open the tray and see wot it looks like hitatchi has a groove on the middleto the right and a few more holes benq has a yellow wire if you take the faceplate off and look at the hole bottom right of the drive toshiba dont have the hole on the front or on the disck tray easiest way if u dont understand this google it

If you mean for Slax, Sure, I prefer using USB though, as it means 1 less disk i have to waste on a 54mb OS i will probably never use again, but with DVD i suppose you can easily boot it even if it is on a old pc which does not support USB boot. =)

you open your 360.. wait like what type of Hitachi drive or any drive to find out the ROM Version and model of the Hitachi open up tour xbox (this voids the warranty) then it says everything right on the sticker... to find out what type of drive you have (samsung Hitachi Ben Q or Light on) look around on youtube you can tell with out opening your xbox

Mode B is not for recognizing it in windows, you ABSOLUTELY have to have your drive in mode b to flash at all. Otherwise, you'll brick it.

Guys, 360mod . net, go there, then click on tutorials, then follow, simple stuff. MAKE SURE that you ONLY flash the correct firmware according to your drive. Find out what you need at 360mods . net.

the best way to flah ur 360 is to go infront of it and just take of ur pants. the whole point of it is to scare ur 360 soo bad that it has no choice but to play backups. my 360 was a bit hesitant i had to flash it twice but know it works fine.
