  • This is a psychogalvanometer. It can't be really used as a lie detector because certain words cause anxiety states in people which is NORMAL. It does not mean they are lying.

  • I really like the music that starts playing around 2:23 - can someone please tell me what it is? Thanks.

  • I don't think the scilons let you see the meter when auditing you though. If you could watch the meter, then ought to be able to regulate your grip to manage the needle's movement.

  • I'm sure one could just grab one of those at a "Scientology fair" and made a run for it.

How much did that PoS cost you guys anyways?

  • looks like fun XD someone should market a toy version of those.

  • oh u mean halifax, ns, canada?

  • Thumbs up if you thought that the E-Meter plays bagpipes if you lie...

  • don't hide your face.....i can't believe these things start at $1500 on ebay

  • you fucking thetan swarming fuckers

lets see you laugh when xenu breanwashes your fucking souls and turn you into a thetan yourself motherfucker

  • 4,000 for one of these things on ebay! damn

  • people misunderstand what the e meter is for. the auditor uses it to see if there is a reaction to the question. once there is no more reaction, the state of hypnosis of the subject is verified, they are now open to suggestion. can't fake it out.

  • its just a toy made by fisher price for 3 year olds. The deluxe model comes with a Rattle

  • Why the E-meter "works".

Post hoc fallacy: If event A precedes event B, then A caused B.

Thus, if auditing with an E-meter precedes a positive change in the subject's life, the subject will assume that E-meter auditing caused the positive change.

However, the cause of the positive change may be completely unrelated to using the E-meter.

    "A precedes B, but B is caused by C."

Throw in a mild placebo effect, and the Co$ has "evidence" that the E-meter "works".

  • Can't you cobble together one of those with parts from Radio Shack? Whoop de fucking doo.

  • Yeah. It's basically a wheatstone bridge. There's a guy here on youtube who disassembles one on camera, if you're interested in building one. You could probably do it for about 20-30 USD.

  • Yeah, I actually saw that vid where the guy takes one apart. There's nothing special about it.

  • You know how Tom Cruz does it? He puts one can up his ass and the other in his mouth.. Although it doesn't designate what can goes in what hole he don't mind and thats why when he talks only crap comes out.

  • anyone who lets a machine judge them is an idiot.

  • There is another video with a guy taking an older e-meter apart. It's interesting that you really can fake these things out pretty easily.

  • So how does this thing "work"? Is it like the ohm reader electricians use? And what are all tho knobs?!

  • Trim controls. Any good volt meter will read exactly what this will. All it does is measure resistance between your two hands, and the other knobs just change the way that info is displayed.

  • I think it one of the systems that make up a polygraph

  • lol Anonymous in Halifax. :D

  • You dont have it set up right.

You are actually getting some reads that could be taken up, but the meter is set wrong.

Body movement, squeezing the cans etc, does not look like an actual read. Someone with emeter traning can easily tell the difference. The meter does work. give me a few minutes with that same person away from all the distractions and it's easily proven, if the person is willing to actually be there and be in actual open communication about themself.

  • "give me a few minutes with that same person away from all the distractions and it's easily proven, if the person is willing to actually be there and be in actual open communication about themself"

Of course, if the meter fails it's the subjects fault, just like all of Scientology. Deluded morons.

  • If you refused to open your eyes I could not demonstrate to you that a flashlight worked.

  • "If you refused to open your eyes I could not demonstrate to you that a flashlight worked."

Sure you could; eyelids don't block all light.

Terrible analogy, anyway. Yours is the pathetic dodge of all charlatans: I can't read your mind because of the 'negative energy' caused by your skepticism; God doesn't answer your prayers because you weren't earnest enough; the e-meter doesn't work because you're not "open" enough. *lol*

You're a credulous moron, and the world laughs at you.

  • What I'm saying is that if you are determined to believe that something doesnt work it's hard to show you that it does.

There are several quick demonstrations of the emeter that would show what it does and that it does work to anyone willing to observe honestly.

  • "if you are determined to believe that something doesnt work it's hard to show you that it does"

Bullshit. It's works or it doesn't. What I *want* to believe has nothing to do with it.

A resistance meter can't clear mental images imposed by thetans, because thetans don't exist. Nor do "clears", or "xenu", or any of the rest of your stupid crap.

"it does work to anyone willing to observe honestly."

Translation: anyone willing to observe it credulously, with their mind turned off.

  • Ok, well I'm just telling you what I think. I dont understand why you are so hateful.

It's my belief and experience that the emeter does work.

I wish there were some good emeter demos on youtube. I did find one

Search youtube for "The E-Meter & Scientology Counseling - Part 3 of 3"

If you can get past the guys shirt you can see that the reactions on the meter are a direct response to the statement. He is not moving. The reactions look different than body motion reads or hand squeezes.

  • "I dont understand why you are so hateful."

Because you're shilling for an incredibly predatory and destructive cult which takes lives.

"you can see that the reactions on the meter are a direct response to the statement."

Yes, it's a resistance meter (Wheatstone bridge), which are also used in lie detectors. However, that has nothing whatsoever to do with your claim that emeters "work" -- i.e. that they do what *Scientology* claims they do, which is unadulterated bullshit.

  • If you're are determined to believe that something works it's hard to show you that it doesn't. there are several demonstrations of the emeter that would show what it really does and that it doesn't work to anyone willing to observe honestly.

  • I have used it and directly observed it's use many, many times. I have trained and drilled it's use and can use it. It is a tool. An electronic piece of equipment.

You dumbasses twiddling the knobs and saying "what are all the knobs" and then deciding that it doesnt work is intellectually dishonest.

If someone wanted me to I would show them it worked. You hold the cans and I run the meter and do some demonstrations. I could run through some of the E-Meter Drills. It does work.

  • Thinking a simple OHM meter gives incite into the underlying processes of your mind is intellectually retarded. FAIL.

  • I'm not trying to be combative, but there technically is no way of ever proving such a device works. You can never PROVE that someone is thinking a particular though or having a particular emotion.

You cannot PROVE that this is some result of cerebral activity, unless you also hook up an EEG, which also can't give you the insight that Scientology claims.

The burden of proof is on Scientology, and it has repeatedly failed every test thrown at it.

  • yeah it is. you could bassically make it do whatever you want just by changing the resistance values and become the new chosen one ;)

  • i mean since it measures the ohm values you just lift s finger or somehow differenlty alter the surface value between you and the can and the needle will change.

  • So its a fancy OHM meter. It would be easy to make fake looking ones that would work the same. But im Glad that anons got the real deal

  • Nice Rockslam at the end! :0P

  • i agree, Rockslam at the end.....no wonder !

  • Dirty Needle. You're doing it wrong ;0)

  • OMG I WANT ONE

  • Keep your eye towards the bay. XD

  • that lady broke the first rule of Fight Club! You don't talk about fightclub XD

  • i think i would get the same resulf for piracy, ^______^ torrents ftw.

  • where did you get this e-meter hahaha

  • Hourly ebay raids once the ban was lifted from the site.

  • ohh good job anons!

  • ^_^ lol thanks!

  • i'm kinda new to the whole schientology thing, so if you could just help me out...on this e-meter. its basically an overpriced lie detector?

  • It is not even a lie detector. It's a cracker jack toy that is exploited by the "church" for profit. Do these people sound like that kind of people you want to follow??

  • "have u ever pirated someone"

    lol

  • ^_^

  • That has got to be a lot of fun at a picket.

  • It is! :D

You should come out and join us here.

  • Well I am about 5 hrs away from the nearest picket. I can't even get the scn's to give me a stress test any place near here. (not gonna say where that is cuz I don't want them to move anyplace close)

    But you may be right.

It's more than a poor persons house.

    Boxes are cheap.

  • It must be nice to be rich and easily influenced. I am establishing a new religion. It's called kick privilidged pieces of shit in the face. I'll sell you this can with a string on it for 1,000!!

  • the real reason why the needle moves: squeeze the cans!! LOL
