Does anyone remember that episode number where Daphne and her mother are having an arguement while niles stands behind daphne, and she sayd something about hot steamy sex, and niles in the background gets a really nasty cheap grin on his face. I've been trying to find it for ages.
I find it so hard watching the scenes with Niles in all his relationships on the show knowing that the actor, David is actually gay because the scenes seem less genuine. It must have been hard for him to play the part of Niles sometimes- especially in that one episode where they were making fun of a gay guy, although I wish David and his husband all the happiness they deserve.
Also, it's a bit condescending for you to think that the gay jokes in the show would upset him. Like he's some sort of fragile thing whom with you need to be extra careful what you say about anything involving gay people.
I know you mean well but humour comes either from a good or a bad place and in Frasier there's certainly no mean spirited humour involving gays, or anything else for that matter.
@juzores no, our parents don't usually act like that, most of our parents have lived full independant lives, and they want their children to live full independant lives until they have their own children to worry about. i know I certainly don't want to be a burden on my children. This is just a humourous story line.
@kendrawhisp hi there .no u didnt understand my point .iam saying that we as sons and doughters shoudnt left to go to the nursing house ,we should take care of them untill the day they leave this life
@juzores My mum wouldn't let me look after her. I always tell her she's coming to live with me, but she's said it 100 times, if she gets mentally ill, she wants us to shoot her, and if she gets so she can't take care of herself physically we've to throw her in a home... who knows what she will be saying in 10/20 years, she's only 65 years old now, and she refuses to let us do a thing for her.
@kendrawhisp i find that hard to belive ,that some one wanna live and die alone,if ur mom doesnt wanna to live with u then something wrong there weather in u or in her ,any way i will never let my mom live and die away from me i wanna be with her in her hard time like she was with me in hard time ,
@juzores Did i say live and die alone? how dare you insult me and my mother in that way? My mum adores me, and my two brothers, you might not understand a human being not wanting to be a burden on their families, but i do, because my mum is obsessed with the idea. My mother has a happy life and i visit her often, and she comes over and stays with me often, and we travel together. She simply doesn't want to be looked after, especially by her children. And I don't want to be looked after either.
@kendrawhisp hey first of all i never insulted u or ur mom iam just saying that living away from ur mom is not a good idea even if she asked u to do that ,u shouldnt say right i i will let u live alone .u know the elderly people have the highest rates of depression and they commit suscide some times cos of loneliness ,i know ur western culture depicted the picture of a loser for any one lives with his mom but who cares about that MOMS are the angels of our lives
@juzores Adults are considered losers, if they are still being looked after by their parents. No one believes that living and looking after your mother makes you a loser. Also, depression and lonliness isn't something that my mum suffers from, she's the oldest child of a family of 10 and her brothers and sisters are always around, also we spend alot of time together. She's happy and self sufficient, only thing that would depress her would be, being looked after.
Oh, this is hilarious, because I was literally JUST thinking about this scene! Thanks for posting it!

What a great scene. I love how Gertrude is still standing there, crying too. Such a touching family moment. Niles fits in so well with them.
