  • dam he just blew away that soldier with that big tank.

  • @SIGNALSTAT War is hell.

  • Definately the lower priced toy! My parents did not spend top dollar on any toys unless it was Christmas. So naturally I got the Combat Kid.

I assembled a Mint set of these soldiers with their cases that are proudly displayed right above my Johnny 7 OMA gun! These toys sure impacted our lives for sure.

  • it seems to me these were "poor boy type" knock off of GI joe-I had tex and he did not last-fell to pieces only after a few combat missions. My 2 GI joes survived to be sold on ebay!

  • lol

  • And barbie in 1969, right?

  • how many inch es

  • @TheCorpsHQ The action figures are approx. Six and one half inches tall.

  • I'm building a collection of these figures as we speak. i love them! 6 down 2 to go i still need big ears and tex and the camo uniform set! any leads for me?

  • @TylerMilliren Let me take a look at what I have. I know I have extra uniform packs with accessories and a couple of figures in the cases but I am not sure which ones I have I will take a look when I get a chance. Do you need them in their cases or would loose be ok?

  • @gomangojoe hey i really apperciate that. my e-mail is "johncapr at comcast.net" i dont really care about the cases. i just need tex and the camo accessory set and what ever loose weapons you may have. Email me and we'll work out the details. thanks again.

  • i have allot of these

  • Do you have any mint figures in the case with mint backing cards? I am looking for a mint backing card for the "Sarge" Figure. Let me know the condition of your tigers and also let me know if you want to sell any. Joe

  • @gomangojoe yes, yes I do they are also in great condition but i cant sell any I loved these when I was a kid and im keeping them as colecters items. Sorry

  • creepy looking

  • Does anyone else remember the commercials for the fine product?

Sung to the theme of Sousa's Washington Post March

"Tiger, Topper Tigers, Never before could men of war swing in to action just for you.

Press his chin, Bugle Ben Blows Charge, Sarge leaps away, Rock has a Grenade.

Na, Na Na Na Tex and Combat Kid. Na Na Na Na its Topper Tigers." (I've forgotten about 1/3 of the jingle to tell you the truth)

  • @washogskinz Dude I am glad you remember most of the song. I've been racking my brains out trying to remember. I think the rest of the jingle is this. Rock has a grenade. Machine Gun Mike, action combat kid. Move into attack, into action they are tigers.

Lets see if between the two of us we can get the whole song!

  • @gomangojoe This much, I'm reasonably certain about:

Never before could men of war swing into action just for you.

Press his chin, bugle Ben blow charge, Sarge leaps away, Rock has a grenade.

Machine Gun Mike, Tex and Combat Kid. Move into Attack into Action, there the tigers! My older brother can probably come up with the rest. I was only 9 at the time.

  • Seen a bunch of these Topper Tigers over the years in antique stores but always overlooked them cause I was more interested in finding old Gi Joes. Neat toy.

  • i still have all mine

  • I've been busy 57 Mags. Im thinking about it though.

  • I think "Pretty boy" is gay!

  • Haha, nice. My brother and I had Tex and Big Ears. We played with them all the time.

  • I had a couple of them when I was a kid but compared to GI Joe, Captain Action, Major Matt Mason and Johnny West, they were pretty lame!

  • Thanks, for posting this! My brothers and I had the whole line...every time we went to Sears we would get one of these they were right beside the G.I. Joe display

  • I have a unopened box of The tigers barracks. With the Sarge & Maching gun Mike inside. The date on the box is 1968. It was distributed by Sears. It says A Sears exclusive on the box's front label

  • @rampup Hello..would you consider selling the tigers barracks set?

    57mags

  • 57mags, I wouldn't know where to begin figuring what it's worth.

  • Thanks for your reply. Could you email me photos of the barracks set? Related items such as the wall or tank sets in the box I've seen sell in the $200 range, but it's your call. I can make immediate payment via paypal. I can make an offer if you wish.

  • Hi rampup...Thanks for the youtube of the barracks set. I've been searching for this set for quite a while. Have you given any thought to selling it...and what price you might part with it?

  • sorry ,your right .i had never heard of them.

  • yeah ,i like 2 learn things.who or what company made them?just for the knowledge.

  • never heard of them, and i was a kid in the 60s.a team music.

  • You learn something new everyday.

  • I had all these guys when I was about 10 or 12..... wonder what ever happened to them? I'm sure Mom gave them away to someone.

  • Great video, but combat kid, is shell shocked check out his eyes!

  • Big ears looks like he rides the short bus.

  • You must notice that "Tex" looks like Robin Williams and "Pretty Boy" looks like Fred Willard!!!

  • Wow...I didn't know that there were any action figures other than GI Joe...is this for real?

  • They sure are real! I think Tex looks like Al Bundy! They never did make it big because GI Joe was advertised much more then the tigers. I am selling some tigers on E-Bay right now. check them out. Search Topper Tigers. Thanks for watching.

  • Great Vid! Hey Tex looks like Al Bundy from Married with Children!!!!

  • Wow! Absolutely amazing! These are the actual dudes from the '60s with an amazing dub and soundtrack and everything. I had the Big Tiger Tank and Sarge as a kid (WITH CIGAR!!) and regularly blew up all enemies including King Zor, Godzilla, and the Revell Wolfman. Undefeated until Major Matt Mason stomped my tank with his Moon Crawler but then he got caught in the rainbird sprinkler and fell over. I call it a draw.

This is a great video! Well done gomanjoe!
