With the factory stock seat, it's easy to carry a passenger and luggage on anything from smooth paved roads to improved dirt roads for 4 to 6 hours, or 200 to 300 miles (320 km to 480 km). After that, it more or less depends upon how tough you butt is! ... There are aftermarket seats that will allow the rider to basically double the distance or time before becoming uncomfortable.
Nice riding! I took a F800 GS off-road last week, (admittedly on stock tires) and oh man it was a pig! I'm used to riding enduros and it's (obviously) such a different beast, super tricky to control so god knows how difficult that monster is on the loose stuff!

Yeah but try riding all day long on a DRZ. the GS can handle the road pretty darn well and get you to Alaska and back.
