@xMrBubblezz well a piran would be lighter and more effecient but a bt4 would more beginner and user friendly as well as more reliable. probably about the same in accuracy.
@snakeoo7ca How it helps with consistancy? since its lower resistance, it allows me to open up the Front velocity adjuster all the way open, since the FVA is just a screw that obstructs the blast it helps give the paintball a more level blast of air by removing the random variable of how the air hits the screw. How does it help with the gun decocking itself? the gun decocks itself when the blowback isn't strong enough to fully cycle it, by lowering the resistance, its less likely to decock.
ok, so i have a brand new bt combat and i wanna make it the absolute best it can be without an e grip cus im not allowed to use them at my site so that also means theres no need for a good hopper.. so far ive taped the power tube and polished the internals. im gonna be using co2 and i dont care about my stock so should i use the same setup as this? im also getting an apex2 barrel, a red dot and possibly a metal power tube... anything else i need?
@mh22sas well the things that would make the biggest impact to your accuracy would be getting a new barrel, if if you buy the apex, just buy a high quality ape ready barrel and put the apex tip on it and switching from co2 to air, that would also make a noticeable impact to consistancy of your shots, if you wanna stay co2, you could buy an expansion chamber to negative alot of the downsides of co2. the metal power tube wouldn't make the gun any more accurate , i
@Payneramic i would switch to air but i dont have a place to refill.. my site uses co2. and i would get a good barrel for the apex but as im in the uk its very hard to find one. what exactly would the expansion chamber do?
@mh22sas well i'm not sure what you mean by range and fps, they are pretty much the exact same thing (excluding things like flatline barrels and apex) and both of those are capped by whatever your field's fps cap is. but yes the blue spring will lower your velocity, thats the only real purpose it serves, the RVA can lower or raise your fps depending what you decide to do with it and yes the lowest setting will reduce your fps..
@AirgunAddict256 plus the ACT bolt is a neat idea but really is only good in a rec ball rental situation because 99 percent of gun owners upgrade past a gravity feed and the ACT serves basically zero purpose unless you use a gravity feed.
@AirgunAddict256 hey sorry for the belated response. I would obviously recommend a BT4 but of course im biased but nevertheless here would be reasons. Higher grade bolt and clamshell. removable grip thats also light because its made out of plastic, more customizable A5 barrel thread makes it easier to find good barrels for it, way better trigger design, rubber detents and overall easier assembly and dissambly. other than that the guns are so similar, i wouldnt expect huge perfomance diffs
@matchucky sorry don't know the cost because i don't use Co2, if you HAVE to use Co2 and have no way of getting compressed air then yes a regulator would definently help alot but if you can get Compressed Air, get it, its much better and you don't need a regulator.
read this whole thread and all i say is stop fighting bout co2/HPA. HPA is more consistant and cleaner than Co2 but not everyone can get Co2. you can get regs 4 Co2 now and if you use a reg on a remote coil to your ASA gas flow stay constant and no liquid will ever get in your gun. Its the best solusion if you are stuck with Co2. Like me
hey i got that combat. just had a little paint rubbed off near the feed neck slide. i love my bt-4 and have polished my internals. also got the blue spring and i have noticed that it has less kickback. just wondering if you could do a video with your apex as would like to see a bt-4 with apex video
i have been offered a bt-4 with the following here we have a bt-4 combat, great condition with the little bit of signs of wear as you would get with a used marker.
upgrades are as following:
red dot sight worth £30
unused apex barrel worth £70+
electronic grip frame with 4 firing modes used twice bought for £125
firing modes:10-13 bps ramping & 10-13 bps full auto
i will also throw in an electronic hopper vl evolution 2. is it worth £120 or $180
@diao2007 sounds like a good deal to me, but then i can't speak for the condition of the products. I've seen some used combats that are just destroyed but if its only a little bit of wear then amazing deal.
can someone help im buying a new marker for woodsball and scenario and im trying to decide between a tippmann project salvo or a bt 4 combat with an apex.
i have a bt-4 and my friend has a salvo and the bt-4 is a lot better. he has a lot of problems with the salvo jamming and the bt-4 has a lot more upgrade options
@mrgorse2409 ummm could be a number of things before you take to a pro shop to get it fixed i would recommend taking it apart cleaning and reoiling everything, maybe give it a polish. This is a BT-4 we're talking about right?
its not as expensive as you might think u can buy a 48/300opsi tank for $45 wich is liek 20 bucks more than a Co2 tank and usually refilling an HPA tnak is free
BT4 is better than the A5. Tippman is no longer owned by the Tippman. BT is the new company name for the Tippmans. Ben Tippman is the master mind behind the BT guns. The BT4 is the next generation marker replacing the A5, and the 98 special.
Bt stands for Battle Tested and both Tippmann and Bt are no longer owned by the tippman family. Ben tippmann was the nephew of the original owner of Tippmann. The Bt-4 actually uses older tech than the A% and aside from a few little technical improvements on the Bt-4, the custom 98 and Bt-4 are virtually the same gun.
i never owned a paintball gun and i might get this, and is there a way of not getting co2 capsules, and shooting another way, coz if u dont need to buy the capsules id wana do that, please reply, and if there is a way not to use cO2 capsules plz explain fully
i'm not sure what you mean by co2 capsules but CO2 tanks are generall the cheapest and have the most shot to tank size ratio of any propellant for a paintball gun, short of buying a carbon fibre air tank which are usually around 200 dollars. The only downside to CO2 is that it is not as accurate as compressed air and can increase wear to your gun''s internals over long term
well almost anything is more reliable as Spyder tend be quite unreliable guns and need care and understanding from their owners but as for actually better in terms of accuracy and performance um probably not about the same
i use co2 with mine and after about 700 shots with a 16 i start to loose mad velocity and when a i shoot a lot of co2 comes out of the barrel and i can feel some coming out of where the hose goes into the gun
Good vid, my question for any who uses this marker is this. is the stock barrel ok for accracy? and has anyone used a J&J ceramic barrel and is that better if not careing for a milsim look over accracy?
this gun stock isn't very accurate at all but a J&J barrel will do nicely, i've seen alot of them on BTs before and it will also quiet the gun down a bit
sorta both, it doesnt have a good feed system but the look of it and the avialiblty of attachments that make it look like a more realistic gun copy the a5. not to mention the apex copying the flatline (sort of)
the rip clip feeds 23 balls a second out of the box with no pop corning and ball breaks or gas effeciency loss. besides i've tried both the flatline and the apex and the apex is way better many tippmann owners buy apexs to replace their flatlines now
what is it called when your gas is conneted to ur gun thru a cable and not a pipe,so hat yu can put ur gas in your pod holder, coz i'm thinking of puttin it on my bt4 delta elite. search my gun,it looks abit like an mp5
i know what BT Delta elite is lol my gun basically is one except its lighter. it doesn't look a bit like an mp5. it IS an mp5. the cables your talking about are called remote lines not sure what you meant by a pipe though because pipes aren't used for air they are used for water
yeah but the real deal is owned by an investment company that only care making money plus lots of things that BT-4s have in advantage over tippmanns but don't get me started
huh? the owner of tippmann had nothing to do with BT. the orignal owner ben tippmann is a distant relative. he sold BT to kee action sports a while ago too now
the flatline uses a much different design than the apex . plus keep in mind that Ben tippmann was a designer at Tippmann. he was one of the leader designs of the 98, the cyclone and the flatline. they didn't copy anything,
the maker of the original BTs. is a member of the tippmann family. His name is Ben tippmann he was one of the original designers of the A5 and 98 and was allowed to take some of the patents of the tippman'sn guns with him.
if you use an e-grip a rip clip or any electronic hopper. if you are experience chopping then a rip clip will fix that. its also very offset so its perfect if you have an red dots or anything. accuracy and range? umm i suppose a half-decent quality barrel with an apex tip would approve range and accuracy over the stock by alot
yeah obviously but then you don't get a mechanical trigger and the feedneck which are very useful things to own plus almost everything on my gun has been replace including the clamshells so i technically i don't really call my BT-4 a combat anymore cause the only bits of my combat left are the powertube and the bolt
sorry for the late response but yeah its great for noobs. cheap reliable. and its semi-auto when you buy it stock but you can add an e-grip for auto later
The BT loader is called the rip clip and its much better than the cyclone in alot of ways. much softer on paint, up to 22 bps stock, doesn't use up any gas. takes about 5 seconds to take off.
you have to take apart your gun to take it off. i have a rear velocity adjuster so it makes it alot easier to remove the spring and replace it with another one.
depends on what kind of look you want to go for. AK-47 or M-16/M-4 or w/e . As for performance difference there is little other than the fact that you can choose between a folding stock ( for going around corners and storage) a combat stock which always stable but is thought to be one of the most comfortable or an M-4 collapsible stock so you can adjuster the length. note that with a stock you can't use a red dot without a sight riser or your mask will get in the way
well, what you have to first realize that the name Apex " barrel " is a misnomer because the barrel is just a stock barrel with a thicker body and a tip tapered for the apex. so buying the tip and buying a new better barrel are pretty much seperate things.
i'll do cons first. well because of the nature of paintballs, people often blame the apex for bad accuracy and good range when they should realize that any paintball shot at a far distance will have slightly worse accuracy just because your cone of fire will be larger, so you have to get used to the apex and half a high quality barrel for it if you want the best of both worlds and trust when you get the apex just right its a incredible feeling to have such a large advantage over your enemies
but compared to the flatline the apex has a much better accurracy to range ratio, is much softer on paint, easier to clean and maintain, ability to use high quality and quieter barrels ( aka carbonfibre ) and of course has the ability to change the spin direction which if you learn to use it right is incredible. Tourny paint won't probably ( depends) won't work will on any long distance barrels because it is made for low pressure guns and barrels that aren't hard on paint.
i would recommend this over the tippmann 98 for a few reasons, better ball detent, higher quality rear hammer, a moveable foregrip with a lower picatinny rail as well as a top , easier to remove trigger mechanics and more upgrades. while it doesn't have anti-chop get a BT rip clip or a half decent electro hopper and you won't be chopping anyway
its a great gun that lets you turn it into whatever you want....you can make it look like all the other bt guns and it i don't like the whole milsim look so i think its a waste of money
In my opinion the Stocks (Thing that Goes up against your shoulder) is not worth the $50. You can just get an HPA tank, more consistant, and then use hockey tape on the back, so it doesn't slide off your shoulder and you just saved yourself some money (because you should upgrade to HPA anyways)
nice vid man where can i get a double trigger for my bt 4 combat? im getting it tommorrow but i have been paintballing b4 and dont like single fire guns lol please reply, awesome vid dude, favourited and rated :)
If you are looking for a double trigger, you should check your local field, they ussually have a pro shop inside which sell different things for different guns, but they might not carry them, my local proshop did, so I got lucky.
another big factor is the generally poor design of the BT-4 asa while this is minor and hardcore players will buy a new asa whether or not they have a tippmann or bt. Tippmanns have us beat on the stock asa...while the design is actually better for co2 as the offset and larger hole allows more compressed co2 into the line and less of the liquid into the line a tighly screwed in compressed air tank will be from tests i have seen done around 95% obstructed which is ridiculous
no i have found absolutely nothing positive from using a harder spring. The situations currently that i would see fit to use a spiring are the following ; Some people plug up they're front velocity screws and use their regulaters to instead of control abstruction of blast control the pressure at which the air is coming out of the air line while this is just as effiecient as much current set-up it is difficult to combine the two still have a speed that is playable because it would just be too low
My current set-up instead rids of starvation because the blow back is extremely light to a short soft spring used coupled with a velocity adjuster on the lowest setting, the lowest setting meaning the spring tension is being as relieved as it can be. so that it takes less air to blowback the markers eliminating these kind of issues. In your case with a mechanical trigger and co2 you should have little to worry about starvation wise as starvation problems is mostly a compressed air issue
reason for not having to worry about starvation is because co2 fluctuates between 825 and 875 psi approx which is more than the neccessary 800 to blowback the marker. compressed air STOCK is for hpa tanks is usually preset at 750-800 so less pressure is in the gun. while most hardcore players will buy a reg and just increase the pressure to 850 in the situation of starvation i took my above stated approach which i found way less of a hassle and just as consistant.
i've never ever done any testing with only one bu i had starvation issues before i had ALL of the following ; polished internals, blue spring and RVA. where i would be forced to recock every 20-30 rounds in full auto or ramping. It was fixed after i used this set-up. it fixes it because the polished internals reduced friction, the blue spring and RVA on the lowest setting reduce spring tension thus making it require less air to blowback the marker. hope this helps.
thanks that helps a lot. but do you NEED to have the rear velocity adjuster? or can you just put the springs in normally. also ive never polished my internals and im not sure what to polish with. SOS or something right? idk
you don't NEED it but it would help just as much if not more than just using the blue spring by itself but polished the internals and getting a blue spring would definently make a noticeable difference in your starvation but then i haven't tried it without all of them so i can't guarantee it will work. the easiest fix would be to mod the asa but i don't own a dremel or a drill so i'll have to get someone to do that for me. Sos pads will work
oh and related to your earlier statement about the expansion chamber. the expansion chamber will because IT will fill up with liquid instead of your powertube. remember if your using the e-grip and co2 with the stock plastic powertube and not polished internals you are MOST At risk to cracking your powertube
The blue spring is the best because it the softest and thus the lightest pull so by reducing spring pressure and opening up the front velocity adjuster you have little to none of obstruction of blast( increasing consistancy) and less likely to have a starvation problem at high rof. Thus making the red spring the worst for consistancy and high rats of fire.
i smiled when he said "re-cock" :)

sorta both, it doesnt have a good feed system but the look of it and the avialiblty of attachments that make it look like a more realistic gun copy the a5. not to mention the apex copying the flatline (sort of)
BravoEchoDeltaTIME 2 years ago
the rip clip feeds 23 balls a second out of the box with no pop corning and ball breaks or gas effeciency loss. besides i've tried both the flatline and the apex and the apex is way better many tippmann owners buy apexs to replace their flatlines now
Nephrak 2 years ago
The Apex was made by the creator of the Flatline.

Did that come with a barrel out of the box? Like stock
hanratty84 2 years ago
yeah of course it came with a barrel
Nephrak 2 years ago
i use a stock and never re cock?
lol it rhymed
xEmzx19 3 years ago
There are stocks out there that have built in RVAs. They're more expensive, but they are extremely useful.

what is it called when your gas is conneted to ur gun thru a cable and not a pipe,so hat yu can put ur gas in your pod holder, coz i'm thinking of puttin it on my bt4 delta elite. search my gun,it looks abit like an mp5
truckertez55 3 years ago
i know what BT Delta elite is lol my gun basically is one except its lighter. it doesn't look a bit like an mp5. it IS an mp5. the cables your talking about are called remote lines not sure what you meant by a pipe though because pipes aren't used for air they are used for water
Nephrak 3 years ago
even tho those guns suck go with the real deal
imthbst 3 years ago
yeah but the real deal is owned by an investment company that only care making money plus lots of things that BT-4s have in advantage over tippmanns but don't get me started
Nephrak 3 years ago
besides they are all blowbacks in the end anyway they are never going to be that good
Nephrak 3 years ago
their basically the same thing, because the owner of Tippmann sold his company and started a new one
quack447 3 years ago
huh? the owner of tippmann had nothing to do with BT. the orignal owner ben tippmann is a distant relative. he sold BT to kee action sports a while ago too now
Nephrak 3 years ago
but they copied off the backspin idea of the flatline, and the 98 Custom
quack447 3 years ago
the flatline uses a much different design than the apex . plus keep in mind that Ben tippmann was a designer at Tippmann. he was one of the leader designs of the 98, the cyclone and the flatline. they didn't copy anything,
Nephrak 3 years ago
the flatline puts a baskspin on the paintball to make it go farther, and so does the Apex
quack447 3 years ago
ino im just saying
imthbst 3 years ago
lol, alright >.>....
Nephrak 3 years ago
they totally copied tippman on this design
imthbst 3 years ago
the maker of the original BTs. is a member of the tippmann family. His name is Ben tippmann he was one of the original designers of the A5 and 98 and was allowed to take some of the patents of the tippman'sn guns with him.
Nephrak 3 years ago
he, is there any prob with CO2 ?
sorry im a noob, i don't have any idea
salaco2210 3 years ago
if you use an e-grip a rip clip or any electronic hopper. if you are experience chopping then a rip clip will fix that. its also very offset so its perfect if you have an red dots or anything. accuracy and range? umm i suppose a half-decent quality barrel with an apex tip would approve range and accuracy over the stock by alot
Nephrak 3 years ago
yeah obviously but then you don't get a mechanical trigger and the feedneck which are very useful things to own plus almost everything on my gun has been replace including the clamshells so i technically i don't really call my BT-4 a combat anymore cause the only bits of my combat left are the powertube and the bolt
Nephrak 3 years ago
is this gun good for noobs please replie i nead to know wats the range and is it semi or auto
matthewlang123 3 years ago
sorry for the late response but yeah its great for noobs. cheap reliable. and its semi-auto when you buy it stock but you can add an e-grip for auto later
Nephrak 3 years ago

rip clip> cyclone feed
ihatepbnation31 3 years ago
The BT loader is called the rip clip and its much better than the cyclone in alot of ways. much softer on paint, up to 22 bps stock, doesn't use up any gas. takes about 5 seconds to take off.
Nephrak 3 years ago
Bt can't have a cyclone.
Nephrak 3 years ago
i got the gun very good gun i it just fine

thats the rental gun at most the fields ive played at

yeah great for rental fields. cheap, low and easy maintenance

When you took out your spring...well my Bt-4 has a flat pastic peice covering it. Howdo I take it off?
Potts132 3 years ago
you have to take apart your gun to take it off. i have a rear velocity adjuster so it makes it alot easier to remove the spring and replace it with another one.
Nephrak 3 years ago
Oh ok thx
Potts132 3 years ago
depends on what kind of look you want to go for. AK-47 or M-16/M-4 or w/e . As for performance difference there is little other than the fact that you can choose between a folding stock ( for going around corners and storage) a combat stock which always stable but is thought to be one of the most comfortable or an M-4 collapsible stock so you can adjuster the length. note that with a stock you can't use a red dot without a sight riser or your mask will get in the way
Nephrak 3 years ago
dont forget the H&K mp5 stock too
mttyplayer5 3 years ago
can u put a flatline for an a5 on a bt4 combat
guitarrocker234 3 years ago
you sure can, but i think that it is better to use an apex barrel because the Flatline can be a pain some times
Nephrak 3 years ago
hey, i was thinking about an appex barrel for my combat. What are some pros and cons about it?
Americanbeast14 3 years ago
well, what you have to first realize that the name Apex " barrel " is a misnomer because the barrel is just a stock barrel with a thicker body and a tip tapered for the apex. so buying the tip and buying a new better barrel are pretty much seperate things.
Nephrak 3 years ago
i'll do cons first. well because of the nature of paintballs, people often blame the apex for bad accuracy and good range when they should realize that any paintball shot at a far distance will have slightly worse accuracy just because your cone of fire will be larger, so you have to get used to the apex and half a high quality barrel for it if you want the best of both worlds and trust when you get the apex just right its a incredible feeling to have such a large advantage over your enemies
Nephrak 3 years ago
but compared to the flatline the apex has a much better accurracy to range ratio, is much softer on paint, easier to clean and maintain, ability to use high quality and quieter barrels ( aka carbonfibre ) and of course has the ability to change the spin direction which if you learn to use it right is incredible. Tourny paint won't probably ( depends) won't work will on any long distance barrels because it is made for low pressure guns and barrels that aren't hard on paint.

whats a good beginner gun im new to paintball

BT-4 combat ALL THE WAY. and when you get better you can upgrade so it ends like mine in my walking the e-trigger video
Nephrak 3 years ago
should i get this or 98 custom platinum
Endifier 3 years ago
i would recommend this over the tippmann 98 for a few reasons, better ball detent, higher quality rear hammer, a moveable foregrip with a lower picatinny rail as well as a top , easier to remove trigger mechanics and more upgrades. while it doesn't have anti-chop get a BT rip clip or a half decent electro hopper and you won't be chopping anyway
Nephrak 3 years ago
its a great gun that lets you turn it into whatever you want....you can make it look like all the other bt guns and it i don't like the whole milsim look so i think its a waste of money
Nephrak 3 years ago
In my opinion the Stocks (Thing that Goes up against your shoulder) is not worth the $50. You can just get an HPA tank, more consistant, and then use hockey tape on the back, so it doesn't slide off your shoulder and you just saved yourself some money (because you should upgrade to HPA anyways)
PostedAlready 3 years ago
i don't use a stock..i agree
Nephrak 3 years ago
i am planing to get that gun

nice vid man where can i get a double trigger for my bt 4 combat? im getting it tommorrow but i have been paintballing b4 and dont like single fire guns lol please reply, awesome vid dude, favourited and rated :)
LastVenge 3 years ago
e grip or double trigger
Nephrak 3 years ago
If you are looking for a double trigger, you should check your local field, they ussually have a pro shop inside which sell different things for different guns, but they might not carry them, my local proshop did, so I got lucky.
PostedAlready 3 years ago
another big factor is the generally poor design of the BT-4 asa while this is minor and hardcore players will buy a new asa whether or not they have a tippmann or bt. Tippmanns have us beat on the stock asa...while the design is actually better for co2 as the offset and larger hole allows more compressed co2 into the line and less of the liquid into the line a tighly screwed in compressed air tank will be from tests i have seen done around 95% obstructed which is ridiculous
Nephrak 3 years ago
there is a quick fix for that while involves ovaling the circle leanings inwards to the air pin or creating a ramp for air to travel into the hole
Nephrak 3 years ago
no i have found absolutely nothing positive from using a harder spring.
Nephrak 3 years ago
my * current set-up...sorry...just woke-up
Nephrak 3 years ago
My current set-up instead rids of starvation because the blow back is extremely light to a short soft spring used coupled with a velocity adjuster on the lowest setting, the lowest setting meaning the spring tension is being as relieved as it can be. so that it takes less air to blowback the markers eliminating these kind of issues. In your case with a mechanical trigger and co2 you should have little to worry about starvation wise as starvation problems is mostly a compressed air issue
Nephrak 3 years ago
reason for not having to worry about starvation is because co2 fluctuates between 825 and 875 psi approx which is more than the neccessary 800 to blowback the marker. compressed air STOCK is for hpa tanks is usually preset at 750-800 so less pressure is in the gun. while most hardcore players will buy a reg and just increase the pressure to 850 in the situation of starvation i took my above stated approach which i found way less of a hassle and just as consistant.
Nephrak 3 years ago
Have you ever accidently bumped your rear velocity adjuster and changed it?
(Am I paranoid?)
Or am I just retarded and it doesnt adjust by turning???? Please answear, thanks!
Bologna3543 3 years ago
no and as long as you keep the o-ring on it inside that velocity adjuster there will be zero movement
Nephrak 3 years ago
i thought that the expansion chamber was the fix for the inconsistency. btw i have the exact same setup.
so what your saying is that to fix the starvation issues all you need is the spring kit? or the velocity adjuster and the spring kit.
rockerchild25 3 years ago
i've never ever done any testing with only one bu i had starvation issues before i had ALL of the following ; polished internals, blue spring and RVA. where i would be forced to recock every 20-30 rounds in full auto or ramping. It was fixed after i used this set-up. it fixes it because the polished internals reduced friction, the blue spring and RVA on the lowest setting reduce spring tension thus making it require less air to blowback the marker. hope this helps.
Nephrak 3 years ago
thanks that helps a lot. but do you NEED to have the rear velocity adjuster? or can you just put the springs in normally. also ive never polished my internals and im not sure what to polish with. SOS or something right? idk
rockerchild25 3 years ago
you don't NEED it but it would help just as much if not more than just using the blue spring by itself but polished the internals and getting a blue spring would definently make a noticeable difference in your starvation but then i haven't tried it without all of them so i can't guarantee it will work. the easiest fix would be to mod the asa but i don't own a dremel or a drill so i'll have to get someone to do that for me. Sos pads will work
Nephrak 3 years ago
oh and related to your earlier statement about the expansion chamber. the expansion chamber will because IT will fill up with liquid instead of your powertube. remember if your using the e-grip and co2 with the stock plastic powertube and not polished internals you are MOST At risk to cracking your powertube
Nephrak 3 years ago
thanks that helps a lot
rockerchild25 3 years ago
the blue spring is the lowest in the spring kit the red spring is the best
carmount9596 3 years ago
The blue spring is the best because it the softest and thus the lightest pull so by reducing spring pressure and opening up the front velocity adjuster you have little to none of obstruction of blast( increasing consistancy) and less likely to have a starvation problem at high rof. Thus making the red spring the worst for consistancy and high rats of fire.

Well done!
