my sisters macbook had a similar problem like this, in the apple garanty they said that the mother board was dead, or something like that, i dont remember, and it need to replace it, with a coast like 400 dolars
She lost all her information, but well my sister now dont have it, she sell it, and she think to buy other lap or imac, the problem was as apple garanty said, for hit it.

Dani, hardisk working like charm. i take out and put in USB casing still can detect.

Try to hear if there is a noise near the hard disk part. Maybe the hard drive is broken or you have a problem with the screen.
