I'm being completely sincere and genuine when I say this, when I first heard Dustin played this in 2007...it helped me change my life. It opened me up, as odd as that may sound. This song moves me so much. Thrice4Life.
This gives me chills...it's sooo good....I love watching musicians when they really get into what they are playing...and he is really into what he is doing, which is awesome
I don't get it, why does covering an artist make you a musical genius? There's no difference between this and the acoustic "Round Here" on Counting Crows album Across a Wire. Except for all the screaming.
Yeah youre right, theres no difference..except the fact its a DIFFERENT ARTIST covering the song and doing their take on it. Thats the point of a COVER. Then youll respond and back peddle and say "Well why does that make him a musical genius?" Its because the way he takes an already established great song and keeps it great in his own way of doing it. Oh and if you think THATS screaming...i'll just say 'lol'
but you missed the part about how there is no difference, there is no different "take". This isn't "his own way of doing it". He's just performing a less well known version of an Acoustic performance by Counting Crows. Even the ending is word for word. I'm not saying the guy isn't talented, I'm just saying this isn't original, he didn't change anything.
in my opinion he's a musical genius because of his work with Thrice and it's amazing to hear somebody I idolize sing a song by someone else i idolize.
I agree with you that it's not different at all, except that it's Dustin. This cover doesn't make him a musical genius, as good as it is.
He pictures above him-2 small gloved hands holding a red and white striped carnival popcorn bag. All the while popcorn descends upon him as juju bees fly in and around the room. This is true.
No I live in Southern Illinois and we had that awful ice storm and there was no way for me to get out. I'm pretty disappointed about it, really hoping that they don't skip the midwest on warped tour but I would have rather seen this, It looked epic.
What kind of camera did you capture this with? I was at the Pontiac show and have some footage, but the audio quality isn't as good as yours. Unfortunately, Dustin was sick, but he still sounded great!
I actually just have a Sony DSC-P100. It's about 4 years old, but I've held onto it because it has such a great audio capture in it's video mode. Even for extremely loud shows, it doesn't get all bass-y and everything. I heard about Dustin being sick...that kinda sucks, but I'm glad he still sounded awesome!
Haha Nashville is going to go WILD at the city's mention thanks to the Crows. God, I love living in Nashville sometimes. It's kind of weird how Dustin lives in CA yet has more of Nashville-type sound with Please Come Home than the majority of musicians that actually LIVE here.
This was so ridiculously good. My favourite song and you did it proud.

Haha! I think you probably do.... I tend to move around a lot while I listen to music, hence the shakey-ness.

just search ROUND HERE ACOUSTIC on youtube, there's no difference. This isn't a new version, it's actually about 10 years old.
