@liloldlewy Thanks! And, so you know, I do have a cover of Vincent among my uploads. I can't link to it here but if you go to my channel and scroll through my uploads keeping your eye out for Don McClean you should spot it pretty easily. I hope you like it!
@thepoozer Thanks for the suggestion. I'll add it to the request list. I've been pretty bad about putting up new stuff for a while now though. I'll try to do better.
I remember this song it has alway's had a haunting feeling. Ghost, Castles dark, chains upon feet, I think you get my point. You have done a wonderful rendition of this great classic Tim. Great job friend.................Carl
very good job i also do this song live its alot harder than people think, and you nailed it.way better than i do it. i remember hearing songs like this on the radio in the seventies on long drives through different states with my folks, sad song but brings back great memories.good job please do more
@johntyler833 I'm not sure what you mean by fake. Do you mean did I employ some sort of editing or dubbing tricks to make this? The answer is no. It's a live recording with no editing except for clipping at the beginning and end so you don't have to watch me get settled in my seat or reach for the computer mouse to stop the recording. But you're welcome to think what you like.
@ChicanoTattooArt Thanks for the suggestion. That was one of my favorites when I was really young. Terribly sad song though. I'll add it to the list, but given that it's been more than a year since I've been able to post, I can't promise anything.
@bravo723 interesting info about "Seasons in the sun" Jacques Brel did the original writing in French. Also The Kingston Trio and then the Beach Boys with Terry Jacks covered the song latter Jacks butchered out a verse about a cheating wife and made it a hit.. later then to be attempted by Nirvana.
since you take requests I was wondering... How about anything by justin beiber?(That's strictly a joke). I just came across your channel and your voice is unbelievable. You have incredible articulation and the timbre is perfect for classic acoustic works. I do have a real request if you get the time - Boy from the country written by Micheal Martin Murphy and probably more well known as a song John Denvers played.
@Guilddude2 Lol! Thanks for the laugh. You know it's not out of the question. There's a YT video of Richard Thompson covering Britney Spears' "Oops I did it again." So why shouldn't I cover the Biebster? Thanks too for the kind words and the request. I will add it to the list. I suspect I've heard it before having been a Denver fan, but at the moment I don't remember.
great cover, im desperate to learn this song but cant find a tab or lesson anywhere... any chance you could post the tab its difficult to see exactly what your playing from just the video... cheers
@iwc3714 Thanks. Sorry about the WD40. I got a lot of similar comments about it. But it's long gone. That video was made two apartments ago. Maybe I should do a new one?
I wish you would call me and let me coach you on these vocals. This is fantastic work. A recording limits about 45% of the spl at the mic. Let me let you hear what he is *really doing, and what the compressors are blocking.
Thanks, I'm certainly open to advice about recording. I would love to be able to improve my sound. Feel free to send me a pm. Also thanks for the sub and friend request!
@RobgersHabit. No it doesn't. But I have recently moved to a new job in an area where there might be opportunities for me to play out if I can find the time to put together a couple of sets worth of music and to shop myself around to places. It's just that I'm usually too tired by the end of the day to do anything about it.
I had just arrived in Canada from London. Everything was so different. Then the snow came, and I had to start looking for a job. Time went by and I started to love that Country and its people.
Thank you very much for all the beatiful melodies you play.
I don't even know. It came with my $300 fostex multitracker. All i'm doing is using the fostex as a mixer for my guitar and vocals, sending the signal to the iMac via a stereo adaptor and then I record using iMovie.
Thanks. And thanks for the sub too. I do get a lot of requests for tabs. My main problems with this is time. My job keeps me too busy during the academic year. At some point I may try to get my hands on some good tab-writing software and then we'll see.
Well your work is adorable. For some reasons I was indulging in the song day in and out on my Media Player. Then I started to search for any MV Mr Lightfoot may have made. And your clip came up. Now I play your version day in and day out.
As a YouTube "noob" I've also noticed that your audio and video is technically very "clean". Can you share a bit of info about your A/V-to-computer interface? I.e., are you mixing down externally into a camcorder or using a software application to capture, mix and process both audio and video?
Hi again SpuneTinner. I get this question once in a while. Unfortunately the answer is more than 500 characters long. I'll have to pm you with an answer. Maybe I should put up a vlog entry about it sometime. I'll be in touch.
Hi, Tim. Just wanted to say that you've done a really nice job on this song, as well as on your other posted videos. Great vocals and masterful playing give your work a very professional quality. Looking forward to your future postings.
Hi Laurianni! I'm planning a comeback soon. My guitar is in the shop. When I've got it back I hope to put some more stuff hope. I'm doing okay. I hope you're you doing well too!

Hey Tim - another beautiful GL song, beautifully done.
I hear at least 3 "Four Chord Gord" (as he affectionately known here in Canada)songs every day on the oldies station I listen to(650 CISL) and every time I do, I find myself wondering how you would do it. Hi Pat, I have occasionally given a lesson or two to people I know, but I've never set myself up as a guitar teacher. I guess my day job keeps me too busy. As for a the D18 - I would be quite at home on that instrument, though the guitar you see me playing here is something called a DCX-1E. Thanks for the PM by the way. I will respond separately to that. -Tim

Hi Tim! Thanks for your great comment. I'm glad you appreciate the arrangment. I worked pretty hard on it. I didn't want to perform the song with those "nuances." I too am a fan of Taylor's. good one, tim. your version works well even without the lead fills. In fact, I like the slightly slower pace and relaxed singing style. There's a sense of tiredness in it that's appropriate to the song.
