i like both of these guys!!! myuch people dont give iron man to much credit, sure he doesnt know as much martial arts as a batman but he is trained by some pro boxer and a marine soldier and not to mention captain america which rivals batman so he can hold his own for a while and with that suit which seems to have everything he needs im sure he can pull somethin out, and his smart, he is almost in par with reed richards so in my opinion he has good change.

Batman punches Iron Man's metal suit and breaks his fist, and then Iron man flies high into the sky and shoots a missile blowing Batman and everything up within a 20 foot radius. END! I just don't see Batman being able to do much damage to the suit. In the video Iron man lifts a car. So hand to hand Iron man would tear Batman to shreds with his super strength/defense. Batman has a suit of armor similar to Iron Man's, and if he isn't wearing armor in a fight between the two he wouldn't just use martial arts, he would throw an EMP batarang. Batman has fought people in armor before, like Azrael, and beat them.
At least Iron Man makes his own gadgets. Batman buys them. Batman's only super power is that he has a lot of money. Very impressive... Iron Man would beat him too. Superior tech.

Batman is an opportunist. He capitalizes on flaws and iron man has many his drinking problem, and ego being at the forefront of it all. @SolidSnakeRules He would beat iron man on strategy alone. Iron Mans suit isn't beyond batmans strategy. Batman can outhink people his super power is less obvious. Only a person who actively follows both marvel and DC would see this. Batmans super power is his ability to checkmate his opponents. Iron man being an alcoholic with many other weaknesses would ensure his defeat. In fact he's perfect for someone like batman. Less challenging than the joker.
Again, assassinating Tony Stark is not the same as beating Iron Man in a fight. If Batman and Iron Man were in some war against each other and they were plotting to kill one another, then yes, Batman could win. However, if it were simply a fight, Iron Man would win. It's very easy to point out iron man has bigger guns and an indestructible suit, but most people wouldn't realize what batmans true value is and why he's so popular unless they've read the comics and followed the justice league cartoons. You can tell when people just started getting into comics with the emergence of its movies lately. They think iron man would win hands down because he's got a BIG suit with BIG guns. They have no idea that the irony of iron man is that he has so much and so little at the same time. Money but no love, an indestructible suit but a fragile body, high intellect but low discipline, all the gadgets in the world but lacks the skill to use them at their peak. Batman is his (better) opposite.

Iron Man is technologically smart, I'll give him that but when it comes to strategy and cleverness Batmans got him beat by miles and because they are close in both areas of technlogical smarts, it would come down to strategy so I have to give it to batman. Ironman is nothing without his suit, Batman is something with or without his gadgets.
@BA0424 Batman is only as powerful as the writers want to make him. He beats people that he should have 0 chance of beating because that's how they write him. Looking at it from a technical point of view, taking into account all their stats, weapons, and abilities, there is no way Batman would ever be able to beat Iron Man. Nothing Batman has would even put a dent in Starks armor. Tony has tons of fail-safes in case something goes wrong. There is no chance of Batman ever beating Iron Man

@oOoMastermind only as of late have they been writing iron man well (civil war) but I think iron man is weak because of tony stark, and I think batman is strong because of bruce wayne. If it were nightwing as batman, vs tony stark as iron man yes. Iron man would win. But not with bruce wayne. Bruce would out-think iron man in terms of strategy. Iron man has design intellect. You can be the best martial artist/detective in the world, but that wont help you in situations where you face a much more powerful opponent. Lets take a martial arts master vs a tank. For instance, when the New Avengers were fighting Graviton and loosing. Iron Man came flying in at mach three directly into Graviton, and then proceeded to roast him alive with his Unibeam until Cap tried to stop Tony, which almost got Cap killed as well. Batman just has not chance against that.

Batman loses by either checkmate (opponent must be strategically smarter), or direct KO. (opponent must be direct and ruthless) otherwise...
@oOoMastermind ironman isn't a checkmate kind of guy. And each time he has been it's been with the help of other people not just him. He's more a guns blazing kind of hero. When iron man did the DIRECT KO approach he was able to finish captain america. But 9 times out of 10 Iron Man is the iron man showed in that marvel ultimate alliance video. Always dropping the ball. I think thor could beat batman. But because Thor is direct, and every hit of his is a knockout blow.
@BA0424 Statistically speaking (like I mentioned before) anyone SHOULD be able to beat Batman. That's what I love about him though, he always finds a way to win. If you want to talk raw power then I can say yes. Thor. Thor has the direct ruthless approach to fighting that would kill batman. But not iron man. @oOoMastermind When you try to seperate the "writers" or "writings" you're seperating the character from their superhero aliases. Iron Mans loss would have nothing to do with his suit, and everything to do with his character. Thats my point. Batmans win would have nothing to do with his gadgets and more to do with his character. I'm going completely based on the characters as we know them. If not for their distinctive characters and way they are written then what would they be? Nothing.
If I'm in a batsuit and you're in iron mans suit, you would destroy me because I'm not Bruce Wayne. I haven't adopted his skill, training, tactical knowledge, cunning, finesse. or experience. But when you take someone like Tony Stark, and you match him up against a guy like Bruce Wayne. You could put Tony Stark behind a fighter jet, or a tank. He's going to mess up and leave an opening for Bruce to take advantage of. The only thing strong about tony is his inventive talent and suit. Thats it.
@oOoMastermind What you'll find really weird is that I believe wolverine would be a more dangerous opponent for batman to wolverine, because there is literally nothing batman could do to wolverine that wolverine can't take. I've seen wolverine get knocked down by tranquilizers and more, but I believe even if batman prepared he would have a really hard time with wolverine. Someone who could smell him, be serious and go in for the kill immediately. But iron man? Iron man is a joke. Too laid back.
@BA0424 Wolverine would be more than a tough opponent for anyone. But Iron Man has taken down far more powerful people in the past. Even though Batman has had his fair share for toppling godly-level heroes and villains himself, at the same time he has been defeated by far weaker people than Iron Man. Just look at what Bane did to him, and Iron man could kill Bane without lifting a finger which is also something that makes Iron Man even more dangerous, he isn't afraid to kill.

I'll be fair and I'll say that in round 2 a serious iron man would kill batman. But iron man is never serious. He's always dropping the ball always. It's like that suit gets to his head, and he always has to be reminded he's a human with a fragile heart condition. Lol. So in conclusion I believe a more serious than usual iron man can do it. @BA0424 I just cant see how having a better technique helping much when you are against an opponent that much stronger. Batman is always written to overcome any opponent by outsmarting them, but Iron Man is able to do so because of his raw power. He isn't called the "Invincible Iron Man" for nothing. And its not like he hasn't used his smarts to win before. Iron Man versus the Sentry is a great example. And I would say Iron Man definitely fits the ruthless requirement.

Ok i do like iron man and he is a great superhero but i know that the bat is smarter , who knows what he can do he has built a batmoble , a plane , caves, and has his on armor the batbot and ironman is just a guy with armor and shoots laser beams . so i think batman would win and a simple way to beat ironman is to throw a sonic batarang at ironmans arc reactor and game over
@MrMastermind222 Um... you do know that Tony Stark is the world's most forefront weapons expert? Bruce Wayne has immense wealth, but his entire team wouldn't be able to top what Stark alone can achieve. Batman IS smart, but really not that intelligent. But Stark is a GENIUS. Batman's a smarter combatant, but his tools just don't stand up to Stark. Stark's AI could pick out every weak spot in Batman's suit and take him down in seconds.
Ironman's armour is incredibly tough and could probably withstand at least one sonic batarang attack and probably a few. His suit take can machine gun fire and even tank shells. Do you really believe that an explosive batarang could penetrate that suit? I doubt it. I would personally love to believe that Batman would have a chance. I like Batman more... but the fact is, if this shit was real, he just wouldn't. BatJoker007 has it right...
I don't compare the two. Why should I? they're both excellent movies, and Christian Bale and Robert Downy Junior both play their parts exceptionally. I don't like one over the other.

Ironman's weapons can be used at any range and close-in, his suit has augmented prosthetics.

Batman punches Iron Man's metal suit and breaks his fist, and then Iron man flies high into the sky and shoots a missile blowing Batman and everything up within a 20 foot radius. END! I just don't see Batman being able to do much damage to the suit. In the video Iron man lifts a car. So hand to hand Iron man would tear Batman to shreds with his super strength/defense. Batman is too "human" for this fight. Yea I know Stark is human. But he is an armored human. ;)

You can tell when people just started getting into comics with the emergence of its movies lately. They think iron man would win hands down because he's got a BIG suit with BIG guns. They have no idea that the irony of iron man is that he has so much and so little at the same time. Money but no love, an indestructible suit but a fragile body, high intellect but low discipline, all the gadgets in the world but lacks the skill to use them at their peak. For instance, when the New Avengers were fighting Graviton and loosing. Iron Man came flying in at mach three directly into Graviton, and then proceeded to roast him alive with his Unibeam until Cap tried to stop Tony, which almost got Cap killed as well. Batman just has not chance against that.

Remember thor fried Graviton for the last blow from moljnir. Graviton like iron man doesn't go in for the knockout asap b/c they can relax a bit, they are superpowered.. Batman does, batman refuses to play around because he's fully aware of his shortcomings and knows that he has to finish it quickly. He'll even cheat if he has to.

@oOoMastermind the guys that beat batman are either smarter, or more ruthless. They are not billionaire playboys who crack sarcastic jokes during their faceoffs. Granted riddler, and joker do but riddler and joker are also strategic geniuses. When batman is about to beat them, he finds out that if he does, a hostage tied up 50 miles away will die. Batman loses by either checkmate (opponent must be strategically smarter), or direct KO. (opponent must be direct and ruthless) otherwise...

@oOoMastermind ironman isn't a checkmate kind of guy. And each time he has been it's been with the help of other people not just him. He's more a guns blazing kind of hero. When iron man did the DIRECT KO approach he was able to finish captain america. But 9 times out of 10 Iron Man is the iron man showed in that marvel ultimate alliance video. Always dropping the ball. I think thor could beat batman. But because Thor is direct, and every hit of his is a knockout blow.

@BA0424 Statistically speaking (like I mentioned before) anyone SHOULD be able to beat Batman. That's what I love about him though, he always finds a way to win. He would put up a good fight against Iron Man, but in the end, I say no contest. How would it go down in the comics? Batman would probably win through some BS convenient plot device like he always does. Thats just how he is. We could go on forever, but I think its clear neither of us are going to budge. Lets call it a draw :D

@oOoMastermind He's definitely not invincible. In his own movie a fat inexperienced guy with whips was able to strip iron man of his suit. What would batman do? If you want to talk raw power then I can say yes. Thor. Thor has the direct ruthless approach to fighting that would kill batman. But not iron man. When I say ruthless I'm talking about finishing the fight immediately. He plays around too much. Iron Man VS Sentry is a more even fight in my opinion. Sentry is a superpowered moron.

@oOoMastermind When you try to seperate the "writers" or "writings" you're seperating the character from their superhero aliases. Iron Mans loss would have nothing to do with his suit, and everything to do with his character. Thats my point. Batmans win would have nothing to do with his gadgets and more to do with his character. I'm going completely based on the characters as we know them. If not for their distinctive characters and way they are written then what would they be? Nothing.

If I'm in a batsuit and you're in iron mans suit, you would destroy me because I'm not Bruce Wayne. I haven't adopted his skill, training, tactical knowledge, cunning, finesse. or experience. But when you take someone like Tony Stark, and you match him up against a guy like Bruce Wayne. You could put Tony Stark behind a fighter jet, or a tank. He's going to mess up and leave an opening for Bruce to take advantage of. The only thing strong about tony is his inventive talent and suit. Thats it.

@oOoMastermind What you'll find really weird is that I believe wolverine would be a more dangerous opponent for batman to wolverine, because there is literally nothing batman could do to wolverine that wolverine can't take. I've seen wolverine get knocked down by tranquilizers and more, but I believe even if batman prepared he would have a really hard time with wolverine. Someone who could smell him, be serious and go in for the kill immediately. But iron man? Iron man is a joke. Too laid back.

@BA0424 Wolverine would be more than a tough opponent for anyone. But Iron Man has taken down far more powerful people in the past. Even though Batman has had his fair share for toppling godly-level heroes and villains himself, at the same time he has been defeated by far weaker people than Iron Man. Just look at what Bane did to him, and Iron man could kill Bane without lifting a finger which is also something that makes Iron Man even more dangerous, he isn't afraid to kill.

@oOoMastermind Yes but Bane had familiarized himself with batman by that point, and knew not to waste any time, or to understimate batman. I'll be fair and I'll say that in round 2 a serious iron man would kill batman. But iron man is never serious. He's always dropping the ball always. It's like that suit gets to his head, and he always has to be reminded he's a human with a fragile heart condition. Lol. So in conclusion I believe a more serious than usual iron man can do it. But not regular.

@BA0424 I just cant see how having a better technique helping much when you are against an opponent that much stronger. Batman is always written to overcome any opponent by outsmarting them, but Iron Man is able to do so because of his raw power. He isn't called the "Invincible Iron Man" for nothing. And its not like he hasn't used his smarts to win before. Iron Man versus the Sentry is a great example. And I would say Iron Man definitely fits the ruthless requirement.

@JJmonster100 totally disagree. If you read comics at all you would know that Iron man has too many weaknesses that batman would be readily able to exploit. Iron man would go to bed drunk with some hot chick and batman would use that opportunity show up at night, disable iron mans suit and kill him. Batman fights using intellect. If they both had time to prepare batman would win. He does a lot more with a lot less. Everytime I see iron man he's getting his ass kicked

Bruce Wayne has immense wealth, but his entire team wouldn't be able to top what Stark alone can achieve. Batman IS smart, but really not that intelligent. But Stark is a GENIUS. Batman's a smarter combatant, but his tools just don't stand up to Stark. Stark's AI could pick out every weak spot in Batman's suit and take him down in seconds.

Ironman's armour is incredibly tough and could probably withstand at least one sonic batarang attack and probably a few. His suit take can machine gun fire and even tank shells. Do you really believe that an explosive batarang could penetrate that suit? I doubt it. I would personally love to believe that Batman would have a chance. I like Batman more... but the fact is, if this shit was real, he just wouldn't. BatJoker007 has it right...

And Bruce Wayne can just buy out Stark Industries since he is way richer. Bruce is the world's Greatest Detective for a reason, so he's just the man to hack into Ironman's Suit. And not to mention that Batman beat Superman, nuff' said.

All you people saying that Batman has a chance, you're WAY off. Ironman's suit is miles above anything Batman can throw at it. Tony Stark is basically the WORLD'S best weapon engineer and a creates technological marvels.
Batman glides with a fabric. Ironman would catch him in an instant and is a hundred times more maneouvreable.
Ironman's weapons can be used at any range and close-in, his suit has augmented prosthetics.
His armour is strong enough to take anything Batman has.
