That was her cut-off point. And I totally agree

  • there was a documentary on TV, this woman was breast feeding her kids and they were 8 years old. it was just wrong!!! but like you said, once they can talk or whatever its just wrong

  • i have to agree with u b.scott because i breastfead my 2 boys until they were 1 me being me i'm not having nothing with teeth on my breast if he can say tit he can use a dam cup he 4 anyway my question is what is she going to do when he starts school when he turns 5? love u b.scoot

  • i think culture has to do with how long she does it. you said she is Ethiopian if im not mistaken. her being of another country she may have different beliefs so there for she may raise her children differently. i hate when my mama breastfeed my little brother it just doesn't look right to me and hes 6 weeks old but hey who am i to say what looks right and what doesn't. im only 13 nobody will listen to me anyway lol

  • I am a woman that breastfeed until she was 6mos. When she got a tooth and bit my titty it was over! I believe when a child can tell you they want to nurse, they need to stop. I do not believe you should bf up to 5. As a teacher I can not see how these terrible mouthed kindergartners could still be on the breast. If you can sing all the songs on the radio and cuss, get a damn cup!!!!!!!!

  • I'm all for breastfeeding because of the health benefits for both the child and the mother...however, personally i feel that if a child is on table food then why are you still breastfeeding?? there are other types of milk that have tremendous health benefits for chldren. Also, weaning children off of breast milk is just another step in the process of the child becoming a little more independent...like when a child starts to sleep in their own bed...

  • While I'm on my rant...what is so gross about it? Is it because it's a titty that the kid is sucking on? Do "you" think that our breast were made for our partners pleasure? That is part of the problem, womens breast have becomes over sexualized...THEY MAKE MILK FOR A REASON!!! Have "you" ever did research on the benefits of breastfeeding?

  • Unfortunately most people have no clue about the function of breasts nor the benefits of breastfeeding (no matter HOW long). It's pretty much mostly Western cultures, too.

  • First...I love your videos, but I have to disagree. I have 3 kids and have breastfeed all of them. Personaly 4yrs old is to old for me, but we as Americans have things backwards. We will willing feed our children milk from a cow, made a designed by God for baby cows...and we see nothing wrong with this. But "we" are disgusted when a woman provides milk, made and designed for humans, to our offspring. If the mothers body is still making it then it must be meant for her to provide it to her child

  • i stoped brestfeading when my baby was 7 months!!!! then she went to he bottle!!!

  • I had the same reaction when I saw my neighbor breastfeed her 7yr old son...I was like Good Lord he needs to start using a sippy cup coz u know its bad when the mother has to go to his grade school during break hrs to make sure he gets his daily feeding...it was just a mess

  • My daughter is ten mths old, and I am still breastfeeding her...I 9lan to do it till she's one or later.

  • "Tap yewr neighbor. And ask them!

Do yew! Do yew do yew do yew do yew do yew do yew KNOW B SCOTT"

    Lmfao

  • women can breast feed for up to 5 years

  • dunno, in the cave-men's era maybe until the kids started to lose their milk teeth and be able to chew raw meat, but nowadays its maybe not necessairy anymore....everyone's personal choice though of how long he wants to breastfeed...

  • I can understand breast feeding up to 4 in countries where the mothers don't work and are available for the children to breast feed and food is an issue because that's why breastfeeding goes on much longer in other countries (among other reasons). I personally think 1 year or 2 is fine, considering the mom's availability. Plus I would figure at some point wouldn't a woman want to have her body back for herself and not at the beck and call of her child.

  • Oh my god, momma titty hahahha hilarious b =)

  • Well studies prove that breastfeeding is VERY VERY good in development. It has been proven that children who breastfeed longer are uh.."smarter" than those who arent, of course there are exceptions to the rule, but theres a very good doc. video on it here on youtube. I think society tells us to stop breastfeeding early, ultimately its a family decision. Ans of course, you dont want to still be doing it when the child is too old.

  • Oops sorry for any spelling errors in my comment! But anyway for those of you who actually want more truthful information on the good of prolonged breast feeding, I would encourage you to watch the documentary here on youtube which monitors a group of kids over YEARS and how they intelectually develop over a group of kids who were taken off breast milk early. Very informative, I forget the name of the series though

  • With my two year old daughter i was unable to breastfeed her but me and her father decided that i was going to breastfeed her until she was two unless she decided to stop earlier on then that but like is said i was unable to do it but the age limit when breast milk stop benefiting the child is at about 2 1/2 so i have read so 4 is way to old and me personally i wouldn't breast feed in public but it is very neutral to do it in public but the women needs to be covered up

  • "I was shooken!"

    AAHAHHA I CANNOT DEAL

  • One year is your own official cut off. Medical and science fields won't give one. Everyone else has the right to choose when they want to wean. It's the beauty of the relationship. It's a family decision that needn't be judged by anyone else. Not our business. (even if they are nursing in public.)

  • If you are a stay at home mom, and you feel you need to breast feed your child beyond a good one year (which is very sufficient), than by all means help yourself. But if you are a working woman with a career, breast feeding beyond one could become very difficult and cause complications for yourself and the child in the adjustment process if you decide to return to work. Maternity leave is on average 6 months to a year depending on the type of job and career.

  • I agree. It's up the the family- a personal decision. Although I must add if a working mother is intent on breastfeeding and all goes well, it should not cause a significant disruption to the breastfeeding process.

  • That is ridiculous!

I say amen when my son was 5mths, hello he already had those terrorizing shark teeth, he stopped on his own and I said, 'THANK YUH JESUS!'

  • Public breast feeding is perfectly normal and natural.

  • not for a grown ass 4 year old lol

  • true!

  • It's supposed to be when you start having teeth...about 18 months NO LATER.

  • LMAO at "I don't know the rules" hahahahaha

  • lmmb!!! not momma titty?? hahahahahahahaha

  • Before I start, let me say that I love that "outro" it was hott...Now I say if you're going to breastfeed your child, the child should be weaned at least by 5-7 months. Grasping and holding skills are developing at that time, and you have to promote that by giving them the bottle. anything past a yr though is just weird.

  • Are you serious? Even the AAP recommends at least a year. Did you realize a bottle is a replacement for a breast? You don't promote their fine motor skills by giving them a bottle. The lack of knowledge presented in today's youth is astounding... shows how our education system is lacking. No wonder the rest of the world outscores us educationally.

  • It is ones personal decision as to when they wean their child from breast feeding. Of course a bottle is a replacement, I never said stop feeding the child. Giving your child something to grasp, learning how to manipulate the item to get out of it whatever he wants is, in my opinion, promotion of "fine motor skills". I'm sorry that you feel the world outscores YOU educationally.

  • No not ME educationally, but "us" in general. Sorry if you didn't understand that. There are plenty of toys and everyday objects that a child can learn to manipulate to get out of it what they want. Finger foods are great for that. Giving an infant a bottle instead of breastfeeding in order to learn how to manipulate objects is illogical.I agree that it is ones personal decision as to when they wean their child. You suggested 5-7 months, which is BELOW even the lowest given standard, the AAP.

  • I understood perfectly well your statement, and deduced that this is how you must feel towards yourself, seeing as how you cannot speak for the general public...nor completely believe statistics. Again I suggest to wean a child between 5-7mos, those who are in need of mothering advice can use the AAP. Whom of which, advises on a few things that I PERSONALLY disagree with. Also, You are misconstruing my comments, I never said to JUST give a child a bottle, I'm saying it is a place to start.

  • Well your "deduction" is wrong. You missed the point and must not know much about the state of the United States' education system. That's FACT. How can you possibly give "mothering advice" when you are blatantly advising them to do something PROFESSIONALS recommend? It's also clear you don't know much about breastfeeding or child and infant nutrition. A bottle is NEVER the way to go when giving children the opportunity to develop fine motor skills.

  • I am actually a nurse, but that's neither here nor there. Anything any health care professional advises to their patients, is just what you said...a RECOMMENDATION. Whatever the parents choose to do is their decision. And anything said in these comments are our PERSONAL beliefs, up to this point all comments between us have been opinions. I feel that the conversation has gone sour, however, and I don't want it to go further, leading to an online fight. Thanks for all the responses.

  • I agree, it's personal belief coupled with what we have learned through research. Nurses are wonderful and very much needed; although I have countered many who aren't versed (dr.'s as well) in breastfeeding, especially since it wasn't valued in our country. Only recently has the tide changed towards breastfeeding. Thanks as well for the comments!

  • lmao 3:00- 3:30

  • Well i think its probably a little 'unnatural' to keep feeding them past a certain point, because usually the natural thing is children start eatting solids, but i dont think its wrong, i mean ive heard of like 13 year olds who still breast feed, its kinda funny and weird to me but i dont think theres really anything wrong with it, unless its something sexual, which in this case it sounds like it isnt, but id probably stop feeding my kid around the age of 2.

  • once they can eat goddammit solid food!

  • 02:22 - 0235 LMFAO!!!!!! :)

  • My auntie breastfeed her daughter until the age of 7-years-old and I find that very nasty!

  • as soon as they have teeth..... that needs to come to an end.....

  • oh ya. my sister in law breastfed her kids to age 4 or 5 and her kids teeth are fucked up! oh ya the are not the healthiest kids eithyer. so whatever. breastfeeding can still rot the teeth.

  • Kids not having (or shall I say parents not having) proper oral hygenine is what causes kids teeth to rot. Breastfeeding doesn't rot the teeth. But common sense would tell a person that you need to brush your teeth. Besides that, at that age they are also eating table foods, many of which contain some sort of sugar.

  • 1st off its recommended up to 1 year. i am all for breastfeeding. but there is a fucking limit. kids are smart. my daughter is 4. i never even let her in the room while i breastfed my son. its inappropriate.

its ok to breastfeed in public if you cover yourself up, cuz its not ok for little kids t see that.

And kids teeth are falling out at an early age cuz thre damn parents do not brush them. my kids have perfect teeth. i didnt breastfeed them very long. i take care of them.

  • Why is it innappropriate for a child to see a baby fed the natural way but it's ok for a child to watch a baby be fed from a bottle? Because it's a breast? That's what it's for, why would you treat it like it's something to be ashamed of, to go hide in a locked room to do? This is an excellent example of how distorted our (as a society) views of breasts and our bodies period, has become.

  • well u misunderstood me. All i ment was breastfeeding doesnt PREVENT a childs teeth to rot.

  • Oh, ok. No, anytime someone consumes something, the teeth are affected on some level. But breastfeeding does not cause rotten teeth, just in case some believe that. Bottles, however do; and they even have coined the term "baby bottle rot" for the affliction. Thanks for clearing that up.

  • LOVE YOU B-SCOTT GREAT TOPIC. XOXO

  • So... how long have you been molesting your children by forcing them to breast feed up to 7 years old. Be serious this is not some 3rd world country and these are not the same pre-historic (hunting and gathering) times in which that evidence is valid. No self respecting doctor is going to tell u that you ahould nurse until your child is 7 or 8 and loses all their baby teeth. Where is the link that you are getting your information from? Its molestation, no 3-8 year old needs to be breast fed.

  • I think that you just need to be given better information. It has nothing to do with prehistoric hunting/gathering, nor does it have to be soley a 3rd world country thing. No self respecting doctor is going to give you a cut off or tell you when to wean unless NECESSARY. It is completely false that by nursing a child over a year or two is molestation. How in the heck do you think the world wide weaning average got to be 4.4 YEARS? Not by having everyone weaned at 1 or 2.

  • well first my cousin stopped when my baby cousin was like 8 months so i think that was good but a 4 year old?

  • i think the child should ween naturally but if you as the parent see that this isnt goin to happen you should stop them when you feel it to be appropriate. I breastfeed till my daughter was 7months. she weened herself.

p.s: i think i cheated 2day is monday and i did a tap your neighbor tuesday move : x lol

  • I like B Scott and I nursed by daughter until her 3rd b-day. She has never been sick and is well-adjusted.

  • Just to add: I have breastfed in public but you can never tell. I used a sling and wore nursing shirts. They baby was covered and could nurse while I walked around shopping or whatever. My daughter weaned herself. Most 4yr olds nursing(your neighbor) are probably doing it for comfort purposes. Nursing is different for everyone.

  • Come the hell on that is crazy, so you mean to tell me your kid comes in from kindergarden and instead of fixing little Jimmy or Jane a sandwich and a glass of milk you whip out a tity and say its feeding time. I dont care what your book says no child over 1.5 years should be suckling their moms tit. If you want them to get the nourishments put it in a bottle. Breast are for babies, teeth are an indictor that they should be on your breast, as long as you nurse you will continue to produce milk.

  • You are not alone in your vast misconception of breastfeeding beyond infancy. Breastfeeding is not the only thing a child has after they start solids. Why would anyone voluntarily take away the breast and replace it with a bottle? That's backwards, considering a bottle is a breast substitute (and a poor one considering the findings of BPA in the bottles). Also, do you know what the first set of teeth are called? Milk teeth. Physiologically we are designed to nurse until these FALL OUT.

  • some kids teeth dont begin falling out till 6 or 7 sometimes 8 so is their mother supposed to keep breast feeding them? i dont have a issue with breast feeding i think its a necessary, antural and beautiful thing, i intend to do it when i start my family. My thing is no 2+ child should be attaching their lips to their mothers breasts. If you want then to have those nutrients what is wrong with pumping and putting in it a bottle.

  • Exactly. Kids teeth start falling out typically between 4 and 7. They are called milk teeth because we are designed to breastfeed that long. Why is it that nursing has such a negative connotation? Breasts are for nursing first, sexuality second. Bottles are a SUBSTITUTE for the breast, so why would one go from the real thing to second best? Besides, nursing isn't just about nutrition.

  • Actually we are physiologically designed to breastfeed that long. Check out the research of Cathy Dettwyler. The breastfeeding=dependency is also a very common (although false) misconception.

  • Finally someone else on here who has some actual knowledge about breastfeeding! Thank you!

  • Thats like saying it is okay for someone to take a shower with their 8+ year old daughter or son ( you dont bathe with them you help them bathe it is a part of them learning how to do things on their own.) Granted a toddler is not going to be left alone in a bath tub but at that age they are learning their first baby steps of independence by walking, talking, playing with other children, exploring their surroundings and eating table etc.

  • Some families do bathe with their child. It's not sexual, it's not molesting, and it's not anyone else's business. Part of the issue is we expect children to be independent from VERY early on. We as a culture push our children away pretty much as soon as we push them out. It's ingrained in our culture, and then we wonder why we have so many elderly in nursing homes. Do you know nursing homes are almost unheard of in many cultures? Why? Because the children take care of them when they are old.

  • why would you want to strip them of that, by allowing them to hold on to forced attachment because you cant let go? not you personally but in general to someone still nursing pass 1.5.

  • As someone who has nursed past 1.5 years, I can GURANTEE you that it is not for some "forced attachment" or because I "couldn't let go." I chose to allow my child to self wean with very little push. It is NOT sexual, my child was NOT clingy or unnaturally dependent, and it wasn't something that felt odd or off. The nursing relationship changes over time. Many new mothers are faced with having to go against their natural mothering instincts to fit into societal norms. I chose not to fight and
