I feel i CAN hit the high high notes,

but there's just this creepy tone to it that sounds like Herbert from Family Guy

but my lower notes sound a lot better IMO.

i'm wondering how to make the high notes actually sound like a good singers voice

OH... MY.... GOD. I feel absolutely terrible for people who pay this man in real life for vocal lessons. How awful. "Singing high notes is like yelling but making it longer". Actually... I'm pretty sure YELLING and SINGING are two totally different things. Yelling is terrible for your voice, and singing high notes requires SO much more like placement, how you shape your lips/jaw etc. You don't just yell and that's how people get nodes. No way, uh uh. Ain't nobody supposed to do that, you will ruin your voice. There are 3 sections of your voice. There is your chest voice for when you hit low notes, there is your head voice or falsetto to sing really high notes. Mixed voice is the right technique. A lot might think it's belting it out in full chest but it's actually a compressed mixed voice. This vocal teacher right here is really a crackhead!!!!!!!

It is so dangerous to use the word "yell" in voice lessons with beginners. A pro might hear what your saying and add that a "supported-yell" might be a more accurate definition. But then again, free voice lessons....you get what you pay for.

It is hard to know where to begin. For people who have had to add the consonant "h" before a vowel to achieve a specific vocal quality, it makes sense what this yelling does. Just think of singing Alleluia on high C. I am sure I would find use for the experts "yelling" technique to get the depth I need. I am just a newbie in singing...so what do I know?
