I visited East Germany and the Soviet Union with my father in 1984, and i saw a model of socialist efficiency. The USSR just over spent on defense from the United States. I can still remember playing with other members of the young communist league in East Berlin, and visiting the Palace of the DDR. Lenin in Red Square will be something i never forget. Today 58% of Russians still see Stalin in a favorable light, 72% see Lenin as a great leader.

It was a misnomer, so don't try and claim Hitler as a socialist.

@amsterdam78 uh... Do you even know what the workers party stood for? It WAS a socialist party, which they later added socialist to the name because thats what it was. They believed that the state should be in charge of everyones social welfare. Prior, the churches and private groups did that. Hitler believed strongly in Socialism, which he used to pave the way for his totalitarianism. Socialism was the door to that. You didnt think of that did you?

It was a right wing party backed by the SA. Hitler hated socialists Marxists and communists, and had almost all of them executed. You can't stand in the face of fact and claim it a victory. Just like the myth that the US won ww2, when it's common knowledge in Europe, that not only was it a concerted effort, but the without the USSR the war to save Europe would have been lost. You can thank a soviet you don't speak German.

@amsterdam78 Your information is wrong. You also cannot say it was "right wing" since the meaning changes depending on nation. The left in Japan as well as many nations is their right. It is not universally defined. Nazi's and the socialist party are the same thing. Pay attention to the socialist changes made during their rise to power.Hitler was against communism yes, but also democracy. He was a full fledged socialist which was the door way for his complete control.

You're just flat out uneducated. I have studied Hitler for years as an enemy, i have plaques of famous anti-fascists, I'm even a member of Antifa. The bottom line is that only in America is Hitler connected with socialism, you just don't hear that in the rest of the world. I think neo-Nazi's would disagree with you as well.

Its not like he is responsible for the death of more than 20 million deaths of his own people... oh wait. He was. Germany would have nevered conquered the North American continent, much less anywhere else except some regions in europe, their home turf and they wouldnt have held it for very long. Sorry champ.

By the time the US entered the war, Germany was already losing ground in the east. The soviets weakened Germany for the invasion. The heroic red army were the most to be affected by Germany, tens of millions died fighting fascism. The idea, again, is an American one. In Europe they respect the contributions of the soviets.

How many immigrants do they get daily from all over the world?How many non educated immigrants? We have millions of mexicans entering the US just for a better life, they dont come with literacy skills. Socialism and education are mutually exclusive as well. Hey whats the population difference? People have not been found coming from Cuba in years. And since the revolution, only 1% of the population has ever moved away. The revolution is run by the people in Cuba.

Well you obviously don't watch the news, there has not been a coast guard pick-up within the past few years. Before Fidel, Cuba was under a criminal dictatorship of Batista, where the proletariat was kept subjugated and illiterate. Now they have better heathcare then you can get in the USA.

@amsterdam78 Eventually the Cuban people were starving, over 1.5 million cubans had left Cuba to reside in the US. The US offered food and Castro turned it down, instead letting Cubans starve. The quality of life with a large middle class has all but disappeared and the nation as a whole is not even on par with many other South American nations. Where Cuba once was an advanced paradise, it has now become a third world country all thanks to your stupid Communist system, WHICH DOESNT FKN WORK!

@amsterdam78 You do know that it has been against the law to turn someone who needs medical attention at the hospital away right? Everyone can get health care services if they try, thats how we are set up. Doctors do free physicals, charities care for the poor. It is still a huge problem that people will choose not to have health care b/c they dont want to pay for it until they need it. Would you have cable tv and internet over health care? because thats what happens. Sorry but its true.
