@lgmoisespa - Search "RC boat turbine engines," there is a lot of information available. I believe the engines were $5k each and they use Jet-A fuel - same as the real Miss GEICO.
All it needs is a nitro truck and trailer in the same scale in the same color. You could take the whole setup to a beach and try and remotly launch the boat.
The "TOP SPEED" is of no concern of mine. This is just a beautiful piece of "HOBBY" machinery, period! I have dreams of this boat and would LUV to have a couple. JUST AWESOME TO ME! I wouldn'teven get close to top speed if this was MINE! Just trully like this boat.
To lay this to rest, hopefully, Jurgen, this is graill on the RRR forum. I talked to Chris and Bob, both of whom you know.
You need to make a couple corrections for AMF, first the turbines are 10 hp each, not 15 hp.
Your 100 mph speed claim is also false, You and I and Chris and anyone with years of experience can do the math, it doesnt add up. Until you run a sanctioned 330 foot course dont post GPS speeds that are inccorrect.
I will also have doug stop posting on this thread.
travscorsair, i am sending you a couple links to some racing sites with folks that know how to build and race the rc cats. The geico turbine rc cat while pretty isnt a racing machine, its a shelf model/show piece (superb workmanship). The info provided by the builder is way off and innaccurate. AMF has stated they will change the info to make it correct but to date they havent. Not looking like they care whether its accurate or not.
The info was given to me by the builder of the boat. I talked with him a couple of weeks ago and he has told me to leave it. Therefore, that is what I'm doing. We are not putting up incorrect info on purpose, or trying to deceive people. I am only putting up the info that was given to me by this fan.
please send me a private e-mail,i have one of the hpr swiss built rc cats, need some info on power to weight ratio....thanx amfoffshoreracing nice cat.
