  • OHHHH I know how to do this with a ruler its wicked!

  • I did this in the womb

  • I there any technical term for this?

  • 112 people can't make a square with lines

  • my 4th grade teacher made me do this... =D

  • You are not "drawing" a curve using straight lines. You are forming a composite, which is the result of arranging straight lines of gradually increasing lengths. Old childhood game. It was trite a century ago.

  • I learned it playing SA:MP stunt mode :D

  • I learned this while playing Linerider

  • @Westcliff09 YES

  • I learned this in 3rd grade

  • @HMS4399 I learned this in 0 Grade

  • I learned this in grade 6

  • i learned this in 5th grade. we had to stitch these onto paper. you can make pretty cool designs using this.

  • Yep, time for some porn...

  • it's the new 3D !

  • okaay .. this is a nerdy question : but how do i find the function of the resulting curve ?

  • borrring

  • linerider faps to this...

  • lol line rider

  • chuck norris can make that with just one line

  • OMNOMNOMNOMNOM i ate it

  • did you learn this playing line rider?

  • REMEMBER KIDS, NEVER DRINK AND DERIVE.

    DOHOHOHOHOHOHOH CALCULUS JOKE.

  • you know, its not really a curve is it? its a lot of straight lines.

  • @imnotstpid LOL

think theoretically? They are the same!

  • @imnotstpid So is everything on a computer screen.

  • @mindsnare1982 yeah. i was also thinking. circles that have been machined out from a computer, do they have curved edges or lots of straight lines?

  • @imnotstpid The intersections form together to make one curved line allusion.

  • what is the name of this method?

  • We did this in 6th grade

  • we did this in school :P

  • The base lines are the only straight lines in this... all other lines are slanted (or curved)

  • it looks amazing, thnks.

  • And thus, Line Rider was born!

  • FUCK IT! imma just draw a curved line......

  • Everyone knows

  • LINE RIDER!!!!!!!

  • @xXxDANMANxXx i was thinking the same thing haha

  • That was mind-blowing xl

  • woot exponental

  • congratu-fucking-lations, i went to 4th grade too.

  • nice illusion

  • thats clever-well done

  • Pretty cool actually imo, nice work man

  • It's called a Parabola people.. It's done in Art classes, Math Classes, or really any classes that the teacher want's you to kill yourself in..

  • wichcraft!

  • we had to do that in school once, but we made a star (that x4) and we ha to color all the little squares in it :(

  • i sometimes use this in line riders lol

  • i can draw a straight line using only curved lines

  • @Double0eleven NO DUHH

  • ive done that when i was 7

  • @brendan0153 lol same. it was in my maths book ROFL

  • LOL i always do this at the corner of my textbook when i'm bored at school.

  • @omgitschewbacca lol cool :D

  • can you possibly do something similar with curved lines to make even better bodies?

  • why would u ever need to do this? :S

  • @woahdudecalmdown Everything has a purpose its just u need to find it first :)

  • i kno that, u stole my trick u ginger cunt!

  • I miss line rider :/

  • if deltay/deltax is smaller u can get a better curve(almost perfect)

  • amazing,,,,

  • wow. some asian kid did this in 2nd grade and i've been unsucsessfully trying to recreate it off and on for 13 years. and i'm a flippin animation major.

  • dude that is lame

  • PUTA CAN I HAVE YOUR SERVICE?

  • I did this for an art project....i used string :p

  • @pekadefa Yep, me too.

  • ok people it like a roller coaster the bars under it are straight then it eventualy makes a cure...jk it just L(.)(.)ks COOL

  • ☻

  • its not curved its just lots of stright lines

  • I remember i learned this like 6 years ago.

  • Linerider btw? :)

  • ☻

  • signed in over 3 yrs ago, and he only have one vid. LOL

  • nice

  • wow awsome

  • SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET

  • lol this guy LAST signed in over 3!!! years ago....i think hes gone so stop complaining lol your just talking to thin air

  • Wow I did this when I wa in third grade.. I think almost everybody knows this

  • i already know how to do that. we did this in school in 6th grade. wow....nice video.....

  • i thought they were all gunna be perpendicular lines... but they weren't.. and i was dissapointed ☻

  • this concept can be extended to make curved surfaces such as the hyperbolic paraboloid

  • u suck dodo

  • @badman ur comebacks are terrible and ur only making urself look stupider by the second

  • if i may..... this just explains why tangents equal slope.

  • @ekh8er indeed it does

  • Anyone could really do that

  • Comment removed

  • in english please?

  • dude no one cares.

  • Comment removed

  • idk i didnt read

  • Comment removed

  • i do this in math cass when i was 10 or something

  • It's Called A Parabolic Curve

  • yo llevo esa materia en mi escuela y se llama DIBUJO TECNICO eso no tiene nada de impresionante

  • ive done this before in math. it was kewl. We also did one with like 6 lines. o.o it was kewl

  • Woe thats amazing!!! :)

  • That's weird.....o.o

  • thats so sick!

  • wow i just wasted 65 secs of my life

YOU OWE ME 65 SECS BACK!

  • he dont owe u shit, your stupid enough to watch it even when u knew what it was about, dont be a dumb ass.

  • @badman468 shut the f*** up u bitch

  • @AnimalLover4100 na, how about you? Your mad cause u know im right.

  • @badman468 no i'm mad because ur a bitch

  • nice, looks like a bended plane

  • Ok, multi-straight-line-sided object ;)

  • Not too hard. In theory you could have an infinite number of lines and it would still be approx. 1/4 of a polygon, or multi-straight-lined object. Moreover it's an optical illusion because the lines indeed have x pixels of width and the brain just naturally assumes it's round because it's never seen a zillion-sided polygon.

  • i do this all the time in line rider!

  • that is bad ass like... lol

  • clever

  • thANKS .. VERY COOL ..

YOUR MAKING MY INNER GEEK HAPPY

  • 1:02 pause

looks like a grid you use when creating games terrain ect but curved xP

  • I cant believe that i think this is cool....

  • line rider..

  • thay ar diagnle man

  • So? He never said they were parallel...

  • nice man good job =)

  • not perfict but its prety good

    p.s. me rate 5 *'s

  • u can never really draw a curved line with straight with straight lines

  • I use this more then 15 years.

  • The principle of differenciaton.

  • And I thought I was bored...

  • Wow Man Good Job Any Ways

  • I used to draw these in school. It is a million times cooler when you continue and draw each corner, and then draw another one of these at 45 degrees.

  • Ok... it LOOKS curved but it's not a perfect curve...

  • i can do that

  • Are you making the graph of the interest in this video?

  • I love the way you get thumbed down for a genuinely witty joke. Youtube ftw, lol.

  • It would've been nice if you'd used a Grid... then it would be a proper curve;)

  • those are diagonal :P

  • ya but their not curvey

  • I did this in algebra class. You need to do it in every single degree or else there r real small straight lines hence - not making it curved.

  • linerider. haha

  • if you do that on four courners of a x-axis y-axis you will make a star

  • Its cool but nothing special.

  • i did this in art class =D

  • actualy you can't. becouse we do not live in ''perfect'' world... so even best machine can't draw a perfect curved line. and looking forward to discover america!

  • exactly nyhmslave, go on MS paint, use the circle function draw it, zoom in 8x and you will see they are just tiny pixles that create an effect of a circle.

  • @nyhmslave Technically the world is perfect - just not mathematically ideal. =P

  • nice. congratulations! you discovered that with infinite straight lines you can draw a curved line!

but hey! i think i saw it sometime in the primary school but i think is too advanced for studying it at primary school, dont you think?

let see if you can discover america. some people says that it's on the west.

  • @gigioneumatica ur cool...tool. ily ♥ x]

  • i did this in compsci XD

  • I did this in Algebra 1.

  • we did this in alg 2 back in high school. we made some pretty funky shapes.

  • cooooooool!!

  • kinda looked like a 3d grid

  • lol they thought me this in art class... cool lol

  • cooooool :)

  • cross stitching

  • its so magic !! ... hum i mean... boring lost of time...

  • smart

  • whats the name of this drawing again ?

i know that they have some type of name lol

  • this makes me wanna play linerider

  • cool, it even gives you a 3d tile effect

  • nice :D

  • Fun! I remember drawing like this in elementary school. We also had those kits at home, a collection of flat, plastic circles - all different sizes & colors. With 'teeth' around the outside and a hole in the middle for the pen.

  • thats pretty cool i guess

  • lol i had to do a project of this for geometery xl lol

  • well obviously.... but all curved lines r made of smallsmallsmall straiight lines! or dots..

  • lol ethan dont be a nerd... just watch the vid and move on with your life...

  • think i dont know a?

u can draw by ur ruler also~

  • Technically, it isn't a curved line. It only appears so with this degree of smoothing. If we were to zoom in much further, we would not see a curved line.

  • You are most certainly right. And the more lines you use, the closer the curved line will be to perfection.

  • i did this in school as an art project but we made it into a star

  • yes you can tell if the video is a scremer, Leogriffen is right. this video is NOT a screamer

  • ɥsıqqnɹ

  • what a miracle.

  • thats SICK!

  • i bet you think your so smart with this.

was done in school by myself and many others.

  • ohhh thats such a challenge. i bet your the only person who ever did that. that was sarcastic btw

  • get over it dude, he never said it was amazing or anything, atleast its more interesting than half the stuff on youtube

  • i wouldn't say half. more like an eighth. and if its not "amazing or anything" his comments won't be.

  • meh u have to admit theres alot of crap on this, id say a good bit of everything on this is a rickroll

  • rickrolls are hilarious. but they get annoying after a while

  • especially when i get 3 in a row looking for assassins creed 2 things or looking for random stuff, i hate screamers D:

  • you can easily tell if a video is a scremer, if it is A: 1-10 seconds long, or short for something you were expecting, B: pause, mute and scroll to the end and see if there is a scary face, and C: most of the time people talk about it being a screamer in comments, or if it has a 1 or 2/5 star rating

  • i dnt read until after :)

  • Anyone ever play linerider? Lol

  • ye lol, i know it from line rider 2:p

  • wow. I did this in grade school math. AMAZING! 0_0 lol. xD
