much more tonal versatility than i thought possible from an sg...is it the amp/player ? frank marino gets hendrixy/fenderish tones from an sg..but this i've never heard...even tele sounding country licks work...who'da thunk it ?

the rest is distortion and funky sound. such a versatile guitar.

@soljin3 it's not a jimi tune, it's just in jimi's way of playing.. he used to play a lot of licks like that

Many people keep telling me that PRS guitars are better than gibson. I've even heard the SE series from PRS is better than and gibson guitar. Which do you think is better? A PRS SE guitar or a Gibson SG guitar?

@IbanezNick75 well thats a subjective point, ive just played the mark tremonti prs and i wasnt that won over by the feel, a bit to fenderish (despite its lester jr looks) for my taste. its always going to come down to going into a shop, playing a few different guitars and making opinions based on your own experience. ive played gibsons i hate but i own 4 SGs as i love them that much. although a prs i do recomend is the paul allender, possibly the only prs i like, and its purple.

that 2nd tone... that's very single coily sounding. is it a coil split, or is the bridge pickup on that particular model just that bright and snappy sounding?

@TrialandError1223 I know what you mean. I love ACDC, but it makes me almost consider not getting the sg because everyone assumes that you are emulating ACDC when really I have my own style...

@TrialandError1223 Although I agree with you, there are many other musicians beside Angus Young that use an SG and are completely talented, therefore AC/DC songs are preferred but not required for an SG demo.
