I've owned both first car was the 205 GTi 1.6, it could easily out handle any R5 Turbo, but the R5 could out perform the 205. both amazing cars, always wanted a turbo'd 205 would have been best of both worlds :)

My old neighbor have a Renualt 5 GT Turbo, it´s engine has been rebuild 4 times, and now it produce 504 hp with a resently installd Garett GT35 turbo... damn sick car i love it !!

was the diesel 205 the dark horse of the gti family, iv owend 7 rneault 5 turbos, 1 1.6 205 and a 1.9 205, the 205 has the renault beat on handleing and probably brakeing also but for pure fun and speed the renault is much better

R5's are of an older design,great for blatting around the alps (i drive one and i live in the alps and the monte carlo rally goes down the local road every year)

but you wont get there as fast as a 205 would

The gt Turbo would fuck the 205 right up ok the gt turbo is only a 1400cc but if its kit up right you can produce over 220BHP and its 1/4 mile time under 12 secs.

Renault 5 Gt Turbo is very fast it beats that car hands down and its top speed is far higher than the Peugeot 205 Gti Turbo is !!!

hmm doubtful. it all depend on the mods to the gt and to the 205. spend the same amount of money (including the turbo convesion) the gt would win, but spend say 5k on the two as they both are in their current states the 205 would easy be faster

Come on people, anyone heard of Turbo Technics? they were famous in the 90's for aftermarket turbo conversions, but their most famous was the 205 -took it to 175 bhp with shed loads of torque, can scare quite alot of expensive modern cars. There are loads of "home made" turbo conversions done to the 8v 205gti with great success. Some mad folk (!) have even dropped in the T16 engine from a road going 405 T16- Wow.. R5 GTT? No thanks, skips are for putting your waste in aren't they??

The R5 build quality was bad, but the GTi was even worse, standard the R5 is a better car and more fun,

here in colombia, the 205 GTI is a very popular car, and here, all around the world, there are several 205 GTI TURBO. Yeah!! turbo, with conversion kits, and with original kit from peugeot 205 WRC kit, so stop bluffin you big ape!!

The official 205 turbo was the T16, although a turbo conversion can be done on the mi16 lump. The original T16 is rare as f**k though.
