@509erock you got mid 9s what track? The gt500 will do 8s with only a new driveshaft, slicks and a twin turbo upgrade. You don't have to replace the engine the tranny the whole suspension and pretty much strip the car down to it's frame to make mid 9s.

I just bought a 2012 GT500 last night. There is a break in period for the supercharger for the first 5 miles or 50 first starts So it wouldn't let you floor it. It surprised me and broke loose at 45 miles an hour when I was trying to change lanes I thought I had to flour it to get around the car in front of me I didn't. LOL

@morbidlydeseased very!!!! Evolution performance took a stock gt500 put on an aftermarket supercharger and ran up the boost to 25psi or 1000hp and ran it down the drag strip. When they put slicks on they broke the drive shaft as it's not rated to handle that much power. They then put a Twin Turbo on it and ran it up to 1200hp and the engine held fine they got 8.9 in the 1/4 mile. The car can take alot of abuse. Parts are cheap!!!

The week point on the gt500 is the wheel width. On the z06, porche and just about every other car that runs 500+hp in a sports car they have fat tires in the back. They need to blow out the mustangs finders at least an inch, two would be better. It needs 335s. I'm running 315s and they just don't quite fit in the rear wheel wells.

@atty1o No way dude, the GT500 is supercharged. The 5.0 has about that much horsepower. The Laguna Seca is rated about 440, but probably pushes around 470. The newest GT500 is gonna have 650, or so I've read. The 07 GT500 had more horsepower than 447.

Watch the youtube video of the 2011 GT vs. the 2010 M3 and the mustang winning 2 of 3 comparisons, road course result was the M3 barely squeeking by, as per professional driver, in fact considering $ really a big win for the mustang. By default the Shelby wins vs the M3. As for archaic you are off base, there are euro cars that handle with a solid rear, do a little research. Numbers don't lie so don't bother responding, just watch, read and learn.

@sevenoh9 Read Motortrend test of the Gt500. They said the amount of power is difficult to control. I believe they stated that with slicks, a Gt500 will be "well under four seconds to 60 all day long". Ford did get a flat 12 at 119mph with a 2011 Gt500.
