Attention ALL Leopard Gecko Owners, and upcoming leopard gecko owners. Do not get the fucking "Zoo-Med Basic Kit" it murders fucking geckos. My gecko just fucking froze to death because of it. The Cage is 60 the way it says to be set up with leopard geckos. Have the heat pad on bottom with the light on fucking top. @CCWInTraining when they get older they change colour depending on what morph it is. A standard 'normal' leopard gecko will turn spotty as it becomes an adult

@Smith8154 you can buy them in reptile stores or from people who breed them. They very rarely make any sound. when they are just born if they get frightened they sometimes make a sound but other than that, they are silent.

This video is EPIC. I'm planning on getting a leopard gecko. Two questions for ya: Are there any major drawbacks to these geckos? Second question.. Do they need UVB? The reason I asked about the UVB is because every site I go to and every video i watch gives me a different answer.

@lilrowe21 they are fairly easy to look after, and I don't use a UV light so you should be ok without one :) I just use a red tinted bulb which is good because it isnt too bright for them

@thesnake9988 If he DOES have an eye infection and he needs meds you BETTER give them to him every day. I had a leopard gecko that had an eye infection in 1 eye and I didn't give him meds every day. I gave him the eye drops every day but not the oral medicine all the time cause I didn't want to force it down. Then one day I took him out to clean out his eye and give him the eye drops. I laid him next to me on the couch and after 5mins i noticed he wasn't breathing. He was 2... His name was GIzmo

@nadasdaman if you have little or no experience with reptiles then definitely get a leopard gecko rather than a chameleon, I've heard chameleons are very difficult to look after. remember if your getting a reptile you should do research first and buy everything you need e.g. vivarium, heat mat, before you buy your lizard. you will also need a nearby reptile shop where you can buy crickets for food. :)

@nadasdaman They are both Awesome. But as a starter i recommend The Leopard Gecko. They also live 3 times longer. Chameleons are beautiful also, but hard to breed and hard top raise. But if you want something less expensive and still beautiful go with the Leopard Gecko. And get them at Reptile Shops. Not petco or petsmart. They dont do a good job with there animals. Just Google your local pet reptile store. Or see if theres going to be any Reptile Expos near your area soon.
